Life Saber (LSV) by Elev8 Vehicles

Pick an ssv and wand/hc, then pick a bubbler.
Then call the store and ask them which ground glass adapter will connect the two. As has been pointed out, the tubing will also connect to 14mm female ground glass without an adapter. You could also use a 14/18 reducer bushing with ssv tubing and 18mm female ground glass without an adapter.

edit: sorry thought this was the ssv thread. The part about the tubing does not apply to the lsv.
Cheers. I'm having trouble as Australian Vaporizors do not sell waterpipes. As I've mentioned on the SSV thread my bong has a METAL 14mm stem which seems to be way out of date in the US. It's not glass.
So what I need to know is what can I get get HERE (and what it actually is called on Australian Vaporizer or maybe ozbongs website) that will get either SSV or LSV going into my metal 14mm stem.

If that sounds confusing it's because I am confused - totally! @Frederick said he'd help as he's an Aussie poster (I think) but if anyone else could look up these websites and tell me what I need I'd so much appreciate it.

I've been warned off the Cloud PLUS (can't get EVO here) which is a shame because that sounds so much easier! So it's the LSV SSV or Plenty.
Water filtration is high on my list.
For the price of the Cloud + $ 100 more I could even get 2 of the above

Where did you get your bong, do you have head shops? You need something with a 14 or 18mm ground glass connector. You may be able to put a new downstem in your current bong, or may need to shop separately for a new bong/bubbler. Have you considered calling 7th floor or going to their website? I'm pretty sure they accommodate international customers, you guys both speak english and they have some great bubblers so 1-stop shopping. I converted my old bong with something like this:
$_57.JPG

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Downstem-Do...408?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e83de4358

They come in different lengths, but if yours is made for a metal stem width could be an issue.

I am being convinced by this and other forums that the SSV or LSV is the way to go over the Plenty (uses too much, all or nothing hits, less versatlie also having trouble finding how to use a waterpipe with it) or Cloud PLUS (huge breakdown concerns, expensive) but if I can't hook up to a waterpipe (very important for me) then i may have to get 1 of these instead.
I really need an australian poster (@Frederick is hopefully gonna have a look for me) to help me out. I don't have a credit card so not sure how I would order from overseas.
It's getting frustrating - I've quit smoking and I just wanna get vaping ASAP! I could just order the Cloud PLUS but if it broke down I'd be pretty P!@#$ED!

Not with the lsv, but with the ssv I'm sure you could rig something to your bong directly with just the tubing. Maybe you could explore adapters/downstems on ebay but it's not necessary to get started.

Edit: with the lsv you may find that you like the long wand even without water, I know I do.

I am really tempted to get an LSV with all the great reviews. I have a few questions:

Best method of getting the LSV in Canada (in terms of price)? Would the cheapest method be the official website (they seem to have reasonable flat shipping, however I have no idea if I would get dinged by taxes or duties that would ruin it) or from a head shop. I live in the Toronto area if that counts.

I know I need a 19mm Water Pipe adapter, however what is the difference between the Short and the Long in terms of performance and everything else?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated. :)

If you don't mind waiting a little for it to ship, the LSV is up on massdrop for $140 right now (if 30 people commit to buying it in the next 5 days). That's what made me really interested, because I already have a Solo and Indica (plan on ordering a Grasshopper when i can), but if I can get an LSV as my first plugin for 140? I don't know if I can pass that up...

Regarding water pipe adapters, I've read that eBay is a good source, but I'm not entirely sure how you need to set it up with screens to load the herb, but surely this
http://ebay.com/itm/111328123012
or this
http://.ebay.com/itm/111335483535
would work as cheap WPAs for the LSV right? Has anybody used these? What kind of screens would you use to be able to pack a bowl with them? Something like a cloud evo basket?

Also you can do ebay/paypal with just a bank account, no credit card required (I think).

i posted this in another thread a while ago about 18mm male male adapters for the lsv -
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/asking-for-advice-on-a-good-desktop-vape.13587/page-2#post-577239

thought i'd paste it into this thread as well........

the 18mm male male adapter i use the ELB slides right in snug like the top of the evo. BUT... i have a few other 18mm male/male adapters where the ELB is too large to slide in. they were made w/slightly thicker glass. you kind of have to find an adapter that will fit it right.

another option w/the adapters is to use an arizer dome screen to cap one end and a rolled basket screen in the middle.

RKvlczM.jpg

in the pic above, on the left is an adapter that the elb doesnt fit. the glass is a bit too thick. on the right is one where it does fit. the bottom opening on the right you can see the ELB slide in and out. on the top on the right is the arizer dome screen and rolled screen in the middle. obviously you'd only use the ELB or the dome screen/rolled screen combo, not both. they're both shown here for illustration purposes. (note: i have a mini elb cap in the dome screen on the top right if you're wondering about the double cap - its for small loads but i dont use it often)

Ah, thanks man! So I guess it might just be a total crap shoot then if an ELB will work with one of those two 18-14mm adapters... Hmmm. How does the rolled screen in the middle work? If its rolled isnt it then just a straw with no filter anymore? Would it not be possible to use two formed screens like these http://underdogvapes.com/vape-stems/formed-screens as @llamaman001 suggested? Just cram one into the middle of the stem and use the other as a cap? Is there a cheaper place to find these (dono if underdog would do free shipping for just screens, would Arizer? Don't see any formed ones on Amazon).

