Hi and welcome to the forum.

I don't think it's that unusual for people to get nauseous after eating herb. I know I have on occasion. It could have been the abv, the nutella or the combination of those with the bread. You could try using the abv in a different method or with a lighter base like graham cracker instead of the bread.

You also didn't mention if you felt any effect from the abv that you ate. If you did have some effect, maybe eat a smaller amounts or two doses of a smaller amount, spacing them a bit.

Hello yeh I felt some effects though they werent strong, such as everything felt kinda heavy but there was practically no head high. Extremely hard to enjoy also bcuz I had to puke and change a pose on bed or floor every 2 seconds or so.. :D Felt relieved when I got some sleep and after 6hours from eating it the nausea disappeared and didnt feel any effect anymore either

Yeh I guess i will try it again.. I wondered if I could be so allergic to the weed that it made me nauseous? Since sometimes when I touch alive plants I get red spots on me and sometimes very resinous bud makes me sneeze. I mean it was my first time ever eating anything cannabis related even ive been smoking and vaping over 10 years..

I guess the possibility of your being allergic is there. But I don't know that nausea would be the result of an allergic reaction.

My guess is still that it just upset your stomach. It happens. Maybe edibles aren't going to be your thing. If it happens again, I'd say that's the case.

I think nausea is more likely if you actually eat the ABV itself. You might want to try making some cana-butter or cana-oil from it. Many techniques and recipes right here on FC in the Cooking with Cannabis thread. I tend to like butter better for ease of use. No need to cook with it, just slather some on a warm bagel or whatever you like. Taste is more subtle, too. Especially if you throw some peanut butter or nutella on top of it.

Only ABV always gives me a very body heavy buzz, too. I try to go 1/2 ABV and half fresh. Works well even if using scraps or schwag.

Another fun trick is to put a very resinated vapor piece in warm milk for reclaim. Need a pretty cruddy piece, and not as intense, but works OK.

Did you decarboxylate the ABV material? Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe vaping the herbs does this process, the ABV still needs this to happen. The THC is tied up with other molecules and needs heat/time to release. Smoking temps do this automatically. Vaping temps leave ABV that needs to be treated/heated before ingesting. 30 minutes in oven at 175-200 F does this process. Without this, the herbs are more like eating lawn grass/ little high and greater possibility of upset stomach.
Too high of a temp releases the THC---don't want that to happen.
Again---I think this still needs to be done with ABV material. for sure with raw MJ.

Suggestion, as it may be plant matter related.

Brew ABV Coffee?

Regular amount of coffee, your desired dose of ABV, a teaspoon of coconut oil. (Creme in place of coconut oil, if desired. Heavy whipping creme for fat content).

Good Luck and hope this helps!

Vaping Decarb's the bud, you can only do it once.

Thanks, searching further I find the decarb process happens if herbs are evenly brought to:
105 C or 220 F, so vaping would get that done.
One article said to set oven at 310 F for decarbing raw herb--but that would release THC too....

I wasn't sure about the brief time period for vaping, if that decarbed all the material.

thanks for the clarification

It's probably from the cystolithic hairs. Some people are more prone to digestive issues when eating cannabis. I can stomach small amounts of decarbed cannabis (< 1 gram), but not much. I guess some people have digestive issues from chlorophyll as well. I don't know if the chlorophyll is altered via vaping, maybe it is not an issue with abv. Sometimes for some reason my belly doesn't get bothered after eating ground decarbed cannabis.

My plan with all my abv is to make a not so quick ISO wash, drive off the ISO, and make some edibles with the resultant oil, mixed into coconut butter. This weekend I had considered doing what you mentioned, glad I didn't. I really think it depends on the individual, though, and I have stomach problems sometimes.

Did you grind the abv in a coffee grinder really well before eating it?

Hope you are feeling better.

Decarboxylation is a function of time and temperature.

Eating the avb in a sandwich like that is a huge amount of fibre, so you can get a bad stomach ache from it. Better to make something like butter or oil and mix it into something.
