From personal experience, I would tell you to get a WISPR (in spite of never being able to get a working unit), or an Arizer Solo. I would stay away from the MFLB if you are worried about "a lot of fiddly bits", as this does in deed ring true with my experiences regarding the unit.

Based on conjecture I would suggest that you also look into the PAX, as it sounds like it would fit most of your needs for a portable pretty well. It is probably the next portable I will buy, especially if I can get a good deal on it.

Thanks for all the top tips. I have never known a forum with such obviously massive enthusiasm for the subject.

Still very tempted by both the WISPR2 for portability and no battery worries, but I also love the Solo. I was pretty satisfied with my iolite and it continues to serve well, so any improvement on that would seem like a bonus (for only £100).

Will continue to consider this for some time... :hmm:

I actually find I enjoy the al stem at home sometimes too. It's really smooth and sometimes just nice not having to take out and fill up a bong.

I can speak for the outstanding quality and durability of my Arizer EQ. I'm sure the Solo would be a beast! Arizer is a great brand from what i've experienced so far :)
