Anyone have any thoughts on the Dabbler vs Dr Dabber Ghost pen? Both seem like incredibly qualified products- can't seem to find any cons in regards to the Ghost Pen, was hoping for some help here? Thank you all very much (new/first time poster)

Thank you very much Vitolo- I thought I'd done my research and couldn't find too many bad words about the Ghost - I guess I missed some! I have very much enjoyed your opinions throughout the thread- and definitely appreciate the quick reply- apologies if I beat a dead horse/violated the thread with the question. Looks like Ill be joining the Dabbler nation soon!

Totally appreciated. Just ordered my dabbler based on further studies and am beyond excited to try it!

Any recommendations for add ons would be very much welcomed as well. The glass tube heater and ceramic core 3 in 1 heater seem to call my name...

HI FOLKS! In response to a few common questions we get:

Similar looking pens with super sexy ads- good deal?-- Just don't... seriously, save your money. Countless brands are coming out with beautiful marketing and horrendously cheap workmanship and only a few people outside of FC can tell the difference between Dabbler and (fill in the blank). In most cases the consumer votes with their purchase of a cheaper pen, but we'll keep doing our best to provide the better alternative.

Dabbler is made from many of the same casings & parts as the others, but the things we care about the most are worlds apart- the coil, the circuit, the battery supplier, wick material, etc. Add to that the 3X 100% quality control and fantastic warranty service and you have a trustworthy device that won't belch chemicals into your lungs as you use it.

NEW NEWS: Feeling the overwhelming demand of customers who want an instant hit, we upped the power of the batteries. The voltage tests out only about .5V more, but the current to the coil is increased and it will run hotter faster. These batteries are already shipping to Vaporwarehouse and other outlets. Here's how to tell the difference if you have a Dabbler in hand:

tumblr_n4yuj3bDRm1rzuyr2o1_400.jpg

The new battery is a typical EGO looking one, now with clear plastic around the USB port. This helps the manufacturer to check the build date because he can see into the bottom of the pen without taking it apart.

There were a few more reasons for the boosted battery:

Batteries that were getting "stuck on" were bothering the heck out of our manufacturer so he bulked up the component that was failing. Resulted in more current going through the system.

An herb chamber - yes - is still in the works and we're anticipating we'll need more power to create a true convection hit.

The power hungry ceramic core heaters are being purchased in larger numbers and this battery works much better for them.

Exciting news!
My original Dabbler (and it's old fashioned battery) are still kicking ass and taking names.
If it is better than this, I don't know what I will do with myself!!!
Keep up the great work, guys.

Dabbler tips:
I use a Business card with a glossy finish in my Dabbler area, to leave my
Dome heaters, and my Dabbler heaters, as well as the toothpicks that I
serve the wax up with.
I keep an upside down tiny funnel over the more vulnerable Globe type Heaters.
DSC03222.jpg

Puffitup and Ed's TNT are a couple of examples of great Business cards to use, that can be scraped, and used forever... watch these images, and look carefully at the Ed's card
up close and note how accessible the leftover wax is.
DSC03223.jpg

The entire card can be lifted, if you do not use 2 hands... by grabbing any piece on the card!
DSC03224.jpg

....................see the toothpicks and all frozen in space!..........................
DSC03228_3.jpg

............................leftover wax easy to retrieve...................................

Now why would I do this?
This keeps my heaters clean!
Just overnight allows waxes and sediment to flow downward.
REALLY FILTHY? just leave the card and it's contents as you see mine.. in the sun at the window.

The little globe heaters drip and clear.

DSC03227.jpg

The best part is this sets you up for an instant hit!
After pulling a Dabbler heater off the card it is ready to hit without adding more wax.
DSC03229.jpg

DSC03230.jpg

I have had heaters form a pool across the top that appears dead solid!
While the above wax is obviously darkened from its original golden clear color... notice
deep within that heater.. behind the coil, in the actual basin....
... CLEAN AND WHITE! (dance of joy)
Here is a very brief video of how easily this piece above in my hand came off the card:

:rip: ceramic core heater :( You let me vaporize many a tasty grams  Unfortunate that the carts aren't very rebuildable-friendly, I liked how it looked on my mech more than my DART, and the cone fit easily into the 14mm reducer.

