About three users have all said it has gotten cooler. Im really hoping your just more sensative to the vapor because i was damn excited about my pnp ripping with cooler vapor.

Think about how physics work and you will have your answer. The air path would have to absorb more heat than that of the normal pong and some how dissipate it faster. Act as a heat sink. Since the glass is wrapped with plastic and the air path is very short, I'm going to say that their won't be a noticeable difference. In fact the glass may act as an insulator and keep the air hotter.

The McGyvor mouthpiece i made with an extended air path and the interim GonG that VB sent that I use with a baby bottle nipple cut off is what I will be using. I think the money I spent on 2 glass lined Pongs was money I could have spent buying a bubbler or some top shelf herb. Just my 2 cents worth. I had high hopes.

You may have a different opinion.

New collar and GPonG arrived (very quickly) from the yoyo kid. Nice guy.

Collar replacement commencing.

Lizard, did you pull out your own collar piece on your Pnp? I've tried pulling it out, I haven't had any luck.

The re-fit was done by a friend with steadier hands than I possess.

He had some difficulty removing the collar at first because the screws were a bit tricky to get going. The whole process took 40 mins including finding the right screwdriver.

@Lizard King,

Thank you for providing a visual representation of the "Top" replacement process.

I'm sure many of us will feel more comfortable changing it out having this as reference now.

Cheers!

Thank you for this. What size screwdriver was required?

Yesterday I received my new gpong and replacement "top" piece from @theyoyokid1 . Excellent customer service!

I am quite impressed with the new gpong. It seems to fit much more securely, and the heat seems much more contained with the glass insert. The plastic on the mouthpiece around the heating chamber doesn't seem to be getting as hot as previously.

The temperature of the vapor seems on par with the interim TRVB gong. The adjust-a-bowl gong is a little cooler as it is longer than the other two.

The taste seems to be the same as the TRVB glass mouthpiece and adjust-a-bowl gong.

PNP DIY "top" piece replacement.

I know @Lizard King has just beat me to it, but @Sativape requested a step by step pictorial guide to replacing the PNP "top" piece.

Things you will need...
A phillips 00 screwdriver (jewellers screwdrivers should do).
A couple of plastic parting tools, or a couple of small flat bladed screwdrivers will do if you are careful.
A new top piece.
Patience!
WxtyIOC.jpg

Gently prise out the lens covering the switch and leds using the parting tool or a small flat bladed screwdriver...
ODrcBES.jpg

You should now have this...
oN8VNll.jpg

Now the tricky part. I found this awkward, as I didn't have enough hands, so I asked my girlfriend to assist. In the photo below you can see me pointing to a recessed tab. There are 2 of these either side of the PNP. You need to depress both at the same time while holding the PNP and pulling the innards out through the top. I used the 2 parting tools for this, as I didn't want to mark the unit, but if you are careful you can use 2 small flat bladed screwdrivers. My girlfriend held the PNP and pulled at the top piece while I depressed both tabs.
YamGPkJ.jpg

The innards are now free to remove from the shell...
BMqgc5Z.jpg

This is what the guts look like...
SW6S5cV.jpg

Gently lift up the plastic top section and pull it away from the pcb and battery so that you can access the 3 screws on the bottom which secure the "top" piece to the plastic base (the heating chamber). You will need the phillips 00 screwdriver or a very small phillips jewellers screwdriver to remove the screws...
tyT5e0A.jpg

The "top" piece removed from the heating chamber...
jB9fcrj.jpg

Screw the new "top" piece back on...
ghZOTbP.jpg

This is how it should look when fully screwed home...
h5sBQ77.jpg

Clip the top plastic section back on to the pcb and insert back into the plastic shell, make sure the tabs relocate in the holes in the shell...
hBClpN3.jpg

Replace the lens, it should easily snap back into place.

That's it, you are done!

This is my first tutorial like this, and I only have a camera phone, so I hope this helps all the people thinking about doing this themselves. It really is pretty straight forward, but I would advise you to do it before you medicate, not afterwards! ;)

You guys are awesome! Great pictures on how to with step by step instructions. Very valuable info for Pnp owners.
Regarding the glass lined pong:
I guess I had too high of expectations because the hack job mouthpiece I made has such good flavor.
Very good service from the yoyo kid.

From reports I have read here, it seems like I may have had the best PNP GonG with my custom one back in the day! Well, glad I was able to sell that to the new owner of my PNP too. A mate of mine who got a PNP after seeing mine has ordered his pGonG from yoyokid. Is it definitely better than the PonG's at least, no melty burny yuckiness?

Wow that battery is a lot bigger than I expected.. You'd think it would hold a charge a little longer. At least it looks fairly easy to replace?

about that battery replacement... i remember someone having replaced their battery early on this thread... and i 'm keeping it in mind for the future, in case my unit's battery life drops...

so i want to ask... has anyone had any problems with replacing their battery?

So I ordered a 2nd PNP from the popular ebay seller @theyoyokid1 with an additional gong. Whoaaaa! I think my first unit is defective because this new unit hits like a hammer with the WT. The new gong seems to fit better but seems to get my bowl area a little bit more messier. Fair trade off I suppose.

@GeekVape,

I truly appreciate the time you took to share these detailed step-by-step pictures.

I think of myself as a hands on person, but by you sharing this valuable information... it helps out a great deal.

This will instill confidence in anyone to tackle this job.

No wonder you got so many likes for your post!!!

Good on yah mate!

I'm glad TRVB via TYYK1 have made both the PGong and "Top".

PNP has to be hands down the most travel convenient portable vape!

Now with this all glass path, and the fix available, there should be no reason for the PNP to be a top contender.

All vapes have their issues, just read the other threads and find out for yourself.

The PNP comes close to perfect.

Especially if you invest in a portable power source, you cannot go wrong.

I just took my PNP camping and I kept the PNP topped off the whole weekend with a deep cycle battery that was hooked up to a solar panel!!!

Anyone PNP'd around a camp fire?

This is the only exception to allowing for some combustion!

Hits the hardest by far. Not one vape can give the clouds the PNP can.

@SiDankies true that bro. I was totally out clouding a friend who has the Ascent at a party this past weekend.

Dude my vape totally has more vapor than yours.... Kids its not all about clouds of visible vapor. Some of the hardest hitting and strongest thc hits come from hard to see blue vapor.
Giving people bags of vapor has always impressed me more than some weird device that is hot and needs specific knowledge to use. Some sort of balloon mod to pump air through the pinnacle 4.0
Maybe a charging/pump stand..

The utility of the pinnacle and its bullet system with dual battery power heating elements is what keep it a the next level of vaping.

This unit will be referenced for years as what a vaporizer should include. Hats of to TVRB for getting in the game early.

Please send me a glass lined GPONG now!

Well lets see. I have a SOLO a PNP and MFLB.

PnP gives biggest clouds and gets me the most high while being the most efficient. And clouds do mean a lot. Especially to people who dont vape a lot.

This thing is SO efficient. I was at about 1/4 Oz per week when I was combusting and now I'm down to about 1/8 or less per week. I'm definitely medicating almost just as often but I'm getting 2 or 3 sessions out of less than I went through on every bowl before. The PnP has definitely paid for itself already, not to mention it helped me kick cigarettes too

While the PNP is a great vape, IMO, the Solo produces much thicker and tastier vapor, especially when paired with a bubbler. I haven't used the new glass pgong yet on the PNP so taste might improve with that.

LOVE my Solo (older model), but the PNP gives denser clouds, IMO. Solo sure beats it on taste, though!
