I found that on a google search too a few months ago, before finding the FC forum. If you read closer to the reviews you will see people completely confused how High Times could have recommended such a piece of crap. It must come down to money. Whoever decided to rate it number 1 prolly benefited monetarily from doing so.

I see someone claim this at least once in every vape thread and it's an extremely misleading claim that quite frankly, can lead to someone getting in a lot of trouble. I don't care what vaporizer you use, if you're vaporizing flowers (and even concentrates), IT WILL SMELL. Vapor may dissipate a lot quicker than smoke and have less smell, but vapes do not work magic and make your material smell free. Just putting that out there for anyone who may be under that impression. Don't need to see anybody locked up over an old wives tale.

true but the smell is exponentially less than if you burned. the smell is different as well...similar to fresh grapefruit. and if you smoke oil (my main goal) you can easily mask it. since it is practically impossible to tell what is in an oil based on smell and sight alone, it would be difficult at best to obtain probable cause. they even make a fake weed flavoring further complicating matters. I smoked a straight wax vape (no flavors masking it) near a bouncer and no one seemed to notice

The smell is definitely less than when combusting but the smell is still there, creating a serious risk factor for those who are under the false impression that vape pens magically mask odors. As for it being "practically impossible to tell what is in an oil based on sight and smell alone" and "difficult at best to obtain probable cause", those are exactly the kinds of claims that create a false sense of security in many people and can lead to someone being locked up and/or losing their family and freedom.

Quality oil (NOT store bought trim bs) will often smell exactly like the strain used to make it. I can't keep my GSC wax open in my house for more than a minute or so without the entire house reeking. Same with Sour Diesel. The terp profiles in strains such as these are simply off the charts. That brings me to my last point. Authorities aren't clueless and will immediately recognize the familiar smell of insanely potent marijuana and that is all they need for their probable cause. Not only will that oil that's "basically impossible to tell what's in it off of site and smell" get you in trouble, but it will carry a much stiffer penalty than flowers because concentrates are considered a "manufactured" drug.

its still illegal here so im limited to what my local guy has or sr. I dont own a mass spectrometer but it gets me higher than any bud could come close to; and ive been smoking all day, every day save for when I take tolerance breaks for about 15 years now. the bho looks like the amber from Jurassic park and tends to shatter like glass when broken in half. (hurr durr low quality). its also annoying brittle.

....it doesnt smell..not one bit...infact you can stick the container up your nose and only smell the plastic from the vial.

coughing can still give you away but coughing alone isnt pc...people get coughs for other reasons. having a vape pen isnt pc...they are made for other things...dark oil isnt pc....grape. smell isnt pc....doesnt smell or taste like weed, just vaguely citrusy.

im no lawyer but im close friends with a few... I can ask them

edit: actually i just smelled it up close....it does smell faintly but not like weed...its just vaguely citrusy.

also i was thinking about it......i didnt mean to sound like i was advocating smoking in front of a cop or anything like that but i would have no qualms about taking a hit at the movies or at a bar....i usually feel like a dick doing this so i go into a bathroom or someplace discreet. also i dont doubt yours smells, maybe we should make a list of products that smell and stuff

You are smoking shatter, which has upwards of 90-96% active ingredients... While subtle, I have tested it with cop friends and yes, they notice the smell and said if they were on the street with someone doing this, they would search and arrest them, sending in the entire e-cig for testing etc. So, just for having a pen on you, you could get booked, though you could have a decent lawyer probably throw it out for having trace amounts...however, I agree with kindbeats.
I have seen people smoking pens in public in dangerous states and they think no one knows but everyone they walk by smells it and either smiles or frowns...those reactions aren't from the e-cig I assure you

a cop just saw me smoking it and waved at me....and I guess if your vape looks like a crack pipe than you should be more discreet. mine hides in your hand and is barely noticeable so I dont know what to tell you

your risking a lot on the assumption that every cop doesn't care. Thankfully more and more find weed arrests as more annoying than anything and actually try to ignore it. But all I am adding to Kindbeats, was that people who are familiar with the smell can pick it up more than randoms. Just like if you quit smoking cigarettes, you become more sensitive to tobacco smoke (at least the folks in my family thats true).