Or could I just use a regular circle screen and force it to dome as i shove it in (or dome it on a sharpie like the Solo trick?). I also have a few big square screens that came with my Indica (and are not needed for it), so maybe I could cram those in somehow or cut them down to fit? Is it basically fine in any way, as long as it can sandwich the herb between the stem?

Kinda wish there was some kind of little glass chamber or something with filter-holes on each end that could fit in there and hold the herb in the stem (oreven better would be if these WPAs on eBay just had a glass screen in the stem like a Solo gong). I like the idea of using ELBs (how much do a pack of those go for with shipping?) since its more like packing a bowl then sandwiching herb between two screen in the stem, but if they might not fit in the stem I don't know if I want to spend money on the risk

I am definitely going to buying this vape but i'm just not sure what to settle on when it comes to the wpa....is it easier to just get the Shorty version from 7th floor? Or it is more efficient using the male to male adapters?

Male to male adapters are efficient for the size that they are, and that the can be carried in pocket with herb already inside.
You will have only direct aiming draw, with no ability to point the heat.
That should not matter very much at all.
It is VERY slightly less convenient to stick the male end in and out of water piece, than it is to just approach the wpa with the LSV
The WPA allows complete and sealed aiming of heat, and rotation of paired device with wpa.
With wpa, however, the top section of LSV is removed to allow you better acces to spherical action of HC.
With male to male the removal is not required.

Male to male allows you to use same piece for wet or dry hits.
WPA would be uncomfortable to attempt this with.

The shorty wpa in my thinking is more efficient and easier to control with use than the longer one.

If I had only one choice for one piece of glass to go with my LSV, I would go for the male to male and use it for water if I felt need for water.
I think your LSV will come with a regular transfer wand so you will be good there.
Hope I did not just confuse things for you.

my preferred way is to use the 18mm male male adapter w/an ELB. its quick and cleanup is a breeze. its also closer to the heater and the load size can be smaller if you like.

the short wpa also works well. i find it takes a bit more bud than the ELB to load so i usually go with the ELB. also, w/the wpa you have to invert the lsv, so you would need the male male adapter if you wanted to use a water tool on top.

i have the underdog formed screens and they dont fit in the male male adapter. an arizer domed screen should work as a cap on the end if you wanted to go that route. the rolled screen/domed screen setup w/adapter i got from epicvape when he carried it. he no longer carries these adapters so unfortunately i cant provide a link to one that i know would fit. i have about 3 or 4 different male male 18mm adapters and 2 dont fit, 1 fits barely, and 1 fits perfect.

maybe someone can chime in with a link to an adapter that they know would fit an ELB? or use my pic above as reference since it is shaped quite different from the other adapter (shorter, wider.)

Interesting...and no vitolo you didnt confuse me at all. In all honestly I welcome responses by the hall of fame FCers so I appreciate it. I think to begin with Im going to go with the standard WPA adapter, just so I dont have to mess around with screens, elbs and all that mess. This is the only wpa I could find on ebay but it looks to be the LONG wpa and not the shorty...can anyone confirm this?

Yeah I dono how I really feel about dealing with screens bc I don't like using them in my Solo, but $25 seems a bit steep for the adapter (I think its 20 on the massdrop, but probably is the standard?), maybe vapornation has a discount code that can be applied?

It seems even if I get the $10 eBay adapter, and even if knew an ELB would fit, it looks like a set of 4 ELBs (only need one really but thats how they come) from vapexhale costs a whopping $25 just by itself (with shipping) so that's a pricey WPA too (and if they don't fit even worse...). Has anyone tried just shoving a little bit bigger screen close to the center in a male-male stem to get it to stay and then doing the same with a screen at the 18mm opening to sandwich the herb from falling through?

I just went ahead and bought the official adapter off the 7th floor site...I hope they ship fast because my Life saber is scheduled to be here friday!

Its going to be really nice to have a sort of dedicated water plug in unit again since I sold my EVO. My only other desktop is the underdog and I like using that for dry hits.

All I need now is a cheap $100 < bubbler thats NOT from dhgate. Im really considering the magic flight orbiter but they do no accept paypal.....if anyone wants to help me out there that would be AWESOME!

Not looking so great, 26 more orders needed by tomorrow :(.
Nope, only 19 needed, four have bought it for even the 160, while 7 others have committed to buy at 140. If anyone wants it at 140, you can commit to buy at 140 and you will only pay when 19 more commit to buy at 140 as well. That's how massdrop works, on commitments, not necessarily purchases

Gotcha, thanks. looking to add a plugin vape in addition to my TV evo. looks like it would fit the bill nicely.

Man it's REALLY hard to just walk into a shop and buy a bong these days. They made it illegal here in Victoria (and Queensland I think) some MAY do under the counter stuff but like I said it's hard and the range is limited. There was a huge rush of people buying bongs before the laws came in.

I feel you man. Victoria here too, in Geelong. They have got away with it by calling them 'oil pourers' and sticking a cork in the mouthpiece and adding a strange metal hole on the stem (which is easily removed and turned back into a bong) but the prices have gone up for shitty pieces due to it being risky to sell them, and there are laws that restrict the importing of bongs I believe. I don't have to worry much about that because the only thing I will ever order are just vaporiser bubblers that do not allow for the insertion of a cone-piece, so they are not designed for the smoking of weed and therefor cannot be illegal; but the whole thing is stupid. Australia needs to lighten the fuck up, allow R18+ video games, sell bongs and stop being so prissy.
