Yeah but it's keepin' you busy and me entertained on some level.

Gotta Love it when someone acts as if your attacking their Mothers Honor when Talkin' about a vaporizer that doesn't exist yet.

So, just trolling cause you are bored?
Thanks for your valuable contribution to the discourse....

Trolling is against the rules. Calling someone a troll is against the rules. Just thought I'd mention it.

To be fair it came off a little bit trollish(Not saying he was), at least I can see why he thought that, personally I think the updates seem steady enough, I mean some projects leave people totally in the dark, this one seems to be going ok, smooth but slow at this point, just an opinion after all. Its all opinions at this point until the thing hits...

Yeah, yo' mama iz a vape! :brow:

Just gave $150 to a bunch of kids with no experience in what they're doing... guess I won't be allowed to complain if anything doesn't go according to their "plan".

*going radio silent on this thread until June/July (more realistic release date)* :\
Well I've been patient and kept my mouth shut for long enough! :D

What I'm not too happy about is that at this point we still haven't seen any review or heard of anyone receiving units for some testing and if they stick to their update and ship in september, that probably means that the backers will be the beta testers... :tinfoil:

I'm not being factitious here but rather just a bit lazy to go back and read through this thread. When was the initial projected release date for beta's for the GH?

Taken from the indiegogo campaign page. And no they didn't mean 2015...

Now that you mention it I don't think there was any date for beta testing... looks like the backers will be doing it.

But that was from the initial indiegogo. Yes, their predictions were way off. But anyone that is paying the slightest bit of attention knows that that schedule is ancient history.
I'm not trying to make apologies for them, but it is what it is. I feel like at least they've been up front about their delays.
And I bet I've said this plenty of times before, but if you are going to get bent out of shape about deadlines, then crowdfunding ain't for you. Or actually, getting excited about ANY product that isn't ready for you to buy today- companies routinely show off stuff at trade shows, then people wait and wait and wait.

Well, pay a bit of attention as you like to say good sir and you'll see I was answering @lwien's question. I know very well about the delays and how crowdfunding works as I'm a backer for $200 myself and the Grasshopper is not the first project I've helped funding.
Now do you think crowdfunding also means that beta testing must be done by backers and that no review or usage video are meant to be released before the public has access to the product? I personnally don't think it's a requirement but differnt people, different opinion, right? ;)

Personally as long as all the materials sourced are safe and up to standards I don't mind beta testing, reason being that this has a lifetime warranty according to them(If they follow through)...so if anything messes up I am guessing that covered, would be cool if they did an upgrade thing to like Firewood and Vapolution, say 30-40 bucks for the 2.0, now shaped like a small e-cigg haha....

Their only requirement is to deliver to us backers what they promised and what we paid for.

I don't think they have any duty to go out of their way to appease skeptical FC members by sending out beta versions, or making more videos. I'll trust them to do internal testing like any other manufacturer would. At this point, you either already sunk your money into it, or you have to wait until it's already been released and tested anyway. Updates for backers are always a plus, and compared to other funding I've supported, I'd say they are at least above average.

I really appreciated a lot of the hard questions people threw out when this was announced. This place does force manufacturers to keep it real. But given that the campaign ended months ago, it still feels like some people just WANT them to fail so they can say "I told you so." If this turns out to be a bunch of bullshit, and they release some piece of junk, then you have my permission to ridicule me for wasting a hundred bucks.

(Also, apologies *K, I see you only dug that up to answer a question)

Well, I'm actually waiting to sink my money into it with a preorder already! I trust these guys are doing this right so i dont really need testing to be convinced to support them. Still upset I completely missed this one in December, hopefully they'll open up preorders soon and there won't be too much of a price increase for us wanna-backers...

Same here! The battery is my only concern.. I'm also wondering how warm the unit will get..

I think I trust battery, because it should be at the veryvleast 45min right? And with replaceable batteries it doesn't really matter too much for me (all vapes should have user replaceable batteries). To me this is like an evolution of the Thermovape T1 in every way, so if it has twice the battery life with only one battery thats replaceable I will be plenty pleased (I presume replacents will now be more than $5, but should still be only around $30 give or take, unless their really 3hours on any temp, then its fine for it to be more money bc it wont be so necessary even).

However, also coming from a T1, warmth during use is a big concern of mine as well. That gets too hot to hold and can burn your lips. I do think it seems feasable that there are space grade materials or whathaveyou that can properly insulate the heat and keep it cool enough, so hopefully we won't be burning our lips on 30watts of heat...

I'm also curious about stirring, as most convection vapes need it for medium-large loads. It'll be great if it doesn't need any, but if it does then that idea of having the pocketclip detach as a stirrer tool would be absolutely perfect!

You guys sure are adventurous funding some guys dream of owning a vape manufacturing company. Personally I prefer to purchase products that are tested/reviewed as well as available at time of purchase. Paying for something that is neither tested nor available seems like a generally bad idea.

Wanting to help people with a good idea that excites you isn't what is a bad idea.

Finding yourself so caught up with it's success or failure that you turn into a hand wringing old maid is where the problem lays.

This and the evoke are my two most anticipated vapes. I contributed because the idea and passion made me happy, and it's really not that much money, you know? The campaign made me want to own the device, so giving the money was no issue at all. And if they do succeed, then you'll have a cutting-edge piece that you had to wait a year (or more) for...how good will THAT vapor taste? Pretty damn good to me :D

I think this has a greater chance of actually coming to market, but inductive heat ...

Still looking on track for 2015....I wish I hadn't contributed to this indiegogo campaign, thankfully it was only the $100 level. I wouldn't be surprised if they start asking for more money...
