Smoking MJ Gives Me Upset Stomach, Will Vaping?

I have a very sensitive stomach due to an injury. I tried smoking weed a few days ago, and it made me instantly sick. When I smoked it before my injury it didn't, so I know it is not the weed. It is the same strain since my friend grows it. My doctor told me it is common that people with sensitive stomachs get sick from smoke. He does not have any problem against weed. He even told me it should help my anxiety a bit.

I asked him if vaping will hurt my stomach like the smoking did. He didn't know.

Has anyone had this problem and found that vaping did not upset their stomach? I would think that the vapor is no different from humid air that one inhales.

Depends what you are vaping ;)
If you vape a dried piece of shit then you may get a tummy ache.

If you are vaping weed then it won't effect yours stomache in a negative way. I used to get hit with nasty tightness and stabbing in my stomach when I had a combusted bong, and I know that it was the harshness of the smoke that did it.
You're idea of what vapor is is spot on :) It's harmless, and if you find any irritation of the vapor in your mouth, throat or lungs there are many options to fix it. Vape for longer at a lower temp (and most likely get higher by using your product more efficiently) or get a bubbler/water filtration glass piece to lessen the intensity of it :)

I will be vaping an extract oil with a PG base. I have heard that VG causes stomach irritation and headaches.

PG and VG are non-toxic organic compounds and generally considered safe for consumption. In fact, they are widely used as food additives in a variety of commercially available products HOWEVER, PG has left gunk buildup and is lighter so it vapes better :) I think VG makes more clouds though.
and extract oil will be fine for your stomach as far as I know. If you do find that it irritates yours stomache, you can always mix your oil of choice with another oil that is specifically for the relaxation of the stomach, such as ginger, peppermint, spearmint di-gize, nutmeg and tarragon essential oils!

You mean 'in your opinion'. You certainly can't predict what will or won't affect someone who's stomach is abnormal due to an unknown injury, and that would be true even if you're an MD.

Just know that with PG you're throwing another variable into the mix. If it were me I'd certainly try vaping, but I also wouldn't give up if "an extract oil with a PG base" didn't agree with me. If it didn't I think I'd probably try just plain ole bud.

There is a world of difference between smoke and vapour in terms of how they effect the body, smoke is relativity more harmful so more likely to cause a negative reaction.

My advice is to experiment with tiny amounts of vapour then increase slowly over a period of weeks/months.

Btw your doc sounds like a keeper.

Yeah in my opinion, sorry my mistake. I'm not a doctor or anything.
