Did you ever use the plug and vape feature? I am trying to figure out if using that feature makes the unit start acting up.

No mate never used that feature.

i opened up the solo as much as i could without damaging the core chamber, forced some high pressure air between the inner chamber stainless steel bowl and the heating element (i think). Put the whole thing back and tried it out.

Result - So far so good, although its still acting up a bit, but do get at least 7-8 min session before auto shut off. LED lights behaving for now

Hi all,

So I just got my Solo (M1B1 Serial), and have noticed I have the broken bottom plastic shroud at the corner of the bottom of the unit that some have complained about. Can I get a replacement one of these somewhere?

I will use cognac!
You need to use alcohol with no additives. Something like Everclear or clean vodka or such.

No replacements, only fixes. See signature for screwplate fix.

So it takes a while to heat up, but this is a really nice vape! Hitting some super trich drenched buds at level 6 and getting all manner of clouds. Can't wait for my Ed's Shorty Stem to get here :D

Right now I am hitting the Nano for kief, the Solo for flowers, the Persei/my quartz castle nail for oils. Loving having all these options! Great taste on the direct draw stem, but has anyone ever tried putting an e-nano screen in the stem above the glass screen to stop bits of herb getting through?

The Q man strikes again!

No hope on replacement parts from the maker I bet, it's the skeleton for the machine, 'everything' hooks up to it. It's the frame if you will.

The Solo, however, will soldier on. It's largely cosmetic and should really only interfere if you let it. Not to worry, time to enjoy?

I would like to point out that the Arizer Solo oil bowl, which is basically useless with the solo, happens to work as a carb cap very well:worms::spliff:
IM talking about this bowl
images

EDit I have seen HE carbcaps that look like they get seasoned from use, the cap is cooler than the nail. and so the oil condences

You guys have probably mentioned this before but I just wanted to share this guys post if you haven't heard of it yet because this guy is a genius ^^ I thought that oil bowl was useless.. but it works so well as a carbcap!!

No, I hadn't heard of it, not my thing? I'm sure I'm not alone. I think it makes more sense from the other end, it doesn't give me the urge to race out and experiment with 'nail stuff'.......but were I there already I guess I see the connections.

I disagree with the 'oil bowl is useless' idea (although it's a common question) it has the unique advantage of fitting the top of the Solo. Our very own 'genius', Dr. S, has conspired with his local glassblower to make a GonG fitting from his, something many would find quite useful?

Fellow Solo Owners, I've got a suggestion for you for 'travel protection' for bent glass stems.

I assume most folks know (and most use?) the travel tubes from PV for the straight stems, but for those of us keen on the bent ones (the only real way to "do the hamster" with any dignity......) this leaves a gap. At least it did for me until a few minutes ago.

A search has led me to the very convenient hard glasses case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005GKF7MA/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's slightly longer than the Solo and about as wide and 'just thick enough' for a bent stem with either the straight one or my favorite option, a 'doob tube' of processed bud ready to go. Not smell proof, of course, but could be so with a pair of vinyl caps. Nicely padded inside, the stem doesn't really rattle enough to add padding like I'd planned. Very tough, I bet you could step on it, the case is covered steel.

Just the ticket to round out my 'road trip bag' (Solo, stem, car and wall chargers and stash), an old padded camera case. Also IMO great protection for that special, hard to get, PVHES. I'm about to order at least one more for that reason. I got black to match my Solo, someone should tell them to offer one in silver......

Just a fuse inside. The old version of Solo charges from 10.1 to 15 Volts. The new one to even lower voltages it seems. But my initial testing says you want just under 9 Volts (or more) if you want a full charge. 8.75 won't cut it.

Answer your question?

Well, yes it does ! Thanks. SO I can safely charge from 9-15v ! ( I have 2014 model)Thanks so much !!!!!!

Regarding car chargers.
Not on my order form pleasently, but will add shortly for 10 bucks.
Mine has the more standard 5.5mm plug and needs the supplied adapter. It is a hefty unit compared to most with a 10 amp rating.

The eye glass cases are IMO, great for protecting stems and other smaller items ad well. Being using for a while and just pick up at the dollar store.

Oh, I don't know.....seems it me if it 'almost survived the Ataxian glass test' it's probably plenty tough for the rest of us?

I mean if we hold out for 'even Ataxian can't break it once it's safely inside' it's likely to be a long wait with a lot of broken stems........

OF, I haven't dropped a stem since I started using the 113 seal.

One of my CHILLUM'S broke this morning $7.00 loss!
Dropped one of my ASH COLLECTOR'S.
Cracked at the joint.
Thank goodness I have other gear to mess with!

Enjoy the nice climate!

I bought the Solo off of a buddy, and everything was great (I used it for about 2 weeks), fast forward a little, now the Solo will not turn on no matter what.

I have no idea what is wrong w/ it when I would turn it on, it would just beep then auto shut down on its own. Also when it was charging it was constantly beeping (I tested this with and without the battery attached and same thing happened) I am not sure what this could mean.

I mainly use the Solo on setting 4/5

Here is also a small video that I took -

Quick question! How does the capacity of one of Ed's wooden stems (looking at the Bloodwood specifically) compare to the capacity of a stock stem? Come to that, what are the capacities of the stock stems?

You would probably get more eyeballs by posting to the portable devices/solo forum, but FWIW: Removing the battery effectively resets the device so a reset won't make any difference. If you have a voltmeter, measure the wall wart output voltage - those little switching power supplies sometimes fail and if the voltage is low, the device won't charge or heat. Otherwise, my guess is that you need to register a warranty repair with arizer - they provide excellent support for a year - try their web site and register using the device serial number.
