Mine is charging but I won't be home until the evening, I'll see if can make a video tonight, if not, most likely in the morning. I unfortunately got gold instead of purple but it was expected that they didn't have purple at the time. I also am not delighted my package was in Chicago for an entire week, I ordered May 9, they shipped out May 12, it was delivered on the 29th.

150$ price tag on this unit is pretty overpriced.... No warranty and might break in a month of use.... someone's already complaining about sliding door after a week.

$50 for the Unit
$25 for DHL shipping
$3 for paypal charges
$25 custom import fees

$103 total

now if you put it to 80$ price tag

$80 for the unit
$25 for DHL
$3 for paypal
$30 custom import fees or more

$138

compare it to arizer solo which you can get for 160$ and also get $15 4 piece grinder.

Arizer Solo:

Temperature control
Warranty

Flowermate Vapor Max

Affordable

your paying 60$ for Warranty and Temperature Control..... :2c:

Please Stop jacking the price of this already.... and if your comparing it to PAX well PAX is overpriced.

GRASSHOPPER for 99$ compare it to FLOWERMATE..... that speaks for itself

How can you compare it to a vaporizer that isnt on the market. We still have yet to see if the grasshopper can make good on its promises. If the grasshopper actually vaporizes vs. Combusts then it shpuld have a big market at 99$ but when we already know that the vapormax flowermate does not combust...provides good vapor..and has great battery life so it seems a little premature to trumpet the grasshopper as better or even comparable.

My opinions on this bad boy :leaf:

I love it!

A few tips for ppl. If you really want a "hard hit" just let the bowl heat up a little longer between hoots. Personally I'm not a huge fan of large hoots (seems like a waste) so I just puff away.

This thing is so easy to clean and I haven't even had to use the brush. Additionally a fair amount of "oil" collects at the bottom of the mouthpiece (metal part) and that can saved for a rainy day. The oil is runny when warm and sticky gooey when cooled.

In my opinion this vape is certainly better than the Davinci 2.0. For portability it is better than the Solo as well.

If you want really toasted buds just let the chamber heat longer between hoots. Stirring the buds a bit half way will allow a few extra vapes as well. I've get about 30 hoots each bowl.

Like others say ditch the ceramic filter. Putting the silicone section of the mouthpiece in the freezer is nice as well.

I would say if this was designed by an American company it would be a premium product in the $150-$200 range when compared with others. The price tag is a real bonus.

Re: warranty. Google "vapormax flowermate warranty" you can certainly get a warranty depending on who you buy it from up to one year .

You can get those things all over ebay for , <$90 delivered, You can avoid the language barrier and import BS, return BS potential and do a little good for a small business entrepreneur on your way out the door.

The unit works like a champ.

In regards to smell, I have mostly been using the VV for lunchtime sessions in my car. I run the a/c and drive back to the office with the windows down but by 5pm when I get back into the car there is a pretty strong smell from the unit. It quickly disperses but is definitely something to be careful of.

Just got my unit! in purple perfectly matched my purple grinder.

First Impression:

It doesn't look like its made of cheap stuff it really feels like an iPod 5th gen and its has a similar weight to my iPhone. simple packaging without stupid stuff in it :clap:It came with brush/stir stick/manual/ and unit. the silicone mouth piece does feel oily and smells like plastic.

Shipping was absolutely fast 4 days total of wait time, I suggest you use DHL because damn its my first time using it but its wickedly faster than Canada Post / UPS / Purolator.

Its probably the best entry level vaporizer out there....

I got it for 83$ CAD (I didn't have to pay import duties :rockon:Probably because I requested Flower to declare it less than 10$ or marked it as a gift)

All my USB chargers put out 2 amps which could produce enough power to charge the batteries in a reasonable amount of time.

The wall charger that comes with the VM is 9V at 1 amp (9 watts). My USB charges are 5V at 2A (10 watts).

You have an out of spec charger. It's not supposed to exceed 1.5A but many wall chargers do, like yours. The problem for a manufacturer is that many people will try to charge with one of their computer ports, which is limited to .5A and therefor will take forever. Rather than deal with customer confusion and complaints about charging times, it is simpler to use a wall wart and a miniplug. This also avoids USB licensing fees.

