PROPAGANDA at its finest "emergency room visits" "drug rehab" wow! :o hahaha what cute lil statistics they showed us. Did you see how they mutilated the nuggets! if they tested a real fresh dank bud I bet the thc would be even higher....now that would make their 'tests' seem even more worth while :p

This is just a guess, but I would bet the ER visits are from harmless Panic Attacks. I recently read an article about a cop that called 911 after making brownies from confiscated weed (I heard the 911 call and it sounded like he had a panic attack). Generally speaking, Panic Attacks and adrenaline are quite harmless compared to alcohol.

That's EXACTLY the kind of shit I was thinking about. That, and barrels of ground up bud behind a safe. And all those plants. I was definitely more into the visuals. Propaganda was the furthest thing from my mind. :/

Weed can also cause your sugar to crash, to those who have never experienced that or seen it before could be a scary thing. All one needs is a bit of sugar and they snap out of it but they wont want it, you have to force them to take typically.

Stronger herb just means you have to ingest less. You get less smoke (most users still do smoke ;) ) for the same effect, which is good.

It's not like getting a much stronger grade of heroin, where you don't know what you've got until you've overdosed. As for overdosing on weed, yeah that's a real serious problem.

I saw that report and several in years past i believe that they do theses reports to try to ensure parents that the mj they used may not have been dangerous but it is now. notice the wording "much stronger and more dangerous than it was a generation ago" they didnt mention that there is still not one person who overdosed. the menttion of er visits was vague and quick certainly not meant to educate anyone what could happen just enough to let people know that hospitals are filling up because of mj.

of course it is getting more powerfull that is the growers goal. there might just be something to selective breeding and evolution.

that cop is hilarious haha. but i gotta tell you, 1 and a half in and they think they are dying? the peak is usually at 4-5 hours. they were barely near the peak.

How can we be alarmed by 10% or even 15%...

WHEN THE TRUE ALARM IS ALCOHOL AT 95% to 100% purity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We... MUST... PROTECT THE CHILDREN! Aren't you worried about their experimenting with something of such shocking purity? Don't you care that they start filling EMERGENCY ROOMS due to overdosing on this? HOW DARE YOU!

Like max said, I've read some supporting evidence for a kind of dose-regulation reflex that most people naturally do without thinking about. Basically, if someone is smoking lower THC weed, he will want to take more to get the desired effect, while if he's smoking hella strong stuff, then he'll usually wait longer between bongs/vapes/spliffs, so the net result is a fairly similar overall level of blood-THC levels between the two strengths of cannabis.

The main difference between weak and strong stuff is how high you immediately feel after the first toke, which can be a bit scary if it's way more intense than you expected.

The thing that bugs me the most about the 'dangers of cannabis' argument, though, is the way that the media and authorities present the idea that Cannabis can cause Psychosis and Scitzophrenia as a fact, wherea it is still very much a theory (the difference between correlation and causation), and if anything, the evidence shows that while cannabis can trigger psychotic episodes in people who have a high genetic predisposition to severe mental illness, it does not trigger it in people who have a low genetic predisposition (a category the vast majority of people fall into).

I once saw quite an interesting documentary where they talked to a professor who was investigating the matter for the UK government, and he simply said that in the last 30 years, cannabis use in the UK has grown at roughly three times the rate of population increase, yet people suffering from psychosis and other severe mental illness has stayed level. It seems hard to argue that Cannabis causes severe mental illness when you're faced with a piece of evidence as transparent as that.

People also seem to forget that Alcohol is also similarly capable of trigger psychotic episodes in at-risk groups, yet it is fully available to all members of the public over the age of 18, with no controls on how much can be purchase in one go.

I have no idea how some people can ignore the fact that alcohol is also a drug and the way I see it a much more dangerous one at that. Combine that with the fact that cannabis can serve as a useful medication and its just mind boggling how much how the opposition can judge it in the way that they do. :(

Weed being stronger today is a good thing. I have yet to experience weed that was too strong and I used to live near Maastricht Holland and for about 10 years got to enjoy some of the worlds finest.

Edit: compare those lanky heat-stressed plants to some of the homegrown beauties you might see on say icmag.com. Seems like somebody needs to hire a new gardner. Nice job guys.

LOL. The weird thing is the cop didn't sound that fucked up in the call. I had panic attacks the first few times I smoked pot. I thought I was having a heart attack it was pounding so hard. I could even feel what seemed like a secondary pulse coming from what I imagined was a vein ON my heart, rapidly beating at it's own erratic rhythm out of sync with my heart! It was like having a badly harmonized evil coronary Simon & Garfunkel trapped in my chest! I realized it was all in my head later and was able to push through and get acclimated to the THC experience. I imagine plenty people have similar first experiences and come away from it convinced in the "devil weed" myth, never giving it another chance. Seriously, if weed causes a fucked-up reaction, it's usually your own fucked up head causing it. I actually think it's good to realize these things about yourself and if smoking pot induces this reaction, take it as a therapeutic psychological insight and get to work on healing your brain.
