Arizer Solo

I have been enjoying my Solo for the past few months now.

I've been figuring out more about vaping, and a lot about patience in the mean time. It seems my tolerance is dropping while I am grasping a better understanding of the extraction process as it takes place in a flower vaporizer, and extracting more efficiently. Leaving concentrate largely alone for the past few months has helped with tolerance as well as waiting as long as I can at night to vape.

When I first started using it, I was doing two stems in 12 minutes, thinking it was all extracted by that point (6 minutes in). I definitely have some insanely potent ABV. That stuff wasn't even vaped halfway. I thought once it started tasting decarbed and turned brown it was pretty much done. This theory of mine was incorrect. I also had a much higher tolerance back then. Flowers were not really getting me high (edit: at all), and only lightly medicated.

My straight stem holds .24 (seems higher than most people), and my PV GonG (non shorty) holds .17, and both seem to yield the same effect in 12 minutes at the same temps. So I still can't fully extract .17 grams in 12 minutes. It seems to take me 1 minute for every .01 grams at a level 4. Of course depending on terpenes content, moisture content, density, grind, packing density, and cannabinoid content.

So I'm thinking of putting in a little spacer or maybe dome a screen, for the perfect 12 minute load. I want to get the most out of my battery so I like to use the whole 12 minutes since I'm sure it uses a lot of juice to quickly heat up like that.

I figure if I want faster extraction I can turn the temp up higher. That's the only thing I don't really like, the extraction times. I could probably use less product for the same effect.

Does anyone have any tips and tricks for fast extraction, other than the obvious, turn it up, dummy! Or is that pretty much the extent, and extraction times limited to time and temp? Common sense tells me that the extraction speed is the extraction speed at X temp (barring some small differences as I noted above) however I don't have much common sense. Maybe grind consistency, packing density, proximity to bottom of heater cup? Is there any difference in extraction times for the 14 mm vs 18 mm PV GonGs?

Great post, good logic up to a point. First, here's the lowdown on battery use based on the older unit. It takes about 2 minutes flat out to make step 4. After that it drops to about 30% duty cycle, up to about 50% if you hit it hard. So you use as much power getting to temperature as you would staying at temperature for six minutes at idle, four hitting it hard. So yes, say 1/4 or 1/3 of the power is 'wasted' getting to temp in a normal 12 minute session. All well and good?

So, the other factor is once you're hot you're hot. If you can cut the session in half you save about 1/3 of the power. So you get 3 sessions (6 minutes each, 18 minutes total) from the power you'd use for 2 (12 minutes each, 24 total because of the third heat up) once heat up is accounted for. There's still serious advantage to shorter sessions I think, at least potentially. There's nothing magic about 12 minutes.

Anyway, best wishes on your quest.

Ok, got home and took my new Solo for her first round trip. Packed both stems then got up on my roof and watched the stars.

First stem I used was the straight one at 4 and then finishing at 5. I then used the bent stem at 5 and then finished it at 6.

Honestly I did not need two stems, but wanted to try them both out with different temperatures. I find I prefer the bent stem and temperature settings 4 and 5.

I also find it nice to medicate outside(since I havent medicated outside since I switched to vaping), a change of scenery is pretty nice. It might of even improved my buzz.

This little device is amazing, yeah it is not as potent as a good desktop, but for being a portable, I am more than satisfied with the vapor output. Thank you Arizer for a wonderful product!!!!!!!

Its completely normal, the snaps dont do anything, the screws are holding the heater together. I wouldnt mess with it

So I ordered my Arizer on Monday with standard ground UPS Shipping. And I've just haven't gotten the chance to say Hello!

I've been vaping for some time now, starting with my 1st MFLB. I liked the convenience and portability but I felt so limited by temperature control.

Next on my list is my N02 which I guess I love but it's never really been all that tasty and now that I'm getting into "reclaiming", it's just missing that spark.
Sooo I prowled the web for the best option for me, price, reliability, flavor, consumption, and price. I had decided on the Arizer, Pinnacle Pro, or 7th Floor Life Saber.

The quality and portability of the Arizer Solo are what won me over in the end.

As a first question, can someone give pics as to how fine to grind for these stems? Is it better to grind fine w/a screen? or to grind a bit less?

Jack of all trades, master of none.
So, I've been using my Solo for a couple weeks. I can't see to produce a lot of vapor. Even at 7. I'm using a domed screen to hold in the small loads I like to use. I fill the bowl up half way at most. Using a fairly fine grind. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Are you getting off? That is is it an extraction problem or cosmetic?

Is it dry? Grind is not important/necessary, but water slows stuff up a lot sometimes.

You should also try a full load or two, you can't expect the same performance on a fraction of the normal load. It might be as simple as 'put more in to get more out'.......

Good luck with it.

Im only on about day 10 with my solo but something I learned hear was to loosely fill the stem to the brim with a medium grind then compact it about an eighth of an inch below the stem so that you have a tiny airspace between the bud and the heater. I make sure to wait an extra minute or so after the heat light is off so the bud heats up thoroughly then draw. I have visible vapor at 2-3 and the taste is awesome for the first 4 to 5 draws then i step up to the level i feel like medicating at, 4 to 5 during the day and up to 7 before bed.
I think your fine grind might be slowing your heat transfer and or your draw rate. I find its fun to try different stems draw rates and stem loads, so much better than combusting. good luck

Ps. Just read what OF said about dryness of your bud and I found the bud I had that was great during combustion was a touch moist for the solo. I put a couple of grams in a paper bag overnight and then it was much better in my solo.

I do get some effects but not nearly as pronounced as my other vapes. I use a fairly fine grind. I guess I can try drying out the flowers a little more but they seem to be fine in all my other units. I guess I shouldn't compare. More trials I suppose.

I have domed screens however I don't use them. I think the design is fine of the heater bowl size. This I leave stock. I cure my medicine at 62% moisture content. That way my settings are constant regardless of the vaporizer used.

Basically you control the humidity of you medicine kind of like a humidor. 62% is a nice level for cannabis!