Note: running it on my mech likely killed it, so there's your warning :D

Hi everyone,
I just got a dabbler yesterday and after charging it and testimg it with no wax in it I thought I was ready to go. I loaded it up and twisted it together and the first hit was amazing.. about ten minutes later I went to hit it again, the LED on the pen just blinked three times.
If I take the heater off the battery the button acts as if it would operate fine. I can hold it down and the light stays on and everything. Before I went to bed I found that if I hold the button down, then screw the heater and mouth piece on I could get a hot as long as I held it down before screwing the heater on.
When I woke up this morning even that didnt work. Everytime the heater gets close to the battery it just blinks three times. No heat. Has anyone else had this problem?
Any one have any ideas of ehat could be going on?
thanks

It is possible that you over-tested the heater at first.
Dry hits are hard on a heater.
You did get a hit though.
That hit before it stopped working was amazing I bet.
It is also possible the heater was a faulty one.
If you feel that the latter was the case, then you can contact the seller.
Seller can't help.. contact maker.
I am glad you got at least that sample hit.

ok so after the usps lost/misdelivered my replacement battery, I gave up and decided it wasnt in the cards for me to have a functioning dabbler. I was poking around on the vaporwarehouse site and came across a neat looking stainless steel version of a globe style atty that was ego threaded and also dual coil. I called AJ at VW to inquire about and order this, which I assumed I could just screw onto any ego battery. When i explained about the dabbler battery, he insisted on sending me yet another replacement battery free of charge! I verified that it would work with this new atty, which I then ordered. I hung up the phone with them a very happy customer, impressed yet again with the customer service provided by VW. About an hour or so later, my phone rings and it is AJ. He tells me that after further testing, he would not feel comfortable sending me this new product, as there seem to have been too many non functional units out of the box. They are going to pull it from their site, and he asked if he could send me the ceramic dabbler heater instead. I of course agreed, and now have in my hand the single greatest tasting way to consume concentrates ever, IMO. I had forgotten how good this thing tastes, and it is only improved by the ceramic heater. The best way to describe it is a flavor explosion in your mouth, I have taken to sipping water when using the dabbler as it seems to accentuate the flavor even more. It seems that if you get the temperature exactly right when dabbing with the quartz castle, it tastes almost as good as the dabbler does. I love this thing, and cannot say enough about VW and their incredible customer service!!!

Well guys I am joining the Vapor Brothers Dabbler Club. I ordered mine last night. I have recently begun making my own concentrates and this products seems like a perfect fit for my needs. I am still reading through the thread but a big thank you to you all for providing so much helpful information.

I'm going to be in the club soon as well. I snagged mephisto's offer from the classifieds and I would imagine it is on its way as we speak. I have tried a few pen style delivery systems and not been terribly impressed. Cant wait to try this one out!

Hi all, I received my Dabbler about a month and a half ago. I was lucky enough to get one with the newer battery(at least I think so) because it has the transparent plastic around the charger.

So far I have absolutely loved it, my only complaint has been the heater. I try my best to avoid making any contact ever with the coil so that I don't damage it or dislodge it. Unfortunately it already burned itself out or broke somehow so I'm waiting for a new replacement.

Does anybody have tips or advice on not damaging it? I really can't afford the high price of 25+ replacing it every time it fails especially if I'm doing it every month and a half. I was thinking of putting a screen atop of it like people have been doing for dry leaf but instead just smearing wax on it.

I know it isn't advised, but has anybody found a 510 thread atomizer or cart that they feel works better with the battery instead of the VaporBros heaters? I have heard different things about different products not fitting correctly with the battery.

My first experience was with a Z-Clip by Z-Vape that my dispensary provided to me as a gift for picking up some concentrates and it seems like it is pretty low quality but it still works as my backup, so I don't think it is my usage or habits that caused the heater to fail so quickly so I'm open to all suggestions and advice!

I also have a pretty much brand new Volta for dry leaf, but nothing really seems to compare so far to the awesomeness that is the Dabbler.

An easy way to pack it without worrying about touching the coil is to stand the battery up and with a lighter and a dabber you can melt your dab into the coil without too much heat or trouble, not very good for discreet packing though...

I have tried that with some of my concentrates and it worked great, but some of it is too viscous or gooey so I end up having to try and scrape it off along the side while avoiding the coil to get it off without burning everything off the loading tool. Thank you for the advice I will try to focus melting it more.
