I'm actually using my LSV, no adapter yet for my Solo, trying to decide if i should bother or not. But what is a clasien?

Nice! I guess there are no tree percs with right angle male that would leave the bowl facing straight up anyway are there?

Has anyone tried this one

The u-shaped glass after the bubbler. Two gongs on top and one on the bottom. Double the vaporizer

With all the stuff in this thread, how can I possibly narrow down my selection for my first DHGate purchases?

I am thinking one toro microverter knockoff, one tabletop bubbler with a matrix perc, and my combustion buddy wants one larger ridiculous piece.

So really this post is for my buddy:
What huge cheapo pieces are worth consideration?

He is looking for maximum diffusion, crazy stacking, and multiple perks. This thread seams to cater mostly to the 9-14 inch tall pieces, but what are the top choices for larger pieces? Do any of you know what might be worth looking at in the 36 inch [or larger] category?
omg bro u came to the right place.

Edit: ^^^ somewhat relevant link ^^^

Anyone have experience with cheap frits? Spent too much time in the Dave Goldstein thread today, and now fritted discs are on my radar. This is the cheapest/best looking one I've found, but $90 is more than I'd like to spend. Anyone aware of cheaper options? Or should I even bother? And does the frit look like it might be too fine to anyone else? DG's definitely look "chunkier."

This is probably not going to help but you have many frit pipes around the same price to choose from. I dont think they have been cheaper than 80ish.

That ioffer seller also has a website with many options:
http://www.atomicsmokes.com/

Thick quality glass probably has a coupon floating on the internet. Worth clicking to see the videos:

Favorite one:

This ones doesnt seem as good:

Thanks, @olivianewtonjohn

Helpful in that you kinda confirmed what I suspected about the price of these things. I checked out both atomicsmokes and tqg, but both had pretty significant shipping costs. I might try to hunt down a tqg coupon, but (in addition to the price) I like that the stem on the ioffer piece I posted is curved like the DGs. I'll probably just hold off for now.

If you're only experimenting at this stage, why not just get the ash catcher that was linked and a j-hook or mouthpiece? A number of people in the thread have ordered that catcher and said it stacks well with low drag, so you wouldn't be a thread guinea pig on this one. Unlike the $80 pipe you linked, the ash-catcher has a clearly open frit, and offers better ergonomics for vaping as you can clearly watch the can while using it. And it lets you try frits for about $20 total. Hell, you could make a five-or-six-chambered frit bubbler monstrosity for the same price as the $80 bubb. Suh-moooooth. :p

The barrier to try once "exotic" perks like fritted discs is rapidly disappearing in the global market. Jesus, twenty bucks?! If they can make an ash catcher for US$13, they could put a fixed mouthpiece on it instead for basically nothing extra. $14 one-piece 8-10" frit bubbler, anyone? $15 with a base...

I wonder what Dave's thread has made of these developments? He's sure been doing a lot to try to maintain and justify the artificially high pricing of fritted discs.

I bet a lot of blowers are.

To think, in this very thread you can name and post a picture of any name-brand piece you could possibly want, and within 2 weeks DHGate will post a clone.

It is pretty phenomenal the way they monitor this community.

Post anything you like, lets see if they can deliver:D

I know it amuses some of you but I think this just shows what a slipping hold individualism has on the world.

I mean he tried to take a patent out on these which he is allowed to do. Normally this would mean only he could produce the product or license it out for a number of years. Which is the perk of being the first to come up with an idea/invention/innovation.

And now because the world waits for no man and there are furnaces waiting to make money on a new style that perk gets restricted in the global marketplace of knockoffs.

In my opinion individualism and globalism will come to a head.

Not necessarily a bad thing, although it is very sad.

In the future I expect the patent office to also be the licensing office with the prices set by either the government or the inventor.

That way individual freedoms are still protected and everyone can use the new creation without shortchanging the inventor. It will take some decision making out of it where you could also deny your product to someone, but I think they would rather be paid than not.

Of course there is no reason why things must go that way.

The biggest obstacle, unscrupulous business men, would not be removed, so there would still be knockoffs.

Maybe once all nations respected ip laws it would change but I wonder how that would happen.

