Thank You :)
You want the GG (ground glass) version for this mod.

:peace:

My silver surfer elbow joints and black whip are expected to arrive today. Very excited for these to improve flexibility of where I can sit in relation to the vape, and the added airflow. I've only used the vape a few times now with herbs such as Passionflower and Damiana and the top part of the Arizer elbow joint is getting black from the vape hitting it directly instead of following a clear airpath.. Very disgusting, lol

I want to order another GG wand to attach to an elbow for vapor bonging. I have elbow to elbow but have not tried the wand to elbow. I think that would be :whoa: !

Hey guys. Been a long time viewer of the site, but never registered until today. Anyways, I've had the Arizer whip-style vape for roughly a year now. To my dismay when I changed the screens today, I realized how stupid I've been. I have had the bowl in upside down, rubber nearest to the heating element.... I fear this has done some damage to my lungs. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas regarding this? Anybody make the same mistake?
I did the same thing. I have a mild form of dyslexia and sometimes get things backwards.
It melted the rubber also, but since it is on the outside, I doubt if anything was inhaled. Wouldn't worry about it.
Had to make do with an electrical tape repair.

So it didn't drip into the device and onto the ceramic heater at all? I'd definitely get a torch and check inside the unit to ensure there is no rubber on any of the electrical parts or interfering with the heating unit.
Probably nothing to worry about, but i'd take a very close look if I was in that position just to confirm that it had no ill-effect on the device :)

Yeah, the girlfriend and I decided to just play it safe and pick up a new bowl. Looked for an all glass model which I've seen online but they didn't have any in-store, so we grabbed the same one. For $11 it was worth it haha. I haven't checked inside the actual vape, so I'm not sure if anything's gotten inside :/

We gave you the directions to a better EQ. Do you really want to save 7 dollars now? :shrug:You can use like some duct tape and some McDonalds straws and then you could.....just pulling your chain cause I can. Just order the SSV wand.

My SSV elbow joints and tube are on the way. Should arrive today so I can hook i up to my EQ. I've heard they make some very high quality stuff

gotcha. im gonna be using it with a D020-D. do i *need* to get the SSV elbow to hook up to that or can i just use the EQ elbows? will it make that big of a difference if i still have everything else?
Much better airflow, durability, quality and longevity :)

IMO the portion of the wand used to hold it (the handle, for lack of better term) is thinner and heats up. The SSV wand I have seems to be double layered glass and has never become too hot to handle regardless of length of session or temp of vape.
I have both and I dont notice any difference

Agreed, from a performance perspective, dont think there'll be much difference.

But in regards to usage, doesn't the handle portion of the DBV wand get a bit hot?

I don't have a DBV, so only going by pics online... ;)

No more so than when I use it with the dbv as intended. I do notice a substantial difference in glass thickness and weight between the wands, consistent with the dbv being a bit more of the budget model. The bowls have slightly different dimensions as well, though the outside diameters are both 18mm, which is really all that matters in this mod. Comparing the dbv and ssv wands, the air flow seems about the same--no resistance to speak of. I cap them with an eq bowl, so the proximity of the herb to the heating element is similar. On both the bowls get hot, but the rest of the stem is touchable.

Thanks for the info! Good to know the two wands are similar in performance and usability. Even better about the durability! Ive been overly cautious on "clinking" mine against anything, and luckily haven't to date, but one day... and hopefully that doesnt result in breakage! ;)

I've already broken a dbv stem dropping it, though its still functional. The ssv seems a lot more durable

That's good to head. SSV stem may be my next purchase from their store in a few months. Are their cheaper retailers for SSV accessories or is their official store the best bet? (P.s I'm from Australia and postage from SSV is like $20 >_<)

oh okay, i'll definitely go with the SSV wand. so i load it by puting my herbs (~.15) in the SSV bowl, as i understand it i'd just sprinkle it in like i would with the regular SSV, and then put the elbow screen in to keep it from falling out, and vape away?

I will do so! Thanks.

edit: bad prices and small range of items. I've actually found that ozbongs.com has a decent amount of stuff, but I'll have to do more research until I find a fantastic vaporiser-specific online store for Australia :p

Absolutely. (Or some vacuum it up, then cap with arizer elbow screen.)

Just wanted to mention that SSV wands are very tough. Dropped one onto a removable mouthpiece and it cracked the MP, SSV wand was unscathed.

Great thing about using a wand, you can suck up your materiel. No need to sprinkle.

You can also shorten the length of the wand's bowl by using additional screens.
