Ok, next dab I will be filming. Let it be known that the nano is incredible for oils and concentrates of all consistencies!

In order to avoid the waiting times with the Nano switching between flower and oil temps, I ordered a Persei to have a dedicated oil vape as well as a ti nail/reclaimer setup. My philosophy was that if I have a nail/reclaimer rig, I could use this with the Persei hammer top and my bubbler or the Persei with one of the oil carts; for flowers and kief, the Nano will be always on call, 24/7.

Unfortunately, my nail/reclaimer/dab tools/slick pads and my persei/accessories have been slowed up in shipping. Thankfully, in the meantime, my trusty toasted (from being left on at setting 9-10 too long) maple burl nano has made sure that I have remained stoned out of my mind!

Ok, so here's the skinny on using concentrates and SS wool with the Nano.

First of all, let's go over why you might choose SS wool to vape concentrates off of.

1. Cotton can cook - yes, you can heat SS wool hotter than cotton for you super high temp dab fans.

2. Cotton seems to change the taste of the vapor in a way that some (including me) find not so pleasant.

3. SS wool can be reclaimed off and used ad infinitum.

Of course, it's up to you what you vape with.

For those interested in SS wool, this video should help you with what is necessary.

As you can see, the subject of the video's GonG is packed with SS wool for about half of the stem length of the GonG.

The SS wool can be pushed to the top of the GonG for reloading, for which the subject of the video uses a glass dab tool.

Then, the subject pushes the SS wool back into the GonG, and applies the Nano screen, upside down, stuck to the top of the SS wool plug, directly over the dab.

After this, it is just a matter of setting the nano to level 9 (for this particular wax/shatter) and doing the usual Nano + GonG + Bubbler = vaked equation.

Feel free to repeat these methods to your satisfaction/stupification. Don't be reckless though, nobody likes a cowboy!

Enjoy!

So I'm most likely buying a Nano sometime in the next week from Andy (Exotic or standard, to be determined based on what he has in stock).

Forgive me, but I'm a log vape newbie (actually anxious to see how it works and performs). Aside from what's included in the kit, what other accessories are a must-have when purchased? I'm seeing some mention of the volcano stainless steel concentrate pads? Are those used instead of cotton?

I'm planning to connect to some bubblers, so I'm sure I'll need to purchase a GONG

I want to buy a new cheap sidecar glass piece, but I'm afraid of what my wife would say to TWO vape related shipments in one week. Better time it out so the pieces arrive a week apart :freak:

It works really simple
Just a ceramic heating element inside a ss tube with wood around it for housing
Yes the ss pad is for oil so you don't have to use cotton I don't use oil in my nano often I prefer a dab when I do nano dab I just use cotton and cannot taste the cotton
Yes you will need a GonG

What about for catching the reclaim like I do with my Lotus and Ascent - can I shove some cotton in the glass to prevent bits of ABV from flying through the screen?

Just a thought - do you think it would be an advantage to be able to reach even higher temps like 475-500 for a faster cleaner evaporation of the concentrates? I have seen this achieved with other vapes and it seems to be the case.

The Volcano pads are not very easy to adapt for this.
I currently use organic cotton, skimpy wisps, on the included basket screen.
I have 316L SS wool coming, to play with.

I highly suggest testing your new Nano out with some flowers, at 5.5 - 6, then going from there.
I usually use setting 7 - 7.5 for concentrates, which gives me flavor, great effects, and doesn't burn the cotton. (when I'm not using the VXN. OMG. it rules)

I have plain old Walnut, though it is customized with laser etching... but the wood itself is really gorgeous, even for a simple specie piece.

I often wonder how well a 60W SSV ceramic heater would work in the Nano. As long as you don't go pass 5, lol. If I had the money to blow I'd attempt it.

Funny, before I found the nano I was going to build my own Hakko vaporizer so I could use the SSV like I'm using my Nano now. But I'll gladly pay the $200 for such a nice looking product, ;pd;.

Does anyone know how many amps of electricity the Nano consumes at max heat?

If you are remotely preheating, then why not leave it at your default lowest level? That would warm it enough given the time. When I let mine preheat too much I actually have to cool it off before vaping.

I've seen FC users use the WeMo for the Vapexhale Cloud which uses more Amps than the nano, so you should be good.

A cheaper alternative would be to use a generic AC timer and just set it for around the time you get off work. It would be more limited but still just as reliable.

Does anyone know how many amps of electricity the Nano consumes at max heat? I'm seriously considering to install one of these wifi controlled outlets on it so I can remotely pre-heat my nano before I get home from work/wherever. But I think these things can handle up to 15 amps, so I should be fine

Hi there:
I leave my Nano on 24/7 since I got it.
It's been like an year already. No problem at all. Just leave it at 4.5 or 5 on the dial. Before starting my vaping ritual with the Nano, I crank it to Max and prepare myself. Load stem etc etc.
I bring it back to 6, wait for a bit and proceed to rip that beast.
IMO, this way, you don't need to wait.
BTW, get the Belkin WEMO Insight. It's the latest version. I run both my EVO & Cloud+ through it. I use a small 3 outlet power surge protector between my WEMO and VHX products. WEMO-->power surge protector--> EVO+Cloud.
My vaping shed is a good 25ft from my wireless source. WEMO works well.

Does anybody have advice of how to get the wires out of the crimp connections at the base of the nano? I've tried holding the tip with good pliers and levering the inside with a flat screwdriver but that doesn't seem to work for me. Is this the best way to do it? Thank you.