I've gone through 7 sessions so far. I haven't reached the 10 minute timeout, it seems to get dark brown fairly quickly. It has a good weight and doesn't feel cheap. Taste is okay, nothing exceptional I use the Underdog simple glass stems over the metal mouthpiece, I don't find taste to be improved too much. The firewood glass mouthpiece with mflb tubing slipped over also works if you want a smaller glass stem.

100% better than smoking a joint, smoked cheap schwag and the taste was way better than when it was in the joint.... now I can actually taste the cannibis. Going to try it tonight on bubba kush see if it taste different... Does a strain affect the taste?

The smell was not noticable unlike when i tried to smoke joint in my room for the first time, it reeked like a skunk took 2 days to get rid of the smell. The caramel infused that I bought had a stronger smell than vaping  well that caramel only takes pea size amount to get me high, 10 bites on 1 candy and it was only 10$.... maybe edibles are cheaper?

And I didn't coughed to death! I only probably a coughs a few times vaping, that is if I hold it in for too long.

Oh and I read somewhere you can use vaporized cannabis for edibles?

These go for around 80 shipped on Ebay actually....comparing it to a Solo is a bit silly, sure the solo is a portable but it is nowhere pocket sized or discreet like the flowermate.

Comparing it to the grasshopper(Which I am an early backer) is also silly seeing as its not out and will probably stick around 150 when all is said and done.

Better off deciding on something like the firewood, iolite, Davinci, etc...in the 100 price range for portables that can fit in a pocket and don't look odd in public.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
DHL has just taken over my top spot as most incompetent delivery system knocking off perennial champion USPS.
They sent my Flowermate from Hong Kong to Cincinnati (I live in the SF Bay area) and then sent it to SF and put it on the truck for delivery yesterday but seems to have disappeared. I called them and they weren't sure where it was (delivery truck or package, I didn't think to ask) but that it would most likely be delivered on Monday.
As to why it went to Cincinnati first I was told all goes through Cincinnati first. And then gets flown back to the West coast? With fuel prices what sense does that make? No wonder they are so freaking expensive. You'd think a German company would be a lot more efficient.
And, no surprise, they offered no apologies for the screw ups.
Would have been nice to have it to play with this weekend, but its not like I'm lacking for vapes to carry me over. ;)

I do enjoy using this vaporizer I am happy that I waited to purchase an automatic handheld, I just couldn't justify the purchase with the prices of the current ones on the market (2010-2013). I wouldn't recommend someone to spend more than 90 dollars including shipping. Its a sub-100 vape and shouldn't be sold as better, there's no reason for the consumer to spend more. While I and I am sure many other users will prefer this over the Firewood I don't consider this to be the better vaporizer. The Firewood would easily become everyone's favorite if it was automatic. I enjoy the fact that it isn't but holding a button versus not holding a button makes a huge difference.

Here's a closer picture of the Firewood glass mouthpiece I use.

It's funny, it really depends on the workers, around my are UPS is literally the best, I hate the Fedex guy, never dealt with DHL, and the USPS IS TERRIBLE.

A bubbler would be nice but not portable enough for me since I never vape indoors.
A longer stem would be nice to cool down the vapor. I was thinking of just sticking a long hose into the mouth piece.

Whats the dimension of the mflb whip tube and does a firewood capsule fit in the chamber? Also what is the silicone tubing needed to replace the heating chamber?

Looper,

@Looper I don't have any glass capsules, but I doubt they will fit, thin silicone doesn't and that is what I use for my FW capsules. There would be no benefit of the glass capsules IMO.

Do you mean ID and OD (inner/outer diameter)? Or the amount of tubing I used?

The tubing I use is only to screw the mouthpiece onto the FM.

How are people cleaning the screen at the bottom of the heat chamber bowl? Can it be removed to soak in some alcohol?

I just blow in there after each dump out and occasionally put the brush in and twist it around a little.

I put some drops of ISO on a Q-tip and with the unit upside-down (to avoid anything dripping into the innards of the vape) I swab it out...about once a week or so. Then just leave it open and upside down until the ISO smell is gone. You can use the other end of the Q-tip to help clean/dry it out too.
