I am sorta curious also, did you get the sample for free really? Neat, Mr. Gweilo 420 said they wanted 35 for it, which I would pass on to cause this ones seems iffy, but free is free and that I would go for haha!

i've paid only 25$ for shipping. a very friendly girl offered everything for free, but she had to drop me, since i've contacted another salesman from the company first. didn't know they have such rules. however, this saleswoman was much nicer than the guy who handles my case, now (he wanted me to pay 50$ + shipping, at first).

so the dark knight did arrive yesterday. Haven't had time to test it yet, since a friend came to visit me.
However, I can tell you about my first impressions, already.
Compared to the Titan-1 I was actually surprised by the products quality. Nice metal housing, doesn't feel too cheap, but the edges are a bit sharp.
The only thing that has really worried me right away was the silicone/rubber mouthpiece, which is directly above the herb chamber and has that typical china rubber smell. So I put it out first and soaked it in water over night.
In the evening I had time to charge it. Took 1,5h.
Now, I was ready for the first tests (without any herbs inside, since the mouthpiece was still soaking and I always do a smell test first. Smelled a little soapy at first!).
Maybe, I was too baked or something, but at first i didn't manage to get the automatic heating started (manual heating is pretty much like an ecig, push and hold the button and it heats uncontrollable)... I already started to think it's broken at this point. However, after pushing the button a couple of times, it suddenly started heating. (Don't know what I've did wrong before, but I think it's definitely not as easy to use than other comparable units.)
While heating a blue light flashs every second, after around 30 seconds (heating is quite fast) the led will glow constantly.
This means you can start to inhale. However, the blue light will shut off after 2 minutes already! If you push the button again, it will heat again. Repeated this process a couple of times, until the dark knight got so hot, that it was uncomfortable to hold it any longer and I was worried that it might overheat... maybe that's because there are just two very small air slits?!
That's all I did yesterday. Went to bed afterwards.
At this point I'm far from beeing impressed, but for a final rating, I have to run many more tests (since I don't even have understood how to use it properly, yet)

so, I've tested it yesterday and have to confess, that the stock holder guy was absolutely right! That's exactly how it performs.
Was kind of impressed, since it got me pretty baked and i have not expected much, at first.
No negative smell and taste (after soaking the moutpiece in water), flavor was good. I did 3 cycles until the unit shuts off, in the end of the third cycle it was very close to combustion (very thick clouds), but still even brown abv. You get the popcorn taste pretty quick, though.
Airflow was a bit restricted, since i packed the bowl very tight (it's smaller than it looks), I think.
Overheating is also not an issue, if you're only doing three heating cycles. Unit stays quite cool.
Biggest issue i have is that the flavor disappears too fast, but i guess that's a first world problem.
If you're on a budget, this might not be the worst solution, though.

a guy called parker, "stephanie" has offered it for free. So I only got the good deal, because of her. I really don't regret spending the 25$ on it (wouldn't mind the additional 3.55)... 180$ and I would have been pissed

also they've mentioned a company that belongs to the same vapor group that offers the vapor box, so that's why I'm sure the Vapor Box is just a re-branded Dark Knight

this thing has definitely a learning curve and it's a bit hard to handle, however it can get the job done with the right technique. Anyway, your herbs are very fast done. i think i get at least 1/3 less vapor than with other units and after about 5min there is nothing left.
btw. also the dark knight 2 is already in the making
i think 2014 will be the year of chinese vaporizers. the dark knight, titan-1/2, flowermate and xmax were only the beginning. They will flood the market and milk the cow :/

well look what just showed up at my door out of the DARK. checked shipping this morning and still hadnt updated so wasnt expecting this thing anytime soon. HOT DAMN am i surprised out of the box. this is a nice ass box for shit, flips open and what not. but wow this piece isnt light and airy chinese plastic shit i was expecting. its made out of material that is similar to the solo. however the edges on the thing are machined with precision and are quite sharp actually. none the less its a nice little package, i turned her on and did smell that funky rubber fart smell. no visible vapor or smoke while i had it heating. I just put her on to charge and will comeback for a more when I can. in the meantime heres some crazy pics and a nice sample of the how to booklet and its humor.

this is a pass for me
1.chamber is too small for herb
2.no temp control ?? lol what? turn unit off or it hit max temp at 480f
3.even in demo abv came out black
4.wax usage sorry again but way better ways and items to use for wax.
5.you all need to add a temp control other wise it's nothing more than ecig even those i can control voltage watts and oms
