The Cloud EVO Anticipation Thread

got the same mail and fingers crossed my Evo is also still working and pumping great vapor but I usually watch it close.. had a few glowouts
Same here. But so far the reliability of EVOs seems a lot higher than the old Clouds. I mean... my old Cloud would definitely crack the first time it would slighty overheat like this. However the EVO has already survived several of them.
The new enclosure, replaceable bamboo and removable power-cord also add a lot to the reliability imo. So I can't wait for the properly working EVO. The EVO I have - hypothetically minus the glitches - is SOOOO badass vape...
I'm glad they didn't stop the International production, already feared everbody went for the money opt out :D
That would suck :(.
But I think they would go INTL even if all of us cancelled.
They are going to sell a lot more units when they release the international model than preordered.

I got that update too...

I know obviously only VXL knows what's really happening at the moment, but can anyone with some kind of mechanical or electrical engineering background chime in on why it could be taking so long?

We're now at 7 months since it was supposed to launch, and 2 months since the failed launch.

I can't think of a single vape that has had this much trouble getting a non-us version out...

Most battery powered vapes seem to use either an external charger, or a multi voltage charger, and most desktops seem to have either a power pack, or dedicated international versions...

I mean, I know there's complicated electronics, and algorithms and such, but yeah, I just don't get what's taking so long...

I also find it very strange they have stumbled so badly on this issue. Hopefully the long and painful wait will come to an end soon.

I like the way they are offering us a refund, which I can imagine is probably cheaper for them at this point with all the freebies they offered us, say, do we get interest from the cash we lent you? ;)

I'm definitely waiting til i get my evo but at this point I don't really think about it. I've fully stopped using cannabis (well not fully, but maybe once-twice a month) so this wait is way less annoying than it has been but i am still keen to get the cloud as lots of my friends are keen to try it.

I can't even remember when my cloud arrived/broke its definitely been a couple months. . . This wait just doesn't seem to get any better.

EDIT: I saw in their latest update they had the cloud running smoothly across all voltages/variables, does that mean we are no longer getting a converter? Because I was quite looking forward to that.

Can anybody post the emailed update?

Here is quick update from our engineering team. Since our last update, we have been able to go through 2 additional revisions to eliminate the overheating issue. Our latest firmware update was running smoothly across the variable voltage/frequencies but in one instance we caught it overheating. Our engineering team has identified that variable and made the appropriate tweak and we will continue testing it.

While I would like to give you a concrete date on when the testing will be completed, the engineering team wanted to do some more testing to ensure that the solution we have is a long term one. We are working our fastest to resolve this issue while making sure that we are attentive to all details. As always, if you guys do not want to wait and would like a refund, please just let me know. Otherwise, based on the extra amount of time spent on testing, we are sure that once we get approval, our international customers will be our happiest customers.

Maybe they just can't get it working?

it does appear that way, there wasn't this much hassle converting the original cloud to our power supply,

i know the guys are doing there best so all we can do is keep the faith, Its really frustrating also cause

i had been keeping my Tangie strain for the longest time wanting to christen it in the evo and taste those

flavas ( yeah i know first world problems)

Yeah, nah it severely blows. I've been laying off the green so I'm not too bothered but I wouldn't mind a blast on the evo.
Another month and it will be practically a year since we paid. . . It doesn't seem like any other vape has had this much difficulty going intl.

International Vaporists,

I hope everyone is having a great week. We wanted to let you know that we spent our weekend doing final testing on the international algorithms. We will be sending out test units to our international distributors so that they can test them in a real world environment. Depending on what their feedback is, we will be able to figure out our (2nd) official international launch date.

Thank you once again for all your patience, we very much appreciate the extra time given to us in order to resolve these issues.

Yeah but what does this actually mean?? From my reading of it instead of the Evos being nearly ready to send out (as has been intimated on a number of occasions), we are now going to have to wait until they have been dispatched to international distributors (not customers) and tested again...

So we'll now be waiting until the devices have been dispatched from the US, received in each country, cleared customs, and spent X amount of time being used by distributors (Vapefiend in the UK I assume) before they make a decision as whether to release them to us. And then we've got to wait while they are posted from the states too!

So we've going to have yet another delay, and it's gonna be weeks/months I imagine till testing is complete. I just wish they'd be honest about timescales- I can cope with waiting fecking ages but it drives me up the wall to be led to believe that things are about to happen only to be slapped in the face and told to wait another few months!!

(I'll try and calm down now)

Has anybody in the uk brought a evo off this uk site namastevapes.co.uk they claim to be selling 110v evos with the converter for £320 have brought some elbs off them and my friend has brought a pinnacle so it's a genuine site

I would avoid that unless they offer some warranty guarantee.

I highly doubt VXL will cover it if it breaks, and IMO, it's not worth the risk of having the evo go into meltdown mode...

Thats tempting but ill wait for vapefiend to get the int units, on the other hand if someone was to buy these from them and the units went kaput early doors how is that the buyers fault, they would need to be replaced like any warranty unit.

Just had this email off them
Thanks for your email. We supply the converters and as long as you use the one we supply you will 100% have no problem with the unit. If you do you can return it to us for warranty work how ever you 100% need to use the converter we send to you. We presently have 5 in stock and supply you with all the right connectors etc... please let us know if you would like to place an order. Thanks
Mmm very tempting as I just can not see vapexhale getting there shit together any time soon they just don't seem bothered

I thought they said it didn't work or we would of been given one weeks ago while they sorted out international version??? Then we could keep it or swap!
I still don't see why the international fanatics can't get an evo to test.
Just seems to be one thing after another

They seem very confident don't they, plus your getting a guarantee of the warranty upheld, i wonder how long and how many units they have sold and if any issues have arisen.
