Played a few hours of WildStar during the open beta thats going on for this week. Definitely a neat MMORPG, it packs in the entertainment department which is always so important in a video game...and not always present in an MMORPG.

that still goin on? I kinda wanted to try that game

League of Legends. Don't know if it has been mentioned. Probably though. Love this game.

I'm currently (re)playing Hotel Dusk: Room 215 for the DS. This is just the latest in a long line of me hitting every adventure game for the DS, including the entire Ace Attorney series in order. Games where you press more than one button? Pshaw...

I've been slowly getting into Wolfenstein: The New Order. It's intense and kinda old school. Brings back a lot of memories from the original.

To all games who buy their games on Steam or other online retailers, get them cheaper here :)

https://www.humblebundle.com/

Also at the end of your purchase, you get to choose where your money goes :) And if you select 100% towards charity, every cent you payed goes to a Hospital Charity that puts video game consoles in rehabilitation wards of children's hospitals.

I just finished Sleeping Dogs. Yes, it's another Grand Theft Auto clone, but the Hong Kong setting, playing as an undercover police officer, and the excellent voice acting which adds weight to an already hefty plot make it worth checking out. Be warned, though: there are some really annoying bugs, and some ideas that just seem half-finished, or lazily put together. An example of this is the way clothing sets work to give you bonuses: I fail to see the point of putting hundreds of unique items of clothing in a game, and then shoehorning everyone into the same six outfits in order to obtain the (often necessary) stat bonuses. Also, as is often the problem with these criminal underground sandbox games, I finished the game with 2 million dollars (cash, in my pocket, apparently) and not a thing to spend it on. The vehicles, clothing, and upgrades for your dwellings can all be had for a ridiculously low price compared to the amount of wealth you accrue. Some adjustments to this monetary system either in the form of more items to purchase, more expensive items, less ease of obtaining funds, or something as simple as forcing you to buy new residences (or even the hollow Saints Row "investments") instead of handing them to you for completing missions would be welcome. In summary: this game has a lot of unique ideas that should be standard in this genre, but aren't; excellent voice acting, and a very plausible story; it is also sometimes very glitchy (but these games tend to be), and eschews many things which have become staples of the genre to its detriment (easily discernible / named vehicles so that I don't have to buy three fucking cars to get the right one) but all in all I would say that I enjoyed it. I will give it a grade of B, and say that I would definitely recommend that anyone who is looking for a sandbox alternative to Grand Theft Auto, and Saints Row (Superpowers? Seriously, guys? As if the third one wasn't fucking dumb enough...) check this title out.

I've been playing Plague Inc. recently and I've had a lot of fun with it. The basic premise is that you "evolve" a virus/disease to infect and kill the entire world before those pesky humans can develop a cure. It has a surprising amount of depth for such a simple concept.

I've been playing it on the PC, I believe it's also available on the iPhone but since I don't own one I couldn't tell you if there are any differences between the two versions.

If you're looking for a nice relaxed game that you can chill with then it should fit the bill nicely.

@Deja Vu I totally agree with you on the Humble Bundles, they're a great way to purchase games.

I only play one game every night and that Medal of Honor War fighter. My bro left his xbox360 at my pad years ago with the original Medal of Honor. Never played it until I started working in a "high stakes" environment and when I needed to relieve some stress it came in handy. I tried to play other fps like some of the popular ones like COD, wasnt too fond of the gameplay but want to upgade to a PS$ around christmas time.

Back in HS we would go to the internet cafe and play Counter Strike fairly often, fun game! I bought it for my 360 but it just wasnt the same as PC

I had everyone at work hooked on Plague Inc. last summer, its a lot of fun but it can get tedious - I'm looking at you bacteria. I haven't played the PC version but I believe its similar to, if not exactly the same as the android/ios version. Finding the symptom combos was a lot of fun for me, I thought the combos such as Brown Streets (public defecation) and Uh-Oh (people accidentally shit their pants when they sneeze) were too funny. Its definitely worth picking up, I wouldn't pay much for it though considering it was free for Android.

I got Watch Dogs on PC today. Arcade racing, and basically GTA with shitty controls and an XP system for levelling up..

Strangely very fun though, and the graphics are not bad. Poorly optimised graphics (I can get better graphics in Hitman Absolution and Tomb Raider) but still looks nice on a high-end system :)

Exciting for some, but for personally; I feel like this has officially taken the same route as COD :( New name every year, same game.
This looks like a BF4 Expansion Pack to me! Oh well..

E3 was exciting in other ways for negative nancys like myself.. New Tomb Raider announced! And gameplay for Alien: Isolation which is going to be a legit horror game ^_^

Since the closed beta is not even available yet...your review is a little premature.

Might be an idea to wait until you've actually played the game.

That might be partly true of cod which used a modified quake engine from the 90's( although I have to say cod4 was a milestone in the fps world), but the BF series has had complete engine rewrites with each edition, BF2 is nothing like BF3 is nothing like BF4 they are only similar in that they are all real world fps, but the rendering engines involved are completely different.

Your point is bit like saying every year new vapes are released but they are all boring & exactly the same cos they all have heating elements & mouthpieces.

This looks like a BF4 Expansion Pack to me! Oh well..

Did I give it away when I said:

There is nothing wrong with the BF4 engine, it's currently the best large map, multi vehicle, fps engine to-date.

I was about to fully reply to that with more than a few sentences, but I just realised how annoying game arguments are. I withdraw all statements, cbf with that shit. Each to their own, whatever.

I can't judge those types of FPS games anyway, I'm more of a fps rpg type guy.
