@Vape Dr.

Now, according to your first review, you can very tasty vapor at the lower temps. All right.

Then, according to your second review, the taste you're getting from your Indica, is either "great" or "amazing" or "good," even during your fifth session, after, apparently, approximately half an hour of cooking, although I estimate because your fourth session length of time is unclear.

Then I guess the Indica must be unlike any conduction vaporizer I've used or you're using medicine I've never tried, because I can't think of any conductive vape I've ever tried that can preserve that amount of flavor for that amount of time at that level of continuous cooking temperature (acknowledging the breaks), especially when you're starting it at 376.

I am most certainly not trying to "start" anything; I simply find this very unbelievable.

I find it particularly unbelievable that your vapor tasted "good" at 412, after four previous sessions.

Forgive me if I sound dubious, but I simply find it hard to believe the herb can taste "good," "great," or "amazing," after all those sessions.

But I say this as a flavor snob. So perhaps I'm wrong. I think great flavor is found in the 320 - 350 range or below, and once that is taken, the rest is tolerable, until it is not.

So, I respectfully ask you, as someone who is interested in the Indica, do you and I simply disagree on "where" the best flavor is found, and how long it can last?

:)

IMO the best flavor on the indica is on #2 blue at 358F tasty, and vapor.
You would absolutely love #1 if you like lower temps, at 340 you can see wispy vapor.

I stop sessions all the time and reconvene later. I also stated I hit it after the unit is off to draw the heat of of the oven, and squeeze a free hit too.

I vaped as I wrote when I did my review and it is exactly that. My review as I vaped.
I understand and respect your opinion. I did the review I know what I wrote.

When you start at lower temps the taste is amazing but the vapor is scarce which makes no difference to me because I'm not a cloud chaser and appreciate the taste more than vapor production.

Most people prefer higher temps as compared to the PAX. So to be fair I did the second review at the same 3 temperatures as the PAX. I have a couple and they do preserve flavor rather well also.

Obviously If you start on lower temperatures you will not get as many draws at higher temps. That's why I did a review starting on #3 green, so you can see if you sacrifice taste for vapor production.

The answer is, it tastes better on lower temps, but still tastes great on higher temps at the start as well. Its starting hotter and the taste is plentiful as well as the vapor.
And if you start low, the flavor on the higher temperatures taste much better than one would expect IMO. It never got to the point where it tasted like burnt popcorn. The oven in the Indica heats the herb uniformly so there are no hot spots. The ABV is all the same shade. It is a very impressive vaporizer.

IMO you would absolutely love it on the first setting.

Thank you very much for reading my review.

@EveryDayAmnesiac, the clear and most obvious answer to your question is at the lowest temperatures for the greatest reasonable durations. Personal experience has allowed 15 minutes of contiguous back to back consumption on either cyan and blue to maintain the original pure herbal flavor. If you allow the Indica to sit idle between inhales, it will loose it's benefits on all settings. The reason for the mini spacer is to ensure prudent consumption as in fine wine.

Following this wine analogy, once the herb breathes too much/ heats over these desired gourmet levels of appreciation, one has to compromise their definition of perfection. In no way is there a jump from bliss to popcorn but incremental steps. each one arbitrary in the consonsumers taste bud sensitivity.

If flavor is your passion, keep the settings low and I feel you will be thoroughly satisfied 15 plus minutes in the lower setting. Regarding the highest settings of red, you could go 9 to 12 full hits before noticing degradation at a minor level. Remember , this is my subjective opinion, Please, others chime in.

What I don't seem to understand is that if the Indica vapes so uniformly, and you vaporize all the great flavor out at say, level 2, then how can it continue to taste good after that?

For example, when I use my Solo at level 2 (appx. 365), I get good flavor during most of that setting, although it's a temp a littler higher than I'd like. Then, after it's gone, the rest tastes like rather stale vapor for whatever setting I go to. Maybe other people simply enjoy the flavors that remain?

Again, not trying to be a dick here, I am just seriously confused because I find vapor to taste fairly gross once the initial wave of flavor is gone, and don't know how it continue to taste so good in someone else's mind at higher and higher settings.

I'm no where near the expert Vape Dr is, I've only been vaping a couple years and only have one other vaporizer. Now that the electronic smell wore off, the Indica tastes much better than my vapir2, though this could be because of the high mileage on the vapir2. Taste is very subjective.

