...
just a curious question, does 7th floor buy back DBV or are the blemished ones just ones that were messed up in shipping?
I always assumed they were "factory seconds" ones that are still brand-spanking-new, but not up to their cosmetic standards. IE the powder coat didn't take on a dime-sized piece of the unit, or burrs on the metal. That sort of thing.

Congratulations, I've never used a log vape, but I find Da Buddha to be a fantastic choice. Man I loved Blue Nehi as a kid, now if you find it in my area you are beyond lucky. Was it Grape Nehi that tasted like old Dimetapp Elixer, or is that my memory playing tricks on me? (I swear there is nothing that would make me want to be sick, except the possibility of taking Dimetapp as a kid).

Well, I was skeptical that I wouldn't get much out of the Da Budda, I was wrong. I turned it on full blast for 11 minutes then backed it down to 11 o'clock waited a min then hit a slow long draw and held my breath and released a decent cloud that was was gone before i knew it.

I did this a few times then pulled the whip out and stirred then moved the dial to 12, hit it a few times stir then to 1 and finished the bowl off like that. All i can say is Wow, it certainly out did my expectations!!!

I will give it a little more time but seems to be like it will be a good buy.

You will see all sorts of ways folks use DB. I like low and slow. Find your sweet spot that gives good vapor. Mark that spot with magic marker. Yank button off and set mark straight up at the 12 o clock position. Start your sessions at 11. Give it a relatively quick WA WA suck, sort of like pulling on milkshake straw. Each suck clears chamber and allows new vapor to form. Don't pull as deep as you can but hold it longer. I stir bowl in between each hit and use the time to count to 10 for timing my hit. Let it out slow and enjoy. You don't have to take another hit till you are ready. After 4 or 5 hits turn knob to 12. When bowl is filled with twigs because you melted the flesh of the bones you know you are doing good. A couple of final hits at 1 and you will notice the "popcorn taste or smell". Bowl is cached. You should never have black. If too dark don't save, but pull quicker. Slower pull means chamber doesn't clear and you get combustion. Takes me about 40 minutes to kill a bowl.

You need to get a jar that seals to save your duff. (ABV or used material) to save for cooking, firecrackers, tincture or hash.

Ok sweet, Thanks for that good Info TeeJay. It seems to be the 1pm spot that works best for me. But I am liking it so far.

I just ordered a blemished Da Buddha straight from 7th Floor. I've been using the Herbalaire 2.2 as my daily driver for over a year now, but I just find the tiny jet holes and stainless steel bowl are not to my liking. I am looking forward to the simplicity and durability of the Da Buddha, as well as drawing on something that isn't like sucking through a milkshake straw :uhh:. Don't get me wrong, I love my Herbalaire, but it is time for something new, and even my fiancée has noticed that I make remarks almost daily about its frustrations.

Does anyone who has used both as their daily driver have specific comparisons they could give me between the two models, and how the overall experience is day to day?

For anyone who was speculating about the blemished models, I haven't received mine yet, but I did notice this on their site prior to ordering.

*These units usually have a scratch, dent or chip on the housing. They are brand new and have never been used. They are tested and have the same 3 year warranty, as our new units. We do not sell previously-used refurbished DBV's.

I have a blem. Don't know what it was.
This units beauty is in it's simplicity. It is probably cheaper to whip out another as opposed to re-certifying or troubleshooting. Adjustable rheostat, heater, heater cover. We do the adjustments necessary for optimal operation. Simple, smart. I once again call out for the origin story. Someone knows it.

My blemished Da Buddha just arrived right in time for my favourite daytime guilty-pleasure television programme. I put about 0.15 into the wand, put a screen on top, sat down for half an hour, and all I can say is :whoa:! It is a long weekend up here, and this guarantees that it will be a fantastic one. I will post more if / when my coherence returns :o.

Hey all DBV owners, have a wand extraction question. I usually just clean my wand(standard wand that comes with DBV) with a cleaning agent from the DBV website. Recently I became more interested in reclaiming from the wand.

Feel free to share how you all reclaim from your wands, would love to learn all the different methods you all use.

I use a flat dabbing tool to scrape out all the wand hash. I think it is sharp on the edges and I find it works better than the blunt side of a chop stick or anything else I have tried and it was only a few bucks.

Holy Moly I feel stupid. I have been using E-nano tube and combusted and made it work but it was only occasionally right. Then it struck me duh! Just don't plug DB wand into whip and much better all glass experience. That my friends is why they call it dope. What a fool for not seeing the obvious.

LSV Direct draw wands are a neat option:

The EV-2 uses the same 18mm joints as the DBV for bowls, so the direct draw stems from there are a valid option as well:

I like those because I can have them point upward for easy access. Way more comfortable than using the wand. They also come with a basket screen to close up the bottom, so no more fears of spilling herb in the heater cover ;)

No curve, but longer.

It's been a while, but I need to buy a new wand/whip. I've had my DBV for a few years now. I noticed they don't sell the style of wand that came with my unit. I was just wondering if the new wand will fit into the old heater cover, or if I need to get a new heater cover as well?

You won't need a new heater cover
