Discontinued The Herbalizer

Almost there...
Hi there,
I have my herbie hooked up to the toro 13 to 7 red dome. I'm not sure if it's what I think yet. It is really smooth, I feel like I should be getting more visible vapor. Is potency being lost?

How about a video of you using it to see what is going on?
Or some more details like state of herb used, temps used etc..

Depending on the herb i use i get varying amounts of vapour.
My Think Different is a vapour monster and takes a while to stop producing vapour.
While other strains do not produce that much but the effects are the same.

I had some Montreal Chemo last night, great flavour but very little vapour even at the highest temp.
Ten minutes later i was seriously medicated!

I have tried a different set up. I'll upload a pic later. One session with it gave me decent results

The latest awesome result of vaping with Herbie is the efficiency. With my other vapes in usually aiming for .1-.13g a session. With Herbie I noticed I was sometimes unable to finish my load. So to stop wasting material, I now aim for .05-.07 per session, and I'm still ripped! Maybe its the dry vapor adding efficiency, but I'll say its the Herbie until proven otherwise.

What temperature are you using? Higher temperatures will give denser, more visible vapor. Also since Herbie is completely convection, the longer the herb is exposed to passing air the more vapor will be released, so try long inhales when using it through glass to get a thicker hit. If you're concerned that your unit isn't functioning up to par, I'd suggest tossing a bag on at max temp and letting it fill. If you get a thick, milky bag of vapor then it's working properly and it's just a matter of adjusting your technique to get the performance you want through glass.

When i first got the Herbie i thought the messages were kind of cool and different.
As time wore on i felt like they repeated way too often and i got kind of annoyed with them.
Then they just became invisible, open the lid and press the button.

But then today came around!
Had the shittiest day at work today! I was visibly shaking...
So the end of day comes i come home and am thinking about what to vape in Herbie to relax.
Purple Kush mixed with Jack Herer, 50/50. Sounds odd but i love the effect.

I open Herbie and glance at the message for some reason.
What does it say??
"Just breathe"!!!!

I think i am in love again!!!
:love::luv:

After checking twice a day for a few weeks, I'm happy to report that accessories are now available for sale at herbalizer.com -- I just ordered some back up parts.

Apologies if someone else has already mentioned this, but I didn't see it anywhere.

Cool, I wonder if the replacement balloons have a better valve seal.

I noticed the "3 replacement whips" option is no longer listed. Oh well, I just ended up buying some tubing on Amazon instead.

I got the Herbalizer around 2-3 months ago.
Just today I tried medicating and I noticed the magnetic bowl no longer works. I looked around to see if a piece possibly came out but all I could find was a few strands of what looks like plastic, it looks like this material peeled off. I now have to push the bowl in place and hold it there when using my Herbalizer, literally zero magnetic energy.
I use this machine often, and it's used properly, so this catches me off guard. Before my only issue was with replacing bags and the whip, but now this is a much bigger issue.

My unit came with a warranty, but how do I send this in for repair when I'm sure it smells like the herbs? The idea was to be discreet when I purchased this unit.

Are you sure the metal ring on the bottom of the bowl did not come out? When this happens the metal ring stays stuck to the base, which may not be completely obvious if you have not used Herbie before now. This has already happened to two of my bowls (epoxy did not hold) but they say the issue is resolved. Fix is easy if this is the case, you would just need a new bowl bottom.

First, write Herbalizer support and see what they say. Tell them your concerns and maybe you won't even need to send it in. If you do have to though, just give it a good cleaning with some ISO. You should be able to get it just about back to new without any lingering scent. I take the Herbalizer through airport security fairly often and never have an issue, so shipping just the bowl shouldn't be a problem. You can always vacuum seal the bowl for protection against smells if you want extra peace of mind, but it shouldn't really be necessary.

I am guessing they will ask for a picture, and then just send you a new bowl, maybe just the bottom piece that has the magnet.

