Herb Grinders

I have a mini and don't find the holes to be an issue how many strains have you tried in it and how dry is your herb?

What vape are you using, I couldn't imagine needing it finer but I prefer making it finer as I make it abv.

The problem was that I physically couldn't get it fine or fluffy enough because so many huge pieces of herb and full buds would just fall right through.. Unless I turned the top portion upside down and put it through multiple grinds, which was quite annoying. I upgraded to the small however, and am in love with it haha. IMO it's leagues ahead of the mini.

Here's the bad boy. Just couldn't resist grabbing it in red. So purty.

I ended up buying the large scs from blaze1 with the 20%off(blaze20). Havent bought a grinder since getting one of those sharpstones with the mill handle. I was dissapointed because the handle is poorly made(it was authentic) and breaks and turns freely while not spinning the teeth, so don't buy that one!

Hey Guys. I found another grinder while browsing on amazon. It is called the Golden Gate Grinder.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200382&pf_rd_i=507846
Looks like a Sharpstone rip-off with some modifications. Seems like the holes are smaller and that it is 2.5".
I wonder about the line... the spot where the silver (unfinished metal) meets the black,
it is not anodized looking as it would be the same color inside and out.
It is not coated.. as in titanium.. or it would also be coated throughout.
Do you imagine that could be paint?
I responded to Loopers post... after he said this unit looked like a "rip-off" of another vaporizer,
I responded with an honest question ("do you imagine that this could be paint?")
Apparently this question seemed a good deal more offensive than I imagined it would.
I received an email over this post!
I believed the email to be directly from the seller of the Golden Gate Grinder.. or if not from one of his friends that did not like my honest question.
The email said:
Hey,
I just saw your comment post about Golden Gate Grinders
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/herb-grinders.15/page-177#post-589299
Sort of not cool since it seems like you have never had one. I live in SF and have the grinder. The grinder is totally anodized and not 'painted'.
In fact they are currently the top rated grinders on Amazon!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/top-rated/kitchen/289781
I'm not saying these are space case grinders, but it's the best grinder hands down for the price and functionality, Very well made.
I know it's just a comment, but unfortunately an uninformed comment that hurts those guys business .. and they are totally great guys I had some questions and they are on top of it!
Cheers,
XXX (name witheld to protect this guys identity)

I responded to the email in this manner:
There were many comments.
The fact is the member that introduced the grinder said:
"Looks like a Sharpstone rip-off with some modifications. Seems like the holes are smaller and that it is 2.5"."
I was being kind in my comment.
All I did was ASK if anyone imagined that could be paint.
"I wonder about the line... the spot where the silver (unfinished metal) meets the black,

It is my habit only to review items that I like....
If I have nothing good to say, I say nothing.
Your reaction seems to be more than normal about my honest question.
It makes me think that you have something to do with this seller more than just simply being "put off" by my honest question.

Modern day social advertising at work. You should have invited the person on over to engage in the conversation.

BTW I'm on a lot of forums. Have been for over a decade. Car forums, MJ forums, PC forums, Android forums... you know, places where people have VERY strong opinions as to whose products are best and what they think about the competition.

That said, I've NEVER had a random person send me a personal email based off of a comment I've made. My point?

Dude is trying too hard to hype his product IMO.

Goddamn got enough grinders there?

Well they are not all for me lol.. I's the first time i see the 4 piece grinder model. And superb quality and color..
I like the green color alot, if anyone is not sure about colors keep in mind they look much nicer in real life compared to pics on the site..
Also the storage containers looked alot bigger on the website, which is not a minor point IMO, perfect size if you ask me :)

I actually ordered this in gun metal a bit ago. Shipping says today, hopefully that's true. Then I can post some thoughts ^_^

good choice in color, I'm loving my gunmetal SCS. Really pleased with my purchase

dropped my SCS top from about 5 feet onto concrete last night and fucked up the beautiful fit and finish.

it warped slightly but still screws back together, anodized finish got scraped off, but the grinder part is still spinning well... it will continue to function, just with blemish and it does not spin together/apart near as smoothly.:(

lol, the power of forum posts and laziness.

went through a couple posts and seems like the sharpstone i have is a fake. always thought it was just "okay".

anyways, looks like i'll be grabbing a SCS grinder, they look pretty.

think i'm going to go with a 3 piece. not a fan of kief catchers. the curved bottom is really sweet.

hopefully they come out with a pink one soon :)

Can someone give me like the top 2 or 3 grinders in the world? Looking to get one that will last an absolute lifetime, looks nice and performs like a champ. Price is no object.

It's been said a million times on here, buy an SCS and call it a day - expensive but worth it.
Will do. If its the be all and end all of grinders then It's a must have. It's the type of thing that you just want to get one of them and have it for a lifetime, because it is afterall just a solid mechanical device that has no real reason to stop functioning unless you mistreat it.
I look forward to getting it!

edit: whats the dif between the 3 piece and the 4 piece (apart from being triple the price)

I really like the new Santa Cruz Shredder 3-piece grinder, no screen and the cup has sloped sides to help with loading

Mind posting the measurements of that 3-piece when you get a chance? I'm wondering if it's the same as the 4-piece or a little smaller

Edit: After looking at your post again I'm not sure if you own one or just like the design. Sorry for the question if it's the latter!

Same. Im just waiting on 3rd party vendors to get them since SCS isn't the cheapest to buy from directly most times.

Me too. Please post when you find one with the 3 piece. SCS site shows only a small 3 piece.
I was looking for medium. Wish SCS posted diameter spec on each size...

Hey guys. I just got the 3 piece in and I haven't used it yet but here's the measurement:

2" diameter

I was surprised at how small it was when it arrived. Will have to see how I like it in use, I do enjoy that it's much lighter than my large SCS.