Very lnformative well written review Dr Vape, maybe a little too well done. I'm sure its not your intent, but some of it sounds like you have or want a dog in the fight.

I own an Indica and like it, it has its flaws but overall works well, however if I was thinking of buying one and saw your perfect review with a link to buy one I would be suspicious...

Happy Vaping

:leaf:INDICA REVIIEW (#2) STARTING AT TEMP #3 GREEN, #4 PURPLE, then #5 RED:leaf:

Review of the Indica vaporizer starting at temp #3 Green from a FULL charge. Ambient air temp 73 degrees (relative to heat up time). Same as 1st review, I loaded the chamber lightly (not packed) with .22 grams of sour diesel, same as before with the spacer pushed flush with oven.

As the last review, this is with the mouthpiece drilled out to 3/32nds with no screen.
Sessions were same as last review in 10 hit increments, but taking 12-15 second lighter draws than on the lower temps.
Waiting 15-20 seconds in between draws, waiting 1 hour between sessions, taking an extra hit after I turned the unit off after 10 hits to cool the oven.
Here is my second review.

1st session.
Temp #3 Green 376F- Heat up time was 58 seconds. First 2 hits, excellent taste but wispy vapor. Good increasing vapor production from hits 3 through 10. Taste is amazing and cool. Very nice. Very nicely medicated!
Session time was just under 6 minutes (5:50).

2nd session.
Temp #3 again (still was hitting great so I stayed on #3) Battery indicator light white. Heat up time was less for some reason, only 54 seconds this time. Great vapor and taste right from the start. still taking "harder light/lower medium" draws (much less restriction with my mouthpiece). Super happy with the vapor production and taste. Very medicated now.
Session time was just under 7 minutes (6:55) will bump up to #4 Purple for next session. Very happy with 20 hits on #3 (plus 2 cool down hits, one after each session with great taste and vapor)

3rd session
Temp #4 Purple 394F- heat up time was 1:10. Battery indicator light white. Pulled oven door off and poked the spacer into the chamber lightly. Great taste and vapor right from the start again. Taste and vapor production still very impressive. Unit is starting to get warm midway through session around hit 5 or 6, but not unbearably hot by any means. Super heady high, still going strong. Will try temp #4 again.
Session time was 7 min.

4th session
Temp #4 Purple 394F- Heat up time was 1:17. Battery indicator still white! Amazing taste and vapor from the get go, unit and mouthpiece get warm after 3rd hit, still not unbearable but worth mentioning. Vapor seemed to stay the same from middle to end of the end of the session. Not quite as tasty as 1st session on #4, but still very satisfied.
I feel like I should have gone to #5 halfway through the session, but got through happily and feeling great.

5th session
Temp #5 Red 412F- heat up time was 1:33. Battery indicator now green. Unit a bit warmer now. I slowed my draws, and waited 30 seconds in between hits. Great vapor! Taste is good (I normally don't go above 400 but still acceptable tasting) unit and mouthpiece got warmer on #5 but not unbearable, warmer but not hot. Vapor production still there, I just had to adjust my draws, and in between hit times. I was taking much lighter slower draws on #5.
Session time was 9:30.

Charge to full time was 1 hour 54 seconds.

Final thought on the Indica:
This vaporizer is awesome.
Amazing hits, great flavor and vapor production on any temperature.
Not really much to complain about without feeling like I'm nit picking.
The dual batteries let you vape a long time, I haven't had my battery indicator reach red yet.
Unit gets warm at high temps for long sessions, but still very tolerable.
If you do not use a screen, I would recommend running a bristled pipe cleaner with ISO through the tube after every few sessions (the sour D got it a little "residuey" after a few chambers full).
keep the air path clean and it will hit like brand new everytime.
I love the fact that with less than 1/4 gram you can get 40-50 great vapes off the Indica with phenomenal taste and vapor.

I would consider the Indica to be one of the top performing portable vaporizers out there.
From the very nice wooden box, to all the extra parts provided that you would normally loose.
The pure pleasure of the vaping experience and ease of use makes the Indica a winner IMO.
I did not expect to get the Indica and all its extras for $200.
It is an exceptionally affordable portable vaporizer with a lot of bang for your buck!

I give the Indica :tup::tup:

I hope you liked my review. Remember results may vary depending on the quality and moist/dryness of your medicine.

