Vapman

Vapman, in my opinion is extremely casual, laid back, always delivers good predictable hits, no combustion, great taste.

Lotus always needed attention and much bigger chance of combustion, I felt like a crackhead. It wasn't as casual feeling.

I'm gunna go home after writing this and take a walk out back with the vapman and listen for some Ruffed Grouse drumming, looking for females ;)

Also, I feel like I need WAY less to get medicated with my vapman. It's just nuts.

@OF was it you that loaned it to a friend? Maybe it was a mod I'm thinking of..?

Yes, I've loaned out my Vapman = (at least one of them), but can't connect that with the what you're saying??? Don't judge me too harshly, I've also loaned out several other vapes over the years.......call it weak character?

I was high and bored one night last week, so I emailed Element and asked basically if they were ever planning to come out with a larger vape, I was surprised they responded but they did and we had a very nice email exchange. They are really very nice and here is a snippet from the last email

Hi Hoyo77
At the moment we can only offer vapman in different woods but not in different sizes.
To change the size of the bowl would require to change almost everything else as well.
Beside this, we believe that vapman has the ideal size in terms of efficiency and heating time.
Tests showed that a larger bowl requires a longer heating time and this again
makes it more difficult to judge the heat. You might say now, that one could use a stronger
torch for a larger bowl, but this does not help because of the danger of burning the content.
A small bowl has a lot of advantages, instead of filling one bowl, you can fill two bowls and
enjoy the incredible tasty first hits.
Thanks for following us over the years and we hope to have you as a follower in the years to
come, we believe vapman is here to stay, it is probably the best gas powered vaporizer.
Thank you!
Your vapman-team

I meant your MIA lotus, maybe I was thinking of someone else.

For the record I now have all 3 holes open and it'll be left that way.

First problem is it's missing in action..... The second problem is a mite harder to solve. I can meat you at the county line but I think that leaves us about 2,000 miles shy of a hand off?

Details.

Yes, I agree on the holes, I've plugged and unplugged (both toothpicks and tape) but I too am 'back to stock' ( almost like they tested it as well?). I do think guys should experiment with the idea, don't you? Assuming another fellow's experience and likes will match yours is like buying eyeglasses for a friend?

BTW, I lost some innocence and sanity along the way, I wonder if they are now in the same place as the Lotus?

I'm using all holes plugged, but I'd like to hear what others have to say about this.

For example, kidFated, OF, why did you choose to unplug the holes?

Anyone else?

Because I liked it better that way after giving it an honest try both ways. I even bought a spare top piece and did an A/B test (alternated tops on the same base and load between hits).

I figure the holes are there because at least a few folks agreed back in development? It is, I suspect, a matter of personal taste. I think owners should try for themselves, but recommend tape over toothpicks. Toothpicks can be a snagging hazard unless trimmed off then getting them out can be an issue. For instance, I managed to chip the edge of one hole. A tiny bo-bo but you know how such things attract the eye....... Like I said, glad I got a spare top.

My Vapman has been on loan for weeks. The friend who has it loves the efficiency and the effect. However, she hates the noise of the torch and the required dexterity. I suppose I agree. If stealth is not a concern, the Vapman is amazing. If stealth is a concern...there are some bumps.

Having said that, I miss the little fella. I decided to bequeath my VM to my friend and to succumb to the siren's song of the walnut. Looking forward to a new friend. I was shocked to see that you can now get a basic version in two of the "exotic" woods.

Thanks for your reply OF.

It's interesting how tastes differ from one person to the next. I did the same thing with my second Vapman and liked the holes plugged so much that I plugged them on both.

I do find it gets hotter plugged up, but I feel I get better quality vapor. Like the air that comes in the mouthpiece holes "waters down" the vapor? So to me, the plus point of leaving the holes open is cooler vapor and a cooler Vapman but not better vapor.

This is why I was curious to hear from other people about this. To see what benefit others got from leaving the holes open.

I'm not saying that my way is the right way, and I know that René is much smarter than me – I would not be able to come up with something this awesome in a hundred years.

I'm really, honestly curious.

Also, am I the only one that sits there admiring the Vapman after finishing using it? It's just sooooo cool!

Dang, nice price. I'm pretty jealous, that's what I got my basic vapman for.

It feels just like the depths of irony to be writing my masters' dissertation these days, trying to smear consumerism as the ultimate weapon of this socio-economic stranglehold and yet sitting down to tap out my first ever product review (must have read thousands over the years). I'm not joking, this is the first time I ever consider it worthy to share what I think about something I bought off the internet.

For a seasoned, often guilty consumer of varied online goodies, experienced and obsessive late night forum-trawler, to be sitting down to write his first review is quite a step in an uncertain direction, believe me.

Enough fanfare, let me get to the point.

I bought a walnut Vapman mica, received it a few days ago, this is my second vape (about 9 years after a short and futile attempt at vaping satisfaction via a primitive D-shaped vapir contraption, promtply stowed away and forgotten). Must say in all honesty now, this Vapman thing is changing my life.

I was lucky enough to get some particularly tasty citrussy-crisp-indian-subcontinent botanical from my local, quasi-legal Catalan bartender-florist (Barcelona = new Amsterdam in terms of quasi-legal aromatic culinary herb culture), the very day this lil' piece of wood arrived, my man was behind the bar smiling as ever. Got home, fired up conservatively following instructions, the taste is unbelievably delicious. Spent hours in heaven wondering why on earth this sort of thing hasn't been everyday fare amongst us happy botanically-minded folks since jazzy decades ago. It marvels me to think that we've probably spent entire millenia looking after and enjoying these plants and I am one of the first to enjoy this sort of pleasure with such little hassle, such minimal harm to my body or anyone else. Thanks, fate.

Just a note to point out that to me the very idea of inhaling lovely locally-grown herbs through something that looks like an ipod, pulsating LED lights etc just seems somehow wrong. I medicate to escape the very world of cables and microprocessor-rich gadgets that I necessarily have to deal with every day of my life.

This little thing is just an intriguingly simple, familiar, earthy, sweet-smelling piece of wood and metal to be picked up, fired up, held warm between your fingers, when you are feeling at your most connected to whatever mother spirit you happen to adhere to at the time. I have just loaded it up with a richly fragrant mix of flowers and solid medicinal blends, have heated it gently, taken one slow breath and ascended to blissful verbosity with the pleasant confidence, as I can tell from the taste and colour, that there are many, many similarly devastating draws to be had from that one tiny, lightly loaded, golden bowl. You can cover the holes if you are so inclined, hits will be heavier, but frankly, why hurry? Enjoy the taste and fly on.

Needless to say, apart from the beauty, efficiency and sheer mystique of the Vapman, one celebrates the idea of NEVER AGAIN having to suck hot, toxic smoke into one's lungs any more. Goodbye to 14 years of primitive, smoky stone, hello to clear-eyed, clear-minded future!

So better leave you here, thanks for reading my perhaps unnecessarily happy rant :-)

PS: mine came with the 'vapman' burnt-on lettering somewhat incomplete, only the v, p, and n letters are clearly visible. Seems to just add to its personality. Plus I hate trademarks, even coming from a cool Swiss guy like this!

Pleased to meet you all!
