Hey, anyone know if JB Weld releases anything unwanted at high temperatures? May be a great fix for this issue if it does not.

Original J-B Weld can withstand a constant temperature of 500º F. The maximum temperature threshold is approximately 600º F for a short term (10 minutes). Refer to individual product packages for more temperature information.


If JB Weld doesn't off gas, the bond it would create between the bowl and bowl-magnet could be "eternal". :rockon:

Great article; evidently we can remove half of the toxins* generated by vaping mj if we keep the temperature to 420f, and remove 75% of them* if we keep it to 390f. Interestingly, the one toxin that remains at 390f (toluene) is considered to be "Much less toxic than benzene".

* by number of toxins, the "concentration % of dry weight" is not known yet for these substances.

check the aromazap thread for jb weld discussion. I have a CD carb tube for my PD that has the ss bowl attached to the glass with jb weld. it has held up for years, but is not in the vapor path. I wouldn't want that shit in the vapor path, but holding stuff together outside the vapor path seems to be what it does well.

@grokit, from the name, would agree with you completely... however...

For a vape, like Herbie that can reach 462.2F, I think the 500º F version has us covered.

I just wanted to thank y'all for all the great information you are putting out there. This thread really helped me get a good grasp on the advantages of Herbie over the volcano and I can't wait until it arrives on Monday so I can officially join the fan club!

Has anyone else got the French greeting yet? Ever time I want to translate it is too quick.
3 months in and I am still getting new messages.
Sometimes me and my friends sit around Herbie,opening and closing the lid.
I have been trying to hit diff button combos and stuff to unleash easter eggs.

Have you tried the konami code? Maybe the temp buttons could be up down, then the left and right could be 2 of the 3 buttons above that and then hit the aromatherapy and vapor buttons for BA and the fan as start? I think that'll be my first guess anyway!

So, my Herbie arrived yesterday. It came proffessionaly packaged and looked awesome! Wait...I opened the clam shell and plugged it in with my excited eyes focused on the display. What came next was a major shock. The display illuminated the dreaded message "SERVICE NEEDED". Talk about a fucking buzz kill!! Anyway, I left them an email message yesterday and a follow up call this morning and left a message. I live in San Diego and was hoping I could swing by their office to get a replacement. Does anyone no if they're open Saturday? I know Josh and staff will take care of me, but at the same time I'm pretty bummed out. Why me? Why? Why??
