NANO IS HERE :p

First impressions, (gonna lose a lot of man points for this but...) IT'S FREAKING ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!! I knew it was small but like many have said, didn't realize it was THIS small! It's basically the size of my pepper shaker. It's SO CUTE that I've already affectionately named it. When a name just pops into your head upon first sight, you KNOW it was meant to be!

The BEST part is that it fits on the GB-186! I totally thought I would've needed to spring for an adapter from Oregon Glass Blower but it fits perfectly (with about 1mm of room to spare).

The WORST part is that I can't actually test her out until tonight. Swamped with work and I told myself I gotta get business done before playtime (even though I've been distracted the whole day knowing it was coming today).

I'll post back later with some reviews. Hopefully it'll be along the lines of OMG OMG OMG it's so efficient AND so cute!

(Okay I've met my quota for using the word "cute" for the year.)

Hi herbi, my nano gets pretty darn hot to touch at setting 8, and I am getting very dark ABV when doing super slow draws (with the glass stem). From first use though, the heat has always been focused to one side of the load. Of course with stirs this evens out.

I use anywhere from:
7.75-8 dry
7.25-7.4 through the bubbler

Normal/faster draws don't work very well using the direct draw stem. This exacerbates the uneven heating. I'm talking a green to brown ratio of 50/50 on the top layer of herb after one hit. I think through the bubbler it heats loads more evenly, perhaps due to gravity. I haven't used the bubbler much though.

I have no experience with electricals but I'm sure I could find someone who does to test it for me. I feel it's probably a non issue though. I certainly can char the ABV at my heating temps, but again it shows up first on one side :D

I know the heating element is crooked, so even when it's seated properly inside the SS chamber, the tip of the element looks like it's basically touching one side of the chamber. This happens to be the side that my herb cops a majority of the heat on. Andy got back to me about it and said this is how it's supposed to be. Maybe the element touches the SS chamber so the entire chamber gets to a hotter temp

Edit: Thought I'd better add a pic..

The simple fix to this problem is to slowly rotate your Nano as you draw.

Since everyone else is showing off their wood-porn. I thought I might share my Figured Walnut Exotic E-Nano - at first I wasn't too big of a fan, but this walnut really is growing on me! I finally got around to setting up the photo booth for a few FC related pictures, lol.

Here's a link to the full album - http://imgur.com/a/yW55N - i'll post a few of my favorite shots below

Note those horizontal stripes (figured grain?) are not visible from all angles. In lower light, only the true walnut grain is visible. But when the light hits it, those tiger stripes show up across the whole piece. After a few nano sessions, those grains really pop almost in a holographic effect. Really a work of art!

Any chance someone has the actual physical dimensions of the e-nano?

Seen a lot of pics but its pretty hard to judge the height or diameter from them. Most of the comments remark how small it is, so I am curious.

I dig this. Reminds me of the stereo equipment my dad had when I was growing up.

How would you compare the Nano to your SSV? Which do you like more?

The biggest thing is the whip from the ssv vs. The all glass from the nano. I primarily use water and I think the nano is one of the best and easiest plug-ins to use with a bubbler. (Too many @Caligula videos...) Not having to deal with the whips is the main reason I like the nano more.

Aesthetically I find the log and small size preferable to the ssv too but that's obviously subjective. But the small size again factors into ease of use with my bubbler.

In terms of clouds, the nano gets them just as big as the ssv. The ssv can be just as efficient as the nano but you just have a tendency to pack more with a bigger wand.

I can already tell the nano and I will have a very close (platonic -- I swear!) relationship and strictly use it solo while the ssv will be for the groups.

Edit:
I guess the review wasn't short afterall. You tricked me @Ratchett !

I'll sneak out another one. Pm me

Well that was may 14th. I've communicated with you a few times since then and you have done nothing. I paid for 2 day shipping when I bought your product and you sent me a bad gong then claimed on here you will get one out and I have still been waiting after messaging you a handful of times about the issue. I know your busy, but this is ridiculous.