If you liked my reviews of the Indica click here http://www.indica2.com/ and order yours today.

I want to thank you all for taking the time to read my reviews. I hope you enjoy them and they were helpful to you.

Another great review Vape Dr! And dont forget about the massdrop (they even linked to your first review!), it looks like thats gonna bring out a whole new batch of Indica-tors to the party and should help this little guy hit the mainstream and dominate the conduction portable market as it should. Its an incredible deal at 150-170 bc i'm not even kicking myself too hard for early adopting to spend 200 on such a well-designed device! We're all so positive about the Indica because we feel for us, it really (over)delivers on what we expect from portable vaporizers today

@EveryDayAmnesiac regarding flavor, obviously the taste of one load's 4th session hitting red cant compare to that first session on green, but relatively i think the vapor tastes excellent with the indica. for example, when i use my solo at 3 and 4 for a 12min session or so, and then step it up to 5 or 6 during the next one, the flavor is much more noticeably affected than when i run my indica for 1 or 2 sessions at blue or green and then step up to purple or red for the 3rd or 4th session. I can always tell when my Solo's bowl is getting to the end based on the distinct flavor change, whereas with the indica, i pretty much can only tell when a bowl is finished when it stops producing vapor. So basically the tail end of an Indica bowl tastes much better than the tail end of a Solo bowl. Now perhaps this could simply be due to the Solo's glass being more sensitive/pure to taste (so its a double-edged sword), whereas the Indica's stainless steel vapor path is more coated in resin which maybe helps disguise the unpleasant flavors? Maybe someone else with experience using both could confirm or deny this

This is what I was getting at. Your conclusion sounds like a good possibility.

I guess in my mind it's difficult to believe that ANY 2nd or 3rd (etc) session is going to taste fantastic, no matter where you start at the temp scale.

As far as a load tasting good after a half hour of roasting, I will have to taste it to believe it. :ko: Am ready to be convinced though!

My compliments to all concerned in this topic. When I saw @EveryDayAmnesiac's response to @Vape Dr.'s review I was afraid that I was about to come upon something ugly, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I thought it might turn into an argument over taste, and that's a point you can discuss but not argue over. For example, I can tolerate far more of the cooked ABV flavour than the friend I vape with occasionally. I find interesting flavours in well vaped cannabis. As long as it produces vapour, I can enjoy it. I don't make it a habit, but I have been known to take a bowl all the way to black. I like it, you might not. There's no argument to be had.

Someone's opinion shouldn't turn a thread ugly, it's an opinion. Everyone's entitled to their own.
It's what we all do a lot of or basis off of.
I'm glad @EveryDayAmnesiac is so passionate about the Indica. I hope you are able to try it and see how pure it tastes at low temps. You really should try it Sir.

@pakalo I agree. Taste comes down to your own personal preference.
What each person, themselves, considers to taste tolerable.
I am a big fan of low temps which taste great, but you sacrifice vapor.

@Shit Snacks thank you very much for reading my review. I tried to be as thorough as possible. You know I tell it like it is Shit Snacks!

Yeah, they shouldn't, but things get ugly fast, which is why I'm (usually) so hesitant to question any post or generally anyone here.

It's very difficult, IME, to seem like you're NOT disagreeing / being argumentative / calling someone "wrong" whenever you question someone's opinion / findings on a vaporizer while posting on a vaporizer forum!

@Vape Dr. I certainly appreciate your review, as well as your patient response to my rather heavy-handed approach at responding to your review.

No worries @EveryDayAmnesiac there are plenty of FC members that can vouch for my reviews and for the Indica itself.
I wasn't upset at you, you're just a bit skeptical which is a good thing IMO. I try to be as fair and honest as possible with any review, or any advice I give out.

@EveryDayAmnesiac , I mostly agree with Vape Dr and I'll tell you why . I usually get 3-4 sessions on a half load , and the flavor , although it is not preserved or the same as when I started the session , is still not bad . I don't know the science behind it to explain it , but the toasty or burnt popcorn taste that a session usually ends with , is definitely not as pronounced as it is with any of the other portables I have used . Normally for me , that flavor gets worse as the session goes on , but usually until I empty the oven , the taste is very mild . Maybe not great taste , but much MUCH more tolerable than what I'm used to . I hope that makes since ..

