The Stealth (which I have) is definitely all black. According to this page: http://www.davincivaporizer.com/ascent-vaporizer-by-davinci-carbon-fiber-bundle/, "... the carbon fiber print compliments the gun metal grey brushed aluminum sides ..." No green mentioned. Hope that helps.
I use the four holed stem as well as Ed's stem with the organic cotton "screen"Thank you.

To be clear, you use the four holed stem and the organic cotton "screen" together? Wonder why I have such a hard time drawing through just the four holed stem (except for one with bigger holes) yet you don't, even with an additional filter.
Anyhow, thanks again.The carbon fiber sides are a very dark gray. I think the CF looks high tech.
POSITIVE DAVINCI ISSUE to report. They are priority shipping me a replacement unit WITH a return label for the old unit (I did not have to ask for it. I have now had several positive interactions with customer service at DaVinci and I am feeling a bit better about customer service. I forgot to ask about the website review issues. I recommend buying at 7/10 with the only issue being reliability.
No problem replying, my bad. I use the 4 holed stem with the cotton. My glass stem has no draw issues. The cotton causes minimal increased flow restrictions.Thank you.

I'm glad, for your sake. 3 of the 4 in my possession do have that issue. The guy on the phone at DaVinci said free air flow would dilute the vapor but simple logic tells me that without air, vapor can't get in lungs. His statement made me doubt their customer service folks' genuine concern...

The stealth looks like the trim is a glossy dark purple color. The carbon fiber looks really sharp too. I thought if I bought another Ascent that might be one I would want. I'll bet they will be coming out with more choices. The Ascent will be a year old this August, they may decide to add a new style to the line, I hope.

Just pulled the trigger, finally settled on Stealth. Should be delivered tomorrow before 1pm 
also got the RYOT case and the 14mm straight water tool. I also have some organic cotton on order that I will put on top of the herb in the bowl, if im packing a good load full I wont need the glass flowers just yet? Only if I want smaller loads? Looking forward to this device as I have wanted one since it was first announced. I am really hoping having 3 vapes will finally help me Fuckcombustion once and for all

I'd get the glass flowers to try at least once, but in the meantime try using the glass jar's as a weight to put on top of a very small load (0.025g) - make sure you clean the jar often, I had mine get stuck after 5 sessions! One guy about 100 pages back had a jar get stuck really bad! Took a while for him to get it loose.

I haven't really filled the bowl the entire way many times. But even if you plan to I would still get the flowers. You can get them cheap and they really improve performance. Even if you don't really use them for full bowls it's good to have if you decide to use them. But if it was me even if I was filling it I would still toss a couple in there to help distribute and hold the heat.

I like the flowers as they disperse the heat more effectively and shorten the vaping sessions. By doing smaller loads frequently you get to enjoy the fresh hit taste more. The technique conserves my resources as well.
Big full loads whoop this wimps butt too.

Don't pay any attention to the stealth fables, especially now. I can understand the problems with the first run stealths from last summer. They had mainly stealth units available, not many of the other styles. Even the other units such as the burl wood ascents were being sent back too. DV just wasn't ready with the first run ascents. Also there was a major problem in the beginning with the hinges shorting out the wiring. I still am very careful opening mine, I don't open it all the way.
Folks still are going to get the occasional unit they are going to have send back do to flaws. DV has wonderful cs if you need to send your ascent back. Do not buy from just any vendor because you never know when you will need to send your vaporizer back. Make sure they are an authorized seller.

The only issue that I have with the Ascent, is its slightly exaggerated battery life (fuck it, not a giant issue) and the fact that vaping a smaller amount doesn't seem to work as well in this unit. Are there any pro tips that anyone has to increase the surface area, without having to sacrifice unnecessary tree?

I'd try a very small load under the included concentrate glass jar, vapor performance has been pretty impressive for the little amount of herb used
The glass jars work as Rachett said, due to the extra mass provided with its glass that acts like a heat sink. An efficient way to vape a small amount.
But also the glass flower technique works for me, and perhaps a little better than just the glass jars, depending on how you pack the herb and flowers together. The flowers work the same way as the glass jars, but I figure they allow more hot glass surface area contact than the jar.
The jar is cool because it works well, it is clean, and easy to load and unload on the go. I use both techniques.
I feel the glass flowers cook it faster but it takes longer to load. I get into the packing routine capping it off with cotton for a screen.
Each to his own.
Very true, the glass flowers are a much bigger pain to load, and they work great for packing smaller loads.
But if you want quick and easy micro size loads (0.025g), the glass jars are the way to go - I don't think you could pack as little herb as that with glass flowers alone
Note, I've been using my 3D printed tamping tool to tamp down the herb in my Ascent - the results have been awesome! Paired with my 14mm GONG as an adapter, I get more hits than I can count! (Note I am tamping down pretty hard, the draw restriction is noticeable at first, but quickly opens up after the second or third draw
