The Lotus Vaporizer

i think someone from ezvapes should let the lotus vaporizer site know  :p
http://www.lotusvaporizer.com/node/34

ps. just kidding, i have no idea :p
I mean I know they're still on the Lotus site, but if EZVapes is correct, that could be because Lotus still has them in stock, just isn't producing more...

EDIT: Now, someone else at EZVapes emailed me saying they (EZVapes) are simply out of stock of the short stems, and hoping to get more. So this conflicts with the information I got from the person I spoke to on the phone who said that Lotus is discontinuing their short stems. Hmm...

I've always though that having two identical stems just an inch apart was kind of weird.
I've never tried either size, but why not just go with 6" instead of choosing between 5.5 and 6.5"

Would not be surprised if they discontinued the short stem, it really makes no difference. I have both of them, and use the longstem most often. It can still fit in your pocket, it's easier to see the plate, and as silly as it sounds it looks better.

i have both too... and think the short is better to carry around... i think the long one is rather non-pocketable

ack, decisions!

EDIT: I pointed out the inconsistency to EZVapes and I got another email saying that the rep who said that the short stems are being discontinued was misinformed.

I'm green with envy... Simply an amazing piece.
If you don't mind me asking; who made the hook and was is reasonably priced?
I haven't been able to find anything I really like and know custom is the way to go.
Did you design it yourself or just provide some guidelines?

On another note...

Guess who has two thumbs and a new lotus on the way...
 Hmm , not that guy
It's meeee!

I just couldn't resist any longer and called it in this morning (Thanks Fc ) Tracking says it should arrive Tue but that seems kinda long from Jersey to Wisconsin, although I guess it is Thursday.
Anyways, time to play the waiting game :uhoh::popcorn:

I love my Solo and use it everyday, but it requires electricity. I was looking for something that required no electricity to use it. Just in case a hurricane rolls through, we lose electricity, and I can't charge my Solo. And, I must be able to use it one handed because I will be like this for the foreseeable future. I have been investigating all options, and all vaporizers that fit those requirements. Right now, I have an Iolite on the way. :)

Hi Vicki. I was writing before about some custom glass adapter I bought for pocket purpose (was still bigger than I asked btw). I got to the point it could also be useful for people needing to use a whip and alternatively using only one hands. You could order a glass which is flat and sitting on his own. Finally pretty similar idea as a bubbler/ashcatcher(jhook) but using a whip instead.

Also about lighters again : I bought the JOBON which was advised here (), and it does the job amazingly ! Pretty big so only at home for me, and has a lock function too ! The flame is really top notch, tiny (unless honest) and powerful. Perfect to get the right power/size and not going overheating.

Jesse from Lotus Glass made it for me. It was my design, but I also encouraged Jesse to use his imagination and add whatever he saw fit.

Hi all!

Just wanted to share a story with you about the dangers of high heat vaping with the Lotus.

I've vaped reclaim several times at higher heat than normal using my crazy max diffusion (AC + Bubbler + PNWT combined) rig to reduce the flavor of the vapor. I usually let the Lotus run hotter than normal for those sessions.

Recently I've noticed my herb wasn't vaping evenly despite proper technique (especially when comparing ABV from the lotus to my other vapes) - I even tried every technique I've read on this thread. I started to suspect it was caused by my 15 degree angled adapter. But found it strange, It felt like I had to heat the cap hotter tha normal to produce thicker vapor. Additionally I noticed my ABV after the first hit seemed dark brown in one spot while the rest of the herb was relatively light brown (almost green). Another recent thing I noticed was a slight smell of burnt wood when I removed the cap from the WPA after a normal draw (not high temperature). I knew something was up.

I decided to try switching back to one of my (bent, non cracked) spare plates from the original design.

When I removed my top plate, I found this inside:
NnU9laZ.jpg

Well there's my problem right there!