Man, with a full oven and a clean air path this little guy produces huge tasty clouds, definitely a slight learning curve to get the best out of it. But once you do.....

If your going somewhere with it always clean it first (easy and fast to do), or just bring a pipe cleaner with you. Very important to keep air path clean.

Wow, so after using the Indica more I have to say I'm pretty impressed! I *love* the flavour at Blue. Gives a nice head high and tastes awesome. The taste on Red is still better than what I get from my now-unused VG but I prefer the lower temps much more, even though the vapor is wispy. I can get good vapor at Red but not too interested in chasing clouds as I was before.

Great job, @Indica Vaporizer!

I had a Pax when they first came out and liked it a lot, however, for me the draw was a little too restrictive due to a mouth problem. :(

Not sure how much the draws of the Pax & Indica have been compared, but could any of you that have both or used both compare the draws? I've read enough about the Indica and the company that makes it to know it is a pretty nice conduction portable.

If the draw on the Indica is close to the Pax, I may have to pass on a future purchase. But, if the Indica does not have that extremely thick milkshake draw, then it may end up in my future line-up.

Hey guys, first post here,
I am looking for a vape that I can use around the house, and this is slowly becoming the one I am targeting. I do have a few questions:
1) Use while gaming/studying: How does it perform when it is not the center of attention? I am looking for something I can keep on my desk and use throughout the day. I have read some of the posts and it seems like you can keep the same load in and then turn it on and off and revape that material.
2) Attachments: I haven't seen anything about the ability to attach this to say an F-bomb or something similar. Has anyone tested this and found an easy solution for this?

Thanks for the help!

Absolutely, it is a great unit. Use it around the house, charge it with your USB when your on the computer, super portable solid as hell. Always performs excellent, and gives you what I would consider not only the tasting vapes, but holds flavor better than most any vape out there. I've left loads in the chamber, finished them the next day and it still tasted what I would consider great all things considering, it was a half cooked oven and left over night.

I did an F-bomb attachment credited to one of the guys here on the FC thread, not me. I'm not sure how they did it, hopefully they'll chime in here.
Personally, I used a piece of silicone, and a planetvape solo shorty glass gong.
Unfortunately I don't think its worth the trouble, the hits are a bit lackluster.

IMO Just use it as a fantastic portable. Use your solo for the F-bomb. IMO water tools are always more efficient on convection style vaporizers anyway.

I'm really interested in picking up the Indica as a portable low-temp vaporizer. I'm super happy with my PAX, which I recently purchased, but I have my eye on a couple more things for home use and alternating on-the-go use. The Indica is one of these things. :) If a new version is going to be released in a month, I'll be waiting on that--especially if black or gunmetal is available (although the classic zippo look is neat). My main concern regarding the Indica is discretion--I've been able to use the PAX in a crowd full of people with no odd looks (high CBD varieties for anxiety, no couchlock here). I am a little wary about the oddity of sipping out of what amounts to a zippo-inspired vape. I'm definitely not drinking lighter fluid ;)

Thanks for the review, @Vape Dr.

It's true that while the Indica looks super stealthy as long as it's not in use (you can say it's just a big ass lighter, because well, you like'em big!) but as long as you're using it, it's less evident... Indeed sucking a lighter will surely make some beholders curious... You could still say it's a liquor flask, but then people might start asking for a sip!

EDIT: also a liquor flask is likely to get you bounced out of any bar / night club...

Well I couldnt wait, I just ordered mine! Hopefully it gets here before the weekend so I can use it :D. I am so pumped after hearing all the hype, I didnt want to drop the money on a pax when it needed to be cleaned so often and Im glad that this vape is getting overall great impressions.

Using in a crowd is tough with any vape in my opinion, since they see you sucking and blowing clouds, but the Indica does fit fully hidden in my palm, so it just look like I'm yawning or something when taking a drag (still I haven't really tried it in the middle of a crowd completely surrounded by the people).

Also @Shrike regarding draw, there isn't much restriction to get a good hit (I've been told its easier than my Solo even, which is a new model with the improved airflow-which is indeed much improved over the previous Solo milkshake), but some on here like @Vape Dr. have also drilled put their mouthpiece hole slightly to improve the draw even more (I'm kind of afraid to try this myself, so I will wait for Indica to update them and hopefully send replacement mouthpieces to early adopters)
