Sounds very interesting! Do you happen to know what resistance ceramic donut heater he chose to use? The original ones were very low resistance (0.3Ω-0.5Ω as I vaguely recall).

He didn't mention what the OHM's were, but he said that he uses it on 4.2v. My current mod wouldn't fire them if they were that low so that would suck, but I do have a Cana Modz DNA30 clone in my future. I did ask him if he sourced his donuts from Fat Daddy's, he said no.

I wasn't gonna pester him anymore, but it looks like the top part is a splash chamber/vapor fill chamber, the base has a conical area for concentrate leading down to that ceramic dish. I dont see any threading whatsoever so I'm thinking powerful magnets? That would be awesome and would make for easy access. Looks like a pretty solid design, likely stainless steel, and I'm gonna say that the drip tip is likely a replaceable 510 that I'll definitely be putting my new sexy ass jade tip on.

Careful with the center pin in your Cana... Been seeing reports of catastrophic battery failures, smoking up/ruining internals/hard shorts from putting atty's on...

I didn't quote all the pictures because they're two messages above this, but I'm very interested from what I see :) I don't think I'd like magnetic connection between the top and bottom; I think I'd wind up separating the two halves more than I wanted, but who knows. I also couldn't figure out what the air path was really going to be like...

Thanks, and PLEASE keep us posted.

where is the coil? under the ceramic?

That's the thing, the ceramic is the coil. It's like a ceramic skillet that heats up and your concentrate goes right on it. Look up a video or google image of Fat Daddy's Vapin' Donuts and you'll get the jist.

That's why I'm waiting. Hoping they work out all the kinks. Especially the 1 press to wake up from sleep before firing.

Just keep posted on his site. I pretty much provided all I know :) The magnetic connection would simply rock because you'd never strip anything and it makes for super quick access to push your product around if need be.... BUT, that's just speculation that it even is magnets. Pretty sure that photo was a prototype as he's awaiting shipment from his manufacturer.

i am familiar with the donuts, but since they arent porous i didnt see how they could be used for solids w/out a lot of mess. this has walls that would keep the oil in place and on top of the ceramic... i like. excuse my ignorance but can this piece be rebuilt?

I feel like the design was trying to mimic a ceramic nail (no wicking required) and if it works that would be amazing. How big is that atomizer, I was going to guess a little bigger than an aerotank?

It would be cool if the top chamber was clear so you could see the vapor, it is basically acting as a globe right?

I think we should have a better understanding when it's released because we haven't had any time with it and I myself haven't even had time with the donuts at all. Like tut said the donut will act as a ceramic nail so it should just vape all concentrate - no pores or wicking needed. Looks like it would be very difficult to rebuild but that would be quite amazing if it was. He keeps his prices very low so I'm going to say a replacement coil would only be around $10 and that ceramic should hold up a very long time. The whole atomizer itself for a first time purchase will go for $19 he said, and he usually included 1 spare coil but no promises again.

I'm not quite sure, I would agree that it's about the width of an aero tank, maybe a tad larger in height? Yeah it would be cool if the top chamber was clear, and yes it does seem that it's acting as a "globe", but I do think the full stainless does make for a more stealthy vape and a MUCH more durable tube to save for replacements (I'm rough with my ecig and have broke many glasses on my Kanger tank so it helps)

It probably wouldn't hurt to send suggestions over to him. I'm real happy to have found his ultra small company, and right at the time he's releasing a new and exciting product. He majorly needs some sort of advertising and promotion, I feel like I'm doing him the favor right now, haha. If the donuts hold up he might set a new standard for those in the pen game

Side note: skillet comes in a day early today - he shipped next day, Monday, and I ordered Sunday. Got some Mahatma Black Label Jillybean shatter and some 73m Tangerine Sunshine bubble to give her a try.

The FDV vapin donut (repurposed heating element from "glade plug in" air fresheners) needs 20W+ to work well, because of its large mass. I wonder what ineedhemp has got going, that will work well on the Ego platform (~9W).