This seems to be correct.
I think the metal ring is stuck to the base, it has a different look to it.
Should I attempt to take the ring off? Its really stuck on there. It feels like the unit will break if I pry the ring off.

It seems stuck faster than it is.. that is the nature of magnetic force, when there is no leverage (fulcrum)
Use a plucking motion from one side to the other as though the bowl were still attached.
I did that and it worked.
I will wait on a reply from Herbalizer support and will see if they send me another bowl.
Thanks everyone for the replies and I must say I am very happy with this machine.

I have been really thinking of getting this thing but man, the no glass on glass thing is a huge dealbreaker.

I use silicone to connect a glass stem right to the bowl which hits my hydratube. Totally glass with no silicone in the air path. You have to mcgyver it at this point but it makes the hits much better, imo.

This is what I mean, if I am paying almost $800 I don't want to have to this kind of thing. I thought we moved passed the whip/bag era. Who likes that taste?

I'm with you on the whips...I still don't like the taste. I am, however, developing a fondness for the bags for the first time ever. The extra time the vapor gets to cool makes for some of the least irritating hits I can get.

fwiw, I don't care what they come up with to mate it with glass, it won't work any better than my $15ish solution. And each vape is designed for its specific purpose. Try blowing bags with the EVO. It's our prerogative to mod things slightly to our idiosyncrasies. Besides, it ain't like there's a lot of vapes out there doing what you want. I can only think of two right now.

LED/LCD displays driven at 60 Hz flicker perceptibly. Some people are more sensitive than others.
I've learned for me I can see Herbie's flicker when under fluorescent lighting, but not under incandescent - go figure :hmm:

Then again I'm one of those people who could hear the flyback transformer on a TV that didn't have a picture showing two rooms away.

What you'll need:

ISO
Sharp knife, Scissors, or Razer Blade
Something to wipe with
New Oven/Turkey/Volcano/Etc. Bag

Take your stock bag.

Pull hard on the bag, pulling out the bag system. You can see how the outer ring is on backwards. My fault.

Pull off the outer ring. It looks sloppy because I had to disassemble this valve to figure out how to reassemble the other ones.

Pull off this orange ring and put to the side.

I wipe everything down very well with ISO except the orange ring. Be careful not to break the inner valve thing or rip your silicone mouthpiece. If this happens its no big deal.

Take your bag and pinch it/bunch it up evenly in the middle. Make sure the top is somewhat even.

Slip over the orange ring. Make sure all of the bag makes it through the ring.

Blouse or pull over the top of the bag a half inch to an inch over the ring. Make sure the bag is above the ring and evenly dispersed.

Reinsert inner valve piece. Note how even the size of the blouse is. The bottom is even, just a bad pic.

Cut excess bag off. Make the bag flush with the top of the inner valve piece. Be careful not to cut the orange ring. If you do cut the ring then you simply make a new one using a a piece of turkey bag.

Decent cut. Make sure all of your bag is tucked in. Try to position orange ring near top.

Another view.

Slide on outer valve holder.

Enjoy a fresh bag, and put your other freshies back in the box.

If your finished product leaks then take it apart and make sure the bag is completely above the orange ring. I had to take apart the valve in the pics and readjust.

Don't get frustrated if you are having trouble or problems with this method. Remember the bags aren't desgined to be replaceable, or are they?

This is a great post!! I did the same thing, but my process was a little different, because I did break the orange tape because I had a roll of it to make a new one. I'm 99% sure that orange ring is Kapton tape. I do not know that for sure, but I work with Kapton in my day job, and it looks and feels like it. Kapton has the right thermal properties to be used in Herbie, oh ya and NASA uses a TON of it...

I placed the inner ring inside the new bag first, then gathered the bag around it as tight as I could. Apply a rubber band to hold TIGHT. Apply a two pass ring of Kapton, remove rubber band. Continue rebuilding with directions from post quoted above.

By eye I'd say the tape on the seal is 5mm - something like this, but just in 5mm.
