Arizer Solo

gibson, Whatever vaporizer you buy, buy it with the idea of what if something happens and you have to send it back. I know that Puffitup will ship to Europe. Go with a vendor off of FC, to insure if anything happens you will be covered. The Solo has a great warranty . Some of us have had to send our Solos back recently, but not everybody. People comment more if something negative happens more than if something good does.

A lot of happy customers on this thread are fans of the Solo. Good luck with whatever vaporizer you decide to purchase.

@CarolKing thanks a lot for the advice! I've seen vapefiend a lot on FC and though the solo costs £150 on there it does mean if I have to send anything back it would be cheaper, and also if/when I buy it I won't get any import costs.

It's pretty much just a matter of time till I get drunk and buy it

I just used my Solo for maybe the fifth time in the past six months. I'm finding that the flavor is not as good as I remember. I'm getting a sense of that "burnt popcorn" taste almost immediately. Is it possible that I got so used to the flavor profile with my Herbalizer that the Solo no longer tastes as good to me? Could the difference in taste between convection and conduction really be this pronounced? I used to think the Solo had the best flavor ever, especially the first hit at level 2, but this most recent bowl left me feeling pretty disappointed. I wonder if something is wrong with my unit?

Try cleaning your bowl/stem. I had a lot of avb gunk stuck in the bowl and that was heating up and giving me a bad flavor sometimes.

I think the cheap low budget VAPOLUTION 2 is the best tasting vaporizer.
The SOLO I still use the most because it's so easy to use!
Burnt pop corn flavor I have tasted in other devices however never from a SOLO?
Then again I only vaporize top shelf CANNABIS!

Try it upside down Hamster Style.

Yeah, and then you can proudly wear one of these t-shirts that @stickstones had made. :brow:

OK I get it!

I kept my water glass in a safe place!
The "HAMSTER" technique I had to try. I love it! PURPLE KUSH SNOP DOGGY very frosty. I forgot extremely purple as well. Looks cool anyway!

Very awesome I might say!
Level 4.
5 rips.
STIR!
5 more rips.
Toss ABV.

CURVED stock stem with Chillum tip.

The "HAMSTER"!

Is @stickstones selling the shirts?

What the hell do you expect!!....Neglecting her for so long.
Gonna have to hamster style her real good for a few laps.
Don't worry, she'll forgive you.

Sort of. That bad taste, in my experience, is from herb touching the heatsink. That's why I add a screen on top when I'm at the desk or around the house.

I don't get a bad taste with mine, is this something that builds up over time? Or do other users not notice a bad taste.

From my limited experience with the Solo, I usually don't have any bad taste, but I did taste it a few times when my stem wasn't well packed.
As others said, I think if you're packing your stem well enough, nothing will fall off it thus avoiding the bad taste.

So probably not something that builds up over time, most likely something that happens with different packing techniques (and higher temperatures).

If you are obsessive about hamster style then you probably remove the stem between hits. That will contribute far more to avoiding the cooked taste than whether or not the load touches the heater. As Ano says, if you pack the stem properly it rarely falls down onto the heater. If you leave the stem in between hits, however, your load is constantly cooking and ruining the flavour. This effect isn't as pronounced with the Solo as it is with some other constant-heat devices, but it is most certainly present.

After 18 months of daily use my vapir2 seems done, won't stop heating and burns everything. The thing worked great.

Just for the sake of trying something new I picked up a solo to replace it, what a nice unit, no learning curve, it just flat out works!! The first few pulls on 2-3 are so flavorful it makes my nose tingle....

Happy vaping!

I usually pull the stem away from the oven a bit, until it hits some resistance. About 1/8 to 1/4 inch. It still stays in the solo, but hopefully not cooking as much. Then I take one last hit just to be sure.

Anyway, it doesn't taste that bad upon reheating.

Personally, I'm not having any trouble with stuff falling onto the steel plate if I hold it right side up. I pack it a bit, and that does the trick.

I do have trouble with bits flying into my mouth, so I'll try a screen for that.

One thing that works is to put some ground hops in first. They are a bit flakey even after grinding (well, mine are) and act as natural screens. And I kind of like the change in flavor sometimes. It also lets me vape more with getting too "baked" myself.
