Like everything in life everyone is different. I'll defo try it with a bubbler but here in my part of the world I was raised (in cannabis terms) on bong mix. Which for anyone from the US is a horrible concoction of toasted tobacco and seriously low grade resin called rocky or soap bar. All the best bongs were home made using a 9 mm socket as a bowl and the bowl would fall through or 'pop' !!!! At a ratio of a gram of rocky to one cigarette it was grim. After 17 years of smokin that every day my lungs said no more and ciggies and low grade resin and bongs and bubblers all got binned. Also one of the things that attracted me to the nano was the economy. If I can get 6 to7 big clouds dry what's so good about using water that I would sacrifice say 5 hits? I know you can get huge clouds but I can get that dry and water and electricity in close proximity scares me. Basically I wanna know if there's any difference in how baked I'll get using similar amounts wet and dry? Shoulda just said that first? Hehe

You won't get more baked but I find that I can get to that level faster with a bubbler as you can take a bigger hit because the water cools it

I'm from the UK splifs is what I smokeed I had also tried many a bongs and things but my lungs could not handed it with vapes is much different

Yes you can get the same clouds from a dry stem as a bong butni hold In my hits any way so I don't blow much clouds with a bubbler I can take big hits on a hotter heat and hold it with a dry stem on the same heat its to hot for me

I use mine dry every time too @fregglepops - I love my all glass stems, and my blackwood stem from Ed's TnT. Before switching to vaping I hadn't regularly used bongs or buckets in years - it was doobies for me - so hitting it dry was almost a straight switch I guess. I absolutely love the flavour my E-Nano produces.

Haven't gotten to try it through water yet, loving it through the stem though and I'll probably be using that the most as it's more convenient.

I let some pretty heavy smokers try the Nano recently, they were never all that impressed by the Solo but the Nano blew their minds. This thing really is the shit.

. I switched from doobs and ciggies to a pax and e cigs. then many vapir products then you good people steered me to the nano. Vaping is almost non existent in my home town. Only other person I know that vapes is my window cleaner. He's a dedicated volcano head. I'll have him in to try the nano next time he's round @Seren I am interesteted in an African Blackwood stem as that's what my bagpipes are made of. They're fully ivory mounted tho so I don't think ed could do what I had in mind. My bagpipes are old so I didn't kill no heffalumps. They were my great granddaddy. Might see if imitation ivory has improved and see if Ed could turn 3. A fat long one for The bass drone and 2 smaller for the tenor drones. Pity I suck at art. Oh yeah drones are the bits that sit on your shoulder when playin the pipes. Hehe

I bring out water tools for special occasions when I don't have to worry about the wrong people seeing the wrong things and getting the wrong impression. On most days if I bring out water tools I'll have to put everything back after I'm done, and after I'm done that's not always an easy task.

Going dry is in my oppinion just as nice and so much more convenient and discrete. With the Nano it's a pleasure going dry anyways. I think I've closed in on a sweet spot too now. :D

Wow. I'd thought most were using water. Being discrete with glass isn't really an issue for me most of the time, so a rinse and refill is all I usually have to do to prep. And, don't have to worry about dumping, cleaning and putting it away after. Do agree it's quicker and easier to just use the stem, though.

I've been playing with using a bit of cotton for reclaim, and that's what really got me thinking more about dry use. Kind of concerned about cotton in the GonG close to water with humid warm weather setting in. The thought of crap growing in it is very unappealing!

Cotton does make the stem not quite as harsh and seems to be picking up particles that I hadn't even realized were there (other than a few specs up the stem). Haven't really built up enough reclaim to vape it yet, so not sure I'm sold on it, but plenty of info in this thread for any who might be interested: Vaping with Cotton .

Don't know if the whole buzz is different with glass vs dry, but it does seem to come on a little different. Must admit that the dry seems to regulate me more and definitely is more intimate (right word?) with the nano & the meds. Through a bubbler it's easy to just keep going and going into oblivion, or until the dish is empty.:ko:

. That's kinda the impression I got skimming this mahoosive thread. I kinda thought dry vaping with a nano was much rarer than it is? Is it just that adding a whole bunch of stuff like gongs etc just throws up problems dry vapers don't encounter? That being said can anyone point me in the direction of an inexpensive bubbler for use with nano?

I don't really feel it's problematic or difficult, then again I can leave my bubbler out. Think the biggest PIA is if you had to empty and put it away after every use. But, a small one could be easily stashed and pulled out when you want it.

You will need a GonG. The epicvape adjust-a-bowl GonG works great, is simple and pretty inexpensive.

There are scads of inexpensive bubblers in this thread. Warning.. it is huge and moves very fast! http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/cheap-high-quality-bubbler.5255/page-300

I've bought a few. IMO the best bang for the buck for use with the nano is this one: http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/d020-w-bubbler-glass-water-percolator-smoking/187455071.html

But, there are many varied preferences and opinions. This bubbler (and most others in that thread) are cheap and made and shipped from China. Workmanship and QC can be spotty, and delivery seems to take about 3 weeks to most. Still, can't beat the price for glass!

Feel free to PM with any specific questions or to help you find info in the cheap bubbler thread if you have some idea of what you're looking for.

I am REALLY enjoying my Nano with a j-hook. I add just a bit of water to the hook to give it a nice 'purr' (I've you've never tried a bit of water in a hook, try it!)

And I've just finished making a working prototype j-hook stand to keep it upright when refilling/loading my GONG stem, making the j-hook much easier to set down when loaded with water (watch my store, I'll be listing the stands for sale soon).

I will. Seriously. I've been looking at options and thinking about drawing something up - it isn't my talent, though.

Don't you just love the love for the nano! With water, without, whole nugs, ground ..... whatever the method, everyone seems to get a great deal of pleasure from this simple but beautiful vaporizer.

A happy Nano Nation are we!

So funny.... was just hitting my nano dry with joda stem, and thought about asking how many use it dry more often. Rarely do that myself except in special situations like tasting a new stash, or out & about. Here's @jimbob talking about it and a newb nano-er right behind him! First time I've sat and played with it for a while. It does bring out the flavor! Even managed to get one of those bingo! hits. Very nice.

So just for shits & giggles, how many people hit their nano dry at least as much as through water?

Myself, I'm thinking I should do this more often.
/
Yes! I like to shove in a nugget and jab it multiple times with my ssv poker, get a nice big hit. Then I take it out and crumble up and hit it dry again. I also love my pipes dry as well as h20, variety is the spice of life, get in the water is warm.

I'm with those people on the dry front. Call me stupid. Quite often, when people talk of bubblers I hear them say 'I can get bigger hits'. What do people mean by this? Surely, the size of the hit depends on a person's lung capactity? Since the thc vapor in a bubbler is less concentrated, wouldn't it make more sense to say 'I get smaller hits? I guess it's another way of saying that your lungs can't take very much dry? Have I got that right?

IMO, no.

With a large volume bubbler I can intake a lot more vapor in a much shorter period of time which gives a much more pronounced and immediate effect.

Look at it like this... Who will feel the greater effects? The guy who drinks a pint of beer at a normal pace, or the guy who put it in a beer bong and shoots it down all at once (even if he ends up spilling some)?

On that note, it's not a coincidence that they are called "beer bongs".

Yes but but the concentration isn't the same. So you could compare a 5% to a 2% beer for example.. Your lung or stomach capacity doesn't change does it?