Keep in mind fritted disks have existed in scientific glassware for decades. I would argue DG's innovation, if he actually can claim anything, is R+D'ing to determine a frit pore size that strikes a nice balance between filtration and tendency to clog with reclaim.
Also, if I were to buy a Chinese frit, I would be sure to give plenty of rinses to try and clean out any glass dust/loose frit. Silicosis isn't fun

I agree with you 100%!
Fritts are cool however definitely not the "HOLY GRAIL"!
I have some and there OK!
Definitely not a must have!
Taking the chips of glass waste from the shop floor to make a diffuser!

WOW?

Regardless if it was made in the USA or CHINA rinse and clean any piece before use.

I had some FRITTED pieces made in the USA that were expensive and the FRIT'S are falling apart.

Regardless of the place of manufacturing I'm a bit reluctant!

If you are innovative you can and will share 'your ideas'...and you will come up with something new eventually...al this patent blabla...real artists do not need this kind of bullshit protection. :2c:

I for one can only see benefits to the real artists, who will be recognized by the community, and who might once in a while sell some piece because someone owned a knock off and decided he liked it so much he bought the real deal...that someone might not have known that glassblower before the knockoff got him interested...again just my :2c:

I liked the first mini rig so much I just pulled the trigger on this one:

I posted that one June 2nd, the piece came yesterday. So 10 days total. Not bad!

BUT! The piece, unfortunately is bad. The quality is good, but the design is off from the picture.

It doesn't recycle since it's an uphill battle to the funnel. Much more drastic than I anticipated, water really doesn't even get in there.

But the main problem and part of the previous problem is where the water is supposed to re-enter the can - it's too low:
0B319RZ.jpg

So to even get enough water in there to get the perk to fire, you end up just sucking up water...

Kinda bummed but that's the gamble in this thing...

So overall I don't recommend the piece above.

EDIT: playing with water levels and will check back in...perhaps pilot error?

So far the 2 successful micro 10mm recyclers from kathy are:

and

I have the first one and @jambandphan03 did a nice review of the 2nd one here:

Low is good for the return line. It should enter below the perk height. If it was higher perc action would go up both lines and there'd be no cycling.

It sounds like you need to play with water levels a bit. Try putting the level around the bottom of the taper in the whirlpool chamber, so it blocks gas flow up the return line, and also reduces the volume in the main chamber that has to fill with froth. You need more water and possibly lower gas flow. The pics you showed look, to me at least, like it should work just fine, as long as you put enough water in there and get the draw speed right.

I am trying to decide on the double barrel, gb187 or the d020. If anyone has all 3 can you post a pic of them side by side and comment on glass thickness. Thanks.

The 187 is basically a D020 that's better in every way. You can pretty safely make your decision between the recycler and the 187. Then it just comes down to how you plan to use the piece and what you want from it, but for most people buying just one piece to vape flowers, I'd say the 187 is the call for now.

I have all three but am at work right now so someone will probably beat me to it with the pic.

All three are 5mm thick. The mouthpiece on the double barrel feels closer to 3-4mm thick.

I like the 187 for my vaporizer and the double barrel for concentrates.

Don't forget about the 194. That piece is killer :D

I am going to give my d020 to a friend that is in need because honestly I have only used the d020 once and I've had it for about 2 months now.

Cool, perhaps I am speaking too soon. I'll play more with the levels later today.

i would reccomend the double barrel because it just rips. i have a 186 but even that doesnt hit me like the double barrel. but idk about the d020, i dont have it

Don't forget about the 194. That piece is killer.

The 194 looks excellent for the price, but if I was only getting one of the 194 or 187, it'd be the 187 every time. Single chambers are just so much easier to live with, use, and clean.

The one big advantage of the 194 versus the 187 is it'll offer much higher diffusion at low draw speeds (high restriction vape scenarios like the Solo, etc), but this isn't of interest to most vapers. With most equipment I'd expect the 187 to have the freer draw and equivalent or higher smoothness. As a "first" or only piece, it's a better all-rounder.

The only gridded upline I've seen in this thread is Herr_Dampf's Cory Glass recycler, which is American.

Why would you want this perc design outside a recycler, though?