I admit I have taken to using my pen on the streets every now and then. It is a bit liberating. However, there are inherent risks associated unless you live in Colorado

This is the worst pen style vape/dabber I have ever used. For one you can't put enough dry herb in it to get a decent hit. If you like concentrates it works good...until the heating chamber goes out, and believe me, they go out quick when you use concentrates. You can order replacement cartridges online for $30 plus $20 s/h, or go to a local head shop and pay ridiculously for it. The battery is tempermental, just like the unit as a whole. Over priced and over rated in my opinion.

Exactly what I was saying. I love vapes and I use my super stealth kit Persei in public all the time, but I am also aware of the trouble it can bring to people, regardless of what they may or may not believe.

I have but please realize that Pure Gold is an exception due to the process used and the limonene (hence the citus smell/taste) added to the oil. I promise I'm not trying to bust your balls in any way. I just want to make sure yourself and others don't get yourselves arrested. Vape on, my friend!

any opinions on an atmos vaporizer kit? pros or cons. is it worth having if i have and love my mflb?

I assume like a lot vapes there are some knock off "Atmos Raw Jr's" out there in the market? My wife (who doesn't personally vape or really keep up any of the models and such) got one one of these, the day before I ordered my Indica. She wouldn't tell me what she paid for it..But looking on e-bay I see several on there for around 20 to 30 bucks. Seems a little to good to be true.... Maybe it will at least be a decent electronic pipe for a little while.

I just bought the Atmos RAW and you are certainly right...it SMELLS!

So far really happy with it I just need some stronger stuff so I don't have to keep packing back to back to back to get the effects I was expecting.

The piece itself even smells! I had it in my pocket and my wife (who hates the stuff) was around me and it was smelling through my pockets. Made me nervous!

hey does anyone know if you can soak the AR heating chamber in iso alcohol??? I just recently purchased the Atmos about 3 weeks ago and I love it!!! I only use the pen for concentrates never flower so the coil get gunked up so I'll dry burn the coil to try n burn off anything that is left behind. When dry burning the pen gets hot and i don't want to break or damage the battery by letting it get to hot. So i've tried taking a q-tip soaked in iso alcohol and twisted it around in the chamber but that only cleaned it so good, I would like to drop the whole heating chamber in a container of iso alcohol for a few hours and hopefully the coil will be back to new. The reason I'm asking before i do so is because i dont want to damage the heating chamber but submerging it in the alcohol. Any one that can help me on this topic would be greatly appreciated!!!

Not sure if people have completely given up on this little device or not. But anyways, I got an Atmos Raw for free. Read through this thread, so made sure to order both the glass screen and some v02 screens. Im actually getting decent vapor, no combustion.

My Setup is placing the glass honeycomb screen in first. I noticed its a pretty loose fit, so herb could easily slip down the side to combust, so I also took at v02 Screen (barely trimmed) and using the little stir tool they gave you, pushing the screen all the way down till its sitting on the honeycomb disk.

You have to just keep heating up the chamber until it gots, so hot you can barely touch it. Then the technique is heat for 9 seconds, let off for 3, heat for 9 seconds, let of for 3, press heat again and inhale holding the button till it auto shuts off. With this I get a nice thick cloud of vapor, no combustion.

Is it ideal? No. This is not amazing vape in any sense, but for decently cheap (could build the same device with an ego battery and the dry herb chamber for about $35 on ebay) vape that fits in my shirt pocket, its pretty decent for what it is.

I still use my Firefly at home, with friends, or anytime im traveling to someplace I will be for awhile. But now I take the Atmos Raw with me when im just going for a walk, to the park, a family bbq etc.

Anyone here have experience with use of low quality Moroccan hashis (common in northern Europe), in the Atmos Raw?

Wow this freaking site is so thorough. This was my first vape pen, I didn't know what was supposed to happen and like most ended up combusting. With the glass screen you can get a few vape hits before combustion. It sits in a shoe box with a few other things I never use. bought it new used it for a few months but never got the quality hit I needed to feel satisfied so I would just push the herb down to combustion.
