Picking a Bong/Bubbler & Vape Tips

Yo,

This is my first post so sorry for any mistakes. After reading through FC extensively I ended up buying my first vape the 'SSV' as it happened to be the best in my price range. WOW I LOVE IT!!! Never will i go back to combusting lool.

Well my first question is what is the best smallish bong/bubbler (whichever is better)? I'd love anything to enhance my vaping experience even further..

Are more percs better? Im a Bong noob lool, what is their to know or choose from?

Secondly, Any tips for use of the SSV? How can I get the nicest big juicy hits from it?

Any tips will do, I just wanna make it the best possible experience every time I vape (Daily)\

I ordered a bubbler out of that thread for my ssv and couldn't be happier. Look for sunshine store products as they seem to be the seller with the best track record. For vaping you don't really need a lot of diffusion or volume so a lot of those smaller bubs do the trick nicely. You'll probably want a glass on glass water pipe adapter to run your whip through as well.

I agree, go on DHgate.com and look up a store seller "Sunshinestore" - I've bought 3 pieces (the 4th one should land in NY today or tomorrow!). Shipping is always fast, and every piece has exceeded expectations (I'd be willing to pay even 2x as much from an LHS for these pieces and still have no problems!).

Get 2 or 3 pieces for the budget you have, so you can have a backup in case one breaks!

Your budget of $169 could get you a very nice bubbler and a spare bubbler and leave you with ~$70 or so left over to spend on bud or whatever you like Like others have said Sunshine Store is the most reliable seller on Dhgate. You could look at the d020, do20-d, d020-w, d020t or D020-k I think. They are all good. If you have some questions you could go ahead and post them in the Cheap Glass thread and you will get plenty of help as well.

Seriously start with the cheap glass from sunshine store. Once you know what size and volume works best for your preference (bigger is not always better for vapes!), and you know what type of perc action you like (honeycomb, frits, inline percs, showerheads, etc), you can spend big money on a nice piece. But why blow all your money for something that might not even work for you?

I have a side-arm oilrig coming tomorrow from Dhgate (d020-w). Do I know if I like it? Not really! Is it worth $30 to find out if it's as great as everyone says? Absolutely!

There are several people on that cheap bubbler thread who could pieces 100x more expensive. But they choose to purchase the cheap glass first to experiment.

Do you guys recommend these over a Roor or EHLE?

Of course cheap china glass has many problems (thin glass, imperfections, etc). But over on the cheap high quality bubblers thread, we buy and test the glass from different vendors and report back on our findings.

Sure, 90% of the glass you find at your LHS and on these sites is pure crap from china. But there are a few reliable vendors selling quality pieces and are willing to sell single pieces to individuals. Currently there are several vendors mentioned over on that thread, but in my honest opinion only one of those vendors currently is worth buying from. That would be SunshineStore.

Yes people mention a Kathy Hu and a Yingming5, but both vendors have had issues (delayed shipments, shipped wrong items, some glass had defects, quality seems to be hit or miss - better than other vendors, but not up to my standards).

There are many high end glass blowers, but in the end, it is glass, it can break if dropped on a hard enough surface with enough velocity. Do you want to spend your hard earned money on something that can break that easily? Do you even know what type of glass you like the most? What about design and style (Gooseneck, straight tube, beaker, oil rig, etc)?

We cannot tell you what works best for you, only you can. Until you KNOW what type of perc action, and design you want, I still suggest you start by buying some pieces from the Sunshinestore and play around, you might like one more than another.

Once you know exactly what you want, sure go blow $150+ on the perfect glass piece. But until then, save your money and buy some cheap glass! I was doubtful, until I purchased the infamous D020 for $29! I was blown away by the quality for that price

I've purchased around 40 glass pieces from dhg/aliX in the last 6months from multiple vendors, so far not one functionally defective item, I've been the sent the wrong item a couple of times which concluded with me keeping the pieces and receiving a full refund.

Sunshine Store is a quality vendor both on dhg and under their steath account on Alix but there are plenty of others also, I've ordered many non-vape items also & the quality for the price is exceptional.

I always comm the seller before/after placing an order so maybe this keeps me lucky.

China glass is cheaper because it has imperfections in the glass and the build quality is typically inferior to American or German glass (both the raw glass and finished pieces). As long as you know that going in and the price you paid reflects it then there is absolutely nothing wrong with China glass. The problem is a lot of LHS will buy Chinese, claim it is American then mark it up 500% or more. Then you as the consumer gets screwed when it breaks in a month.

I can't say I recommend either China or a Roor, depends on what you want. The one thing I will say is there are A LOT of Roor counterfeits out there and Roor is only "worth" the price because of the quality (which the counterfeits don't have). Be very careful when buying a Roor and don't trust anyone, I have seen fake roors in head shops being sold as brand new legitimate pieces.

Around here I've noticed most of the new little 'smoke shops' now carry fake Roors. All their glass can be found on wholesale sites for much less. I bet Roor wishes they sold this much glass.

Yea I've seen new "roors" with carb holes, soft glass slides, crooked percs, no tech label (any roor with any perc in it besides a normal down stem will have "tech" written inside the backwards R) etc. As soon as I see something like that I walk out. Honestly though I see roor in the same light as storz & bickle. A company that was ahead of their time and revolutionized their industries (roor was the first to widely use scientific joints on glass for smoking) and was content to rest on their laurels while the rest of their industry passed them by. Both still make a very high quality product but you can now get more for your money elsewhere.
