The vapors are still wispy.

What are you comparing it too? I find the nano doesn't look like it is milking up my piece, but then I blow out a huge cloud.

I initially started with the D020-w and the Nano together (both arrived the same day), but tried switching to the smaller volume D020 to see what that would do to performance - results are the same unless I rip the nano so hard the air inlets whistle!

IMO, you won't see as much milk from these smaller pieces like you would in a much larger chamber. Doesn't seam the vapor stays in the D020 or D020-W long. And lighting plays a huge role on being able to see the vapor.

I've been noticing the Resin build up on my Cloud buddy is much different with the nano than my other vapes. Like its a much finer, smaller particle resin.

Comparing it to my Lotus. When I get my lotus going, I can white-wall my D020 with no problem. I can't even get half as much vapor produced by the Nano in the same glass with the same load of herb without chugging like a freight train.

Like I said, I find it odd that when I pull HARDER the vapor production increases. Unlike both other vapes I use (Ascent and Lotus), which the harder you pull the less vapor they produce (because you're dropping the temperature too fast). But the Nano is a different story.

I'm not ready to declare it defective yet, I'm going to keep playing around tonight changing 1 variable at a time to see what happens to the performance. (much to my wife's chagrin, I'm sure)

Is this because the Nano simply has more power and heat to give, so when you're pulling harder you're getting more heat instead of losing too much like with an Ascent?

That big ol' heater it's got (compared to other logs) has to be doing something, right?

Harder pull, more heat, more force to get through all your herb...:shrug:

Shit, I don't know...

Whenever I get white walls with the nano I'm always concerned it has reached combustion temp.

Idk, hope you figure it out.

Your making me want to buy the Lotus now, :p. Seen a Hammer for sale but would prefer to have a Lotus that can use any torch.

Going to say it again, strange. When I pulled hard I got whispy hits. Slow and steady and I was breathing out vapor until my lungs were empty. pretty sure there was still a bit left.

Hopefully your tests tonight solve the problem!

Ordered my nano Friday morning and it arrived TODAY - Ridiculously fast shipping (thanks, @ACE OF VAPE)! I've seen tons of pictures of nanos, but I was still surprised at how tiny this thing is. Gotta admit I've been a little jealous of all the exotics you guys have been posting lately, and maybe I even felt a tinge of regret that I didn't order one, but now that I've got the walnut in my hands I'm 100% satisfied. Really beautiful piece!

Sigh my nano still hasn't arrived yet. I also ordered Friday morning but haven't received notice of shipping. I'll give Andy an email and hope he'll get back to me soon. Watching you guys share stories is killing me :(

I've had orders from Andy ship without tracking notification before.

I never got any shipping notification. Hang in there, @slvelocity!

I agree with @EveryDayAmnesiac that the solid, constant heat output of the nano is why harder pulls produce more vapor (instead of less as with many vapes). Seems like temp can keep up with much more airflow. Haven't used another vape that can do that as well - except maybe the cloud. And have only had the opportunity to try one a few times over about an hour, so not much experience there. But, IME no way the EQ, DBV, solo and least of all the MFLB can stay up to temp while hitting it hard.

If you were combusting at 10, sounds like the heater is up to temp. Know you said you've been trying everything, but have you tried pushing the heat up some? Go to like 8, 8 1/2?

Also... clouds mean different things to different people. When you're getting clouds out of the Lotus, are you on the verge of combustion? I've never used one, but have seen more than a few vids where it looks like people are using it a lot hotter than I would. IMO, thick vapor (that evaporates to nothing within seconds of exhale) is better than nearly smoke. Not all agree. For me, if I want smoke on occasion - I just smoke. Not saying you do this Ratchett, but seems many on here push their vapes up to just about combusting. To each their own and all that happy shit - but, that's not really my thing. When I vape I want vapor - and for me that's not even close to smoke. So a nice vapor cloud in my D020 (or W) is certainly visible in the glass, but you can easily see the downpiece that goes down the center through the vapor. On the glass I smoke through (like the D020's), when I put a flame to it there's no way you could see anything inside - least of all the downpiece in the center.

So... maybe you just need some more heat to get up to temp to produce the clouds you're looking for - and extract more of the components you're trying to squeeze out. I'd try using very small loads (2 hit size) and bumping it up 1/2 dial notch on each new one.

And definitely get that cotton out of there - at least until you get used to the nano. The learning curve isn't nearly as much as most vapes, but still takes a little practice to get her to behave as you like on demand. You also may want to try hitting it straight from the GonG (super short stem - or Vitolo method) or running it through glass with no water until you get a feel for getting her to produce as you like. It's a shame your stem didn't make the box, though I'm sure Andy will make it right. I find it's a lot easier to get a feel for things when going dry, whether from the nano or anything else.

Thanks for the assurances guys! I know Andy is very busy and basically running things as a one-man team so I tried to be patient through the weekend but couldn't resist sending an email this morning lol.

Crossing my fingers things will still work out then!

It'll come. They always do. Patience, young nano-wan. Friday was all of one business day ago!

If you want that fast/instant gratification, go down to your LHS and plop down more money for less vape.

Just hang in there, and bide your time going back through the thread so you know what you have when it gets there. Please don't miss all the posts of others being impatient and coming back saying the same damned thing... "Oh, it is so fucking worth the wait!" - even those who had to wait months back in the beginning. You might even find one from me. :D

Haha I fully understand I was a bit "trigger happy" and premature emailing Andy already. I was just worried since people were getting tracking updates left and right and the chap above me got his unit at the same time I ordered mine.

Patience is a virtue. My lady has told me on many occasions I'm not virtuous enough

No worries! Hear you loud and clear. I suffer the same and hear about it from "her" frequently.

Posted the response some for you, but as much for others. Over the past year and a half I don't think there has been one that didn't reach its destination.

Just know the wait is definitely worth it. You may be one of the very few who isn't blown away by the nano, but odds are in your favor!

Speaking of which..... hope @Ratchett is having better luck with his!

Sometimes it just takes a little practice and persistence. Like I said above... learning curve is minimal, but there is one. Still think by the 10th session you should have it down pat if you've done your homework here. And, even if you haven't you should be well on your way to vaping bliss.

Ah, those were the days, eh, @flotntoke ? I can remember them like it was only last year...

Back in those days, this thread used to move a lot slower...

Thank goodness for early adopters... ;)

Maybe I will get back on the Nano's nuts if the right exotic pops up... we'll see. I must say, I like how @Caligula 's unit didn't have a hole cut in it, but had a natural one for the light. I would need something like that...

HaHA! Yes, like only last year. Even though I think we all knew we were on to something, I had no idea how great this vape would be, how much I would continue to enjoy it, or how popular it would become. All great things!!

I noticed the same thing about @Caligula 's new one! That is WAYYYYYY cool. Glad you mentioned it. I keep forgetting.

Kind of pissed at him for posting the beautiful pics of it, and more pissed at Andy for being so slick with the design like that. I had my desire to pick up an exotic in check until I saw that. Now? Not so much!:uhoh:

Squelched my VAS on the cheap tho... getting a new-to-me portable from a fellow FC'er. Hopefully, that will tide me over for a bit.

Aren't you missing your nano, yet? The HI looks way sweet (my number's a comin!), but will probably keep my nano forever. If for no other reasons... foolproof, efficient, portable enough (just need to find a plug), and oh so effective!