Literally 1/3rd of the outer ring clip holding the inside plate was loose! I contacted Mendo regarding this to see if this was normal. I discovered this is caused by excessive heat and not covered under warranty!

BE CAREFUL TO NOT HEAT EXCESSIVELY!

Thankfully Mendo was kind enough to work with me to get a replacement cap (natural finish this time!). But let this be a lesson to all. If you're trying to vape with higher heat for huge lung-busting draws, please use caution with the Lotus.

As mentioned many times before, the three screws holding the outer heating plate to the Lotus cap strip easily. I advise not 'checking' inside your cap unless you suspect a serious issue like mine.

The first session with my new cap was amazing, performed like a champ. I was able to finish a whole load in one draw (no stirring needed). Haven't seen this kind of performance in over a month from the Lotus.

For now, I'll only use it with raw herb exclusively - I'll save concentrates and reclaim for my other vapes.

Dabs are vapor too!
Hey, I posted this a while back, it might explain your screws stripping:

I've read a couple posts where people stripped the hex screws holding the plates down. Size is 1.3mm. I have been trying to find a key that small for a while, turns out my buddy had one. MT sells a very nice one, bit pricey if you only want the tool.

My key mics out a 1.27, so it should fit fine, but it didn't. It would only go part way into the hex nut. I believe that is why some are getting stripped. Perhaps these teeny hex screws are a bit smaller than they should be? I used a small diamond sharpening stone to carefully hone just a little off each of the six sides, right near the tip. This allowed the key to fit properly and easily start the screws. NOTE: this shit is small folks! You will need a magnifying glass or super duper vision to see the area you need to work on.

I AM NOT suggesting you get the tool and take your Lotus apart (I didn't). BUT if you NEED to, this seems to help. Here's a link to a cheap one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-3mm-Metri...278?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d6fe34c6
NOTE: I have never tried this one, it might fit fine. Try it before modifying :ko:

Here's in that video finally lol

Hey @VapeNStone

I'm digging your j hook. Where might I procure such a nice piece of glass?
I noticed you're in Wisconsin also. Was is from a local shop or custom?

Great videos by the way.:clap:Every time I watch them I feel regret for not being patient enough for the turquoise cap. The other part is hopeful the natural wood will win me over. (Let's be honest though, I'll probably get both:drool:)

Any who, please send good info my way. I've been on this hook hunt for weeks now, it's driving me mad!

Thanks man! I bought that j hook locally at a place called Blue it's on greenfield in greenfield wi. I have since broke that one and bought a different one that I like much more.

Here is me hitting some reclaim I think in cotton through it.

But IMHO no j hook makes the lotus pocketable. I bought these pieces that did the trick just great. I don't remember the link though. I think @jambandphan03 linked it?

I use the first one in the vid

Bluuue! Of course! I can't believe I didn't even think of checking them out. That store is amazing but their site needs some photographic updates as most pages are "coming soon."

In other news, My package is in Illinois! I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. Although, my guy is falling through tonight and I just maybe be without batteries Christmas morning

Less is more,I bought the little scoop they sell and I just use two scoops
You can use more, but it's so efficient I usually never vape a second bowl, granted my tolerance has gone down quite a bit over the past three months.

This is my fav vape for when I'm in a hurry and need to leave fast,it's ready in like 5 seconds and it's finished in like 2-5 mins.which is a lot faster than many of my other vapes

Sidenote, many of my friends that combust never really enjoyed vaping with my at home vapes and portables.but once they tried the lotus most of them converted to vaping now.
I think it reminds them of torching a bong bowl which is comforting to them

This charring is what i am sensing in the taste of the lotus and i used big lighter only once cause i read people do in this thread.. and it was enough to fuck it up... tastewise.. Anyway soon i am getting my new replacement cap once i get enough money to buy WPA.. so i can sell it as a new kit. Boo to all talk about purity of taste with it.. guess those guys have babied theirs since day one .
