Discontinued The Herbalizer

Are you sure the metal ring on the bottom of the bowl did not come out? When this happens the metal ring stays stuck to the base, which may not be completely obvious if you have not used Herbie before now. This has already happened to two of my bowls (epoxy did not hold) but they say the issue is resolved. Fix is easy if this is the case, you would just need a new bowl bottom.

The same thing just happened to me. The metal ring came off, which sent me into a mild panic. I've only had the Herbie for several weeks, so I'm pretty bummed this happened.

I too treat and care for the Herbie pretty well, including almost daily ISO and Green Clean sessions. I will inform the company and hopefully be sent a new bowl without having to send in the entire unit.

Would I be foolish to even attempt to glue the ring back onto the bowl? Full disclosure: I'm not the most mechanically inclined guy... which is why I almost fainted when a fresh bowl didn't experience that "locked into the magnetic tractor-beam feeling" last night.

@grokit a glass or full ceramic bowl with grooves for the rubber rings would be awesome. Maybe somebody with access to glassblowers should draw up a bowl design where it would allow visibility using the whip. I think I saw somebody posted a mod with a spherical glass adapter and he used it to see the vapor before it enters the whip. Something like that would be neat.

Herbie still the big boy for me for his superpowers. One day i put volcano and Herbalaire2.2 together out to blow few bags to compare. Herbie is definitively less hassle even if it is more airflow sensitve than volcano which act like a normative tank in this category. But try to have 2 ballons of solid valve?

As i am a moderate person i vape at full blast all time and have 2 bags in rotation to squeeze the loads in one pass. tremendous both by effect, quickyness, efficiency.

After fighting with airflow killing of bags by too many fine particles, i use a mini-ELB to pack my fine particles loads or all the others things you can pack in it, the brick which is shat is really spent.

To blow bags and for ease of use, the bag is 2 cm up from the regular position with a modest tiny tube caked. No more globe whip bag blowing.

I think this may have been mentioned before, but has anyone else had an issue with the bowl wiggling a bit while in place? I think it's because the magnet on the unit itself became dislodged a bit and wasn't perfectly centered around the heater cover. I was able to move it a little and the bowl fit more securely after that. Still not perfect, but I'm not sure it ever was? This isn't a huge deal, but I'm wondering if I can expect it to become a nagging issue.

I'm with you on the whips...I still don't like the taste. I am, however, developing a fondness for the bags for the first time ever. The extra time the vapor gets to cool makes for some of the least irritating hits I can get.

fwiw, I don't care what they come up with to mate it with glass, it won't work any better than my $15ish solution. And each vape is designed for its specific purpose. Try blowing bags with the EVO. It's our prerogative to mod things slightly to our idiosyncrasies. Besides, it ain't like there's a lot of vapes out there doing what you want. I can only think of two right now.
I guess after how amazing the cloud has been you would think they would want to go after something similar. Plastic will always=cheap and bad taste because it is true. I really don't get where they think this thing is worth $800. So this is a new volcano that mated with a vapor bros?
I don't mean to sound cynical. Just more confused.

Almost there...
I feel like my Herbie has been upgraded to a more powerful unit!
And all it took is a simple change of the supplied whip!
I used a length of tubing from Andy the maker of the E-Nano, not sure of the size.

WOW!!!!
Herbie now rips like a champ!! Even on the first draw!
I am getting huge clouds now as well as amazing flavour.

Herbie seems to have a super charger in her now!!

Coupling with 3 whips is back!!!!!

When turning the Herbalizer temperature down, a blue scale follows the cursor.
What is this? Something to do with cool down or the halogen light not needing to light up?

@Been Vapin, I've seen this and completely guessing here, based on the heat-up red bar indicator, but believe this is accounting for the time it takes for the oven (or at least the sensor) to reach the newly-set lower temperature.

If that didn't make sense, I'll go have a session and then retype.... :ko:

exactly, basically the opposite of when you turn your Herbie on and heat it up, just telling you when it has reached the lowered temperature. Running the fan while turning down the temp will help speed up the process

Ahhhh DDave beat me to it

That is your progress bar. It is showing you where the temp is and how far it has to go before it reaches the set temp. When the device is cooling the progress bar is blue, when the device is heating up the progress bar is red. You can make it cool down faster by running the fan. You don't notice the red progress bar as much because it heats up so darn fast.

I have, am I suppose to be surprised with something that may have awesome guts but puts out a crappy product? I guess I care more about the quality of the vapor than how that vapor is produced. Just because you can dial it in to different temps, doesn't mean its groundbreaking. The year is 2014, why step back 5 or more years?

It's groundbreaking because (IMO) It reaches precise temps faster then anything on the market right now. Flavor can be adjusted by what you use from the bowl to your draw. If you want glass, use glass, if you want a balloon, use a balloon. I'm sure they will eventually come up with some add ons but for now I consider Herbie a platform (base). What you hook it up to is personal preference.:D Just as flavor is.:2c:

Agree. It's the new standard. Sure it's expensive, but it just came out and has no competition in terms of speed and versatility.

Also, the Cloud and Volcano look strange and if you've got family members around and you're using medical cannabis you might want something that's more of a medical device than a cool looking piece of tech that draws attention to itself.

That's quite an assumption that it produces a crappy product. I think it produces fantastic vapor, and I prefer that vapor pushed through glass than a hose. I don't think this is the vape for you. I get the feeling you are a recreational user like myself, not a medical user. If I'm right, then you are good to go with the EVO...that's my favorite vape. But this would be my first choice for a medical user all day long. I can confidently say I am not getting rid of mine!

I've had my unit for a day now... a much more detailed review is pending... for now...

The temperature management is amazing! From zero to 445F before I even have my sh-t together!

Asthetics... The unit itself is amazing! By any means, get one in your hands so you can give it a good look over.

Bingo on the Medical Use!

I am a medical user, using MMJ to keep the dizziness (and nausea) at bay. Till now, I've been unable to medicate during working hours, as my other vapes were hit/miss in regards to dosing. Even after a year of use on some, control was not fine enough to ensure I wasn't over/under medicated. If overmedicated, had to play the waiting game. Under medicated, never sure how much more of a session would have me over at the other extreme.

Even with just a day under my belt, I've been able to reach the happy medium three times.... not over or under what I needed. (Note, this was all done using the same strain of mmj. Am sure other strains will require finding their own respective sweet spots. However, Herbie removes many of the variables from the equation...making effective/accurate dosing a reality).

This is not a variation on Vaping, it's finally an evolution in the right direction!
