Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Almost there...
I have been thinking of how to get less metal in the EVO, a more "pure" flow of air.
Digging through the forums i think i have found something that may be of use!

In the Versa thread they have an 18.8mm Standard flower adapter.
Would this work on the EVO?

It seems to just have a small metal screen in there so a lot less metal then an ELB.
I am not sure what size the male joint on the Versa unit is. hopefully also 18.8mm.

Thinking it would only work for upright use though, unless you can place another screen on top of the material.

Anyone with a Versa and an EVO try this out yet?

....there is a technique for using more flower in a elb....it's imperative that the flowers be ground finely...of course no "real tight pack"...using this I'm able to get anywhere from 15-20 hits per elb...starting at 10 ..terminating at 2:30-3:00.works great..

I don't think so, because the evo needs the load to be inside the bamboo. The more powerful versa has the ability to heat the material with convection through a separate bowl that is outside, not inside of it.

But it would be an interesting experiment.
I know the herb in the Versa bowl sits outside but i think the EVO may have the power to vaporize it.

I had the same exact thought as you and have tried this, albeit not with a versa flower bowl. I used an 18-14mm reducer adapter that has a flare, similar to the versa bowl, and fitted a screen in it. I used it with the EVO inverted, and if I recall correctly at 3 on the dial. I indeed got good vapor output, but the assembly required stirring, and I frequently would accidentally flip the screen and dump the load into my water tool. It may be worth experimenting further, but I gave up and went back to ELBs.

My new Hydrafoot came today. It appears to be built slightly different from the first batch. Very sturdy.

This kinda tears it for me. I am done buying soon after something comes out.
Shit keeps changing for the better and I feel left behind. I don't have the cash to keep replacing when a nicer version comes out and that HF looks a LOT nicer than my original, purchased the day it was released.

Is there any way to predict this kind of improvement only a few months later?

Not trying to bitch, but how do I decide when to pull a trigger on a purchase?

We're here to fuck shit up.
Is anyone actually tasting metal? I will admit that my palate is not so refined as to notice any flavors other than the herb. Is there a metal taste from the ELB that is ruining the experience for others?

I only experimented with the Versa style bowl due to some of those users reporting "bigger" clouds than possible with the EVO. I've never had any metal taste from the ELBs, I believe VXL has already nailed the best herb holding system, but if they should figure out an all glass system that's as good or better, I wouldn't mind. :2c:

I used to this with my EQ before I got my EVO. Its actually in my ID pick. I put an 18 male to male in my mobius and used the flower bowl with a screen in the to part.

Worked great until the day the EVO arrived and I never bothered with the setup again. I did the same with the versa after I got it but the EVO won on the flower side of things.

The Versa is great for concentrates with a similar set up as described above. My VXN has replaced the versa and now I use the EVO exclusively (been thinking about getting another:rofl:)

I have tried the EVO the way you describe many times and it does work well, nice clouds good flavor, but not as well as the ELB with no discernible difference in flavor. I love my EVO because its better than my "jerry rigged" EQ setup. Even cooking without stirring, efficiency, flavor, ease of use, less messy. It wins in every category. Not to mention hot glass bowls that get stuck to other joints.

But if you had a glass screen to use in place of the metal it would be worth a try;). Maybe like those small friitted glass discs that come with David Goldstein pieces.

Not true. The EVO has plenty of strength!

That is a swagger HF and if you bought one right away you most likely got an evolver HF. Different companies, different quality.

Vapes on vapes on vapes!
Well after mourning the death of my two VapeXNails I have moved on. I bought five more today and this time I will be much more careful about how I clean them. I cleaned them almost after every use. I would let them self-clean, but there was still residue up top so I would soak them in ISO. After a bit of an ISO soak I would use a metal skillet tool to scrape off the remaining residue in hot water. This always worked great, but I think I cleaned it too much. I believe I fractured my first one a bit while cleaning it which is why it broke so easily. The second one I dropped about a foot on to some ceramic so that was on me. Hopefully with five I will be patient enough to not have to scrape them to clean them all the way. I love these things!

Edit: Just 2-capped some reclaim and it worked well, but it would have probably been better with some VXNs. :ko:

I feel your pain. I too bought the HF 2.0 the day it came out and have lived to regret the decision. It looks like the new one is superior in every way for just a little more $

PlanetVape will have VapeXNails... this will def help lower costs. Sorry @lazylathe but that's why we partnered with PV, to cut down on shipping costs for you guys.

PV is a good partner for shipping, but their in-stock/out of stock on popular items is tricky.

I just bought a Hydrafoot 2.0 and I got the evolver on Friday, not the Swagger one.

Scraping hard residue off glass with a metal tool would definitely increase the likelihood of a stress fracture. You're right that there is still residue after self-cleaning - the gunk just rises. Personally though, I just use heat for cleaning the VXN and I still get great flavor. Of course, the black buildup isn't pretty.

That's what i am talking about!!!
I was wondering about the EQ bowl but was not sure what size the darkened portion is, looks like 18.8mm!

Now imagine that bowl with either a perforated glass disc or even a frit that you can place the material on.
ALL GLASS airpath!
I am sure one of the expert glass blowers on the forum could bang something together!

Going to ask a glass blower i know on another forum if he can do something like this.

Sorry if this has been gone over but I don't currently have time to dig through this thread. I've mainly been using my evo for concentrates. I only put the smallest of dabs in, really much smaller than if it were on a nail. Yet my evo drops oil out the bottom pretty frequently. Does anyone else have this problem? Should I be worried. It is an all glass pathway which makes me think it's fine. I just wanna check up on that, my tables are paying the price. haha

Unfortunately, I will be on my second bamboo. First one was my bad, had some moisture get into the bamboo after taking a hit.

During this last break, I was using an Elb with kief, showercap hydro tube, and a heat soaked EVO set at 1pm. I ended up getting combustion and the bamboo broke.

Does anyone know if this will be covered by the warranty? I havent put in a ticket yet, and have gone back to combusting....

My wallet does feel a little pain..

I love the product, recently got the swagger hydrotube 2.0.. Great
Two VapeXnails - havent used them yet except for a little hash
Santa Cruz shredder - amazing.. totally worth the price.

The particular one on sale isn't a replacement for the previous model, it is a new, limited edition Hydrafoot that Swagger put together. In a few weeks they will put out their production model which will be smaller and closer to the original HF2.0

With that said, new designs in the glass game come out quite quickly and we aren't going to make a habit of redesigning products but if we can make something better for around the same price, we don't want customers to feel like we purposely duped them. We just want to continue to push out better stuff when we can.

So the evolver hf is gone, and will be replaced by a swagger-made "production model" hf?

The limited edition SWAGGER HF2.0 looks like the top male joint sticks up too high for a hydratube to sit flush as compared to the Evolver HF2.0 or is that my imagination?

You are correct, it stands a little higher.

@grokit - yes, Swagger will be making a smaller model in the future.

Thanks for the reply. Most manufacturers would just ignore these sort of complaints. I don't feel duped...Truth be told I just think that swagger piece looks awesome and I am slightly jelly.

I still like the function of my HF 2.0 and honestly might prefer the less diffused action (mine only has 15 slits) of the evolver version... But that swagger piece really just looks to be built to a higher standard!

I think the bent neck swaggers with the narrow mouthpiece provide thicker hits than a more wide open mouthpiece. I think it allows the vapor to collect for a thicker hit. Anyone agree or disagree?

With a moderated pull...I agree. It collects before the bend a bit. Also just may be an illusion, but one for the better.