Also, I don't see the air intake hole, the achilles heel of most attys. I worry that is polyfill I see bedded under the heating element, I hope I'm wrong!

I don't know the rules on unregistered suppliers here, but it would be neat if you invited him to post here!

These are 1.2ohm at least that is what they are reading on my ego 1300 mega. My manufacture said we can use any ohm. These will be in on Monday I hope. Ineedhemp. Google us.

So glad to see you poking your head here, Matt. This would be a great place to promote your product! You should start a Divine Tribes thread in the Portable ECig area.

I think I will. My manufacture told me last night these will be .7 -.8ohm. He is not sure why my sample is reading so high. I have noticed that coils change in ohms after some use. I have a gold twist I sell, and at first this other rod coil worked for the full 10 seconds on it. Then slowly the twist would start blinking before the ten seconds. After some time. The coil would not fire at all on that battery. I checked the ohms and it dropped from 1.7 to .8. On some atomizers the ohms went up. From 1.7 to 2.6. Most of the time if there is movement it is usually down. But overall the donut atomizers I think will be the norm. It will need a mod to fire it. So many mods have 1.2 - 1.5ohm protection circuits. So finding a battery to fire these will be a point I have to make when selling these low ohm attys.

Officially became the best thread ever.

To note, all of DivineTribes stuff is great. You can literally go anyway in customizing your setup. BUT the big thing is the NEW Atomizer. We all know what were waiting for. :brow:

Also this is a huge deal, divinetribe provides efficient portable vapes under $100, we've all paid and invested a lot into this technology so it's good to see innovation and what looks like some of the first big steps in wickless technology.

will i be able to use my 18350s in a mech mod for this? i love the short form the 18350s allow and dont want to mess with VV/VW devices.

also, can the donut be removed, torched and replaced easily?

@divinetribe Are you actually a China MFG, or a US supplier? If so I almost did business with a MFG for these atties last year, but the order fell through because the coils weren't replaceable at the time. I'd like to chat with you if possible, about another prototype...of my own design. Thanks!

edit: FWIW If you're wondering how the vaping doughnuts work, imagine this NFC tag as a kanthal coil, and instead of plastic sheathing (not shown) its a non-pourus ceramic coating, forming a disc. See the contact points? Thats where the wires come out from. Also, the resistance will change as the wire coil inside the ceramic settles from constant heating/reheating.

hey ,
my name is matt my website is ineedhemp.com, i live in the bay area of CA. I have been to China 3 times and i feel i have good control over my manufacturing. the large skillet above, now comes with a better less wasteful replacement unit so they will be $cheaper and better because you wont need to throw away so much metal when the coils go out. feel free to call me or email me through my site.
my number is on there

Awesome!! Communication was the biggest factor and it sounds like you got that down pat with your MFG in China. Well pretty who we were talking to wouldn't budge with custom stuff until 5 figures came about, and that didn't interest my buds at all, considering this was all hypothetical. I'm going to try and re-assemble team-fuck-grenco, I hope everyone is still interested :D

Hi everyone. I bought a MFLB recently and i`m quite happy with it. For vaping green it works great. A few days ago i tried the trays for concentrates with a little marroc. There comes a little vape out and i can taste the marroc but there is no real vape production as with green. I made the switch from cigarettes to an Ego-C a year ago and i never want to smoke again. Also i`m looking for a non too-expensive way to vape marroc. The MFLB does not do that job for me, maybe with a power adapter but that will cost me $$ and batterylife is no issue for me. Now i read about vaping oil and wax in pens like the Ego but i know that just putting a small piece marroc in won`t work:lol: Do vaping pens where you can just put solid concentrates in the chamber exists? And if yes what would be the an affordable option for getting some quality vape?

@mplx honestly your question is too general to be tackled here. You need to do some reading and research. If by marroc you mean Kief then the answer is not really, you can burn it but it does not evaporate.
