Hey guys,
I'm going to buy a PVHE GonG from Planetvape and was wondering : is there any discount currently running on that website (other than the one for the whole Solo package) ?

Also I noticed a german website is selling GonG for the Solo. Has anyone tried theirs (pic below) ?

But can I use it on idle!!?? :)
It is one idle light imho, it's on no matter what my solo is doing. So why even have it ?

I guess I tend to think of it more like 'standby'? It doesn't take much power, and will time out unless plugged in.

Anyway, it's the seven multi use yellow LEDs that count. As long as you have at least on showing on power up, you have enough battery for a session. If you power up and get no yellow level LEDs, only the Idle one, you can run one more session before charging. Don't cheat. Only one (or part of one). Normally you'll get a couple from the top step (depending on how much of the final charge you take), with roughly 'a step a session' from there down. So 8 is a good number for a charge.

For my last session, I pinched off a tiny part of a whole bud. It did a fantastic job! I think I prefer setting number 4 too. :)

Yup, buds are fun. But I found sometimes the outside is getting crisp while the inside is still fairly untouched. Sometimes I pull them out and break them up part way through. I like step 4 as well, but sometimes 'crank it up', especially with a WT.

Yes you can .
What you don't want , is to see the Red Charge light flash .
Which will flash a few times , then it will stay solid .
And the temp lights will do a Free Fall . It could be a fail safe
prevention in the Newer Solo , but still not recommended . jmo

I've also noticed that it takes 2 sessions , before the temp light drops one level . But when I inhale hard , the temp light will go down 2 , and bounce back . Maybe the temp sensor is more
accurate too .

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase an Arizer Solo. I came across a seller on Rakuten that's selling it for a pretty good deal, so I am curious to know if anyone has purchased from them before.

Seller: VapoBuy

They have two different versions of the Arizer Solo at different prices. I'm not sure what the differences are.

If anyone can help me out, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

RAKUTEN works with 3rd party sellers so those are two different companies who have two different prices, should've same product. Again, I advise buying with puffitup as they price match eBay for ~$130 and have exceptional customer service.

Looking to upgrade to the Arizer Solo from MFLB, would it be a worthy upgrade?

I'm looking for cloud vapour, larger chamber, better portability (fewer components to carry), and can share among several friends (tough to do with a MFLB).
Those are most of the reasons I got my Solo. It was definitely worth it for me on all counts. As long as size doesn't impact portability in your mind, then in my experience, you'll achieve all of those with a Solo.

Actually it's the same seller listing the Arizer Solo at two different prices, but thanks for the heads up about puffitup.

Oh, what? Puffitup price matches eBay? Goddamnit, I wish I knew that last week when I bought mine for $160...it's not advertised anywhere on their website that I saw. :(

Something I have noticed with my new Solo, which is the new M1T08: the stems are really loose. I've read about the evolution of the stems from crazy loose to crazy hard to get in on first use and so on, but this one has been loose from the get go. The elbow stem in particular would definitely fall out if I turned it upside down. Yet the unit still came with the bit of paper warning that the stems might be tight on first use. Anyone else had this experience?

Yep stems all vary with their tightness. It's supposed to be a feature that increases airflow but if you find it annoying, grab a high temp o ring size 113 and place it on the stem by unscrewing the top of the solo with the stem inserted. google arizer solo o ring and you can probably find better tutorial

I got a new m1t aswell and it works like a champ. My stems and gongs aren't loose and I don't use oring. On my older m1d which got replaced for faulty battery, the stems were looser because I tried my cherry wooden stem with stainless steel bowl. That will loosen up your solo and make it run extremely hot. I put the wooden stem aside for now, f bomb and gong all the way.

I've seen stems that range from extremely loose to a stem that was so wide it would not fit through the hole in the cap. That wide stem came with a brand new Solo a friend bought a month ago and she asked me if it was supposed to be that tight. I saw that it wasn't passing through the cap so I grabbed my old Solo and it wouldn't fit through that cap either. I told her to call Randy at PIU and as usual, he replaced it pronto. I've had loose stems from day 1 but it takes two hands to handle a whopper so I simply use both hands and it's never been an issue with me. Order a couple extra stems and you'll probably get one that fits a little tighter.

I still love my old 2 hole stems, I wish they were still available.

I'm sorry you're disappointed you didn't know, but I don't think it's realistic to expect PIU to advertise that on the web page do you really? Isn't that inviting everyone to pay less by looking for the cheapest price posted on the web? Right now there's a scammer on EBay using a legitimate Dealer's graphics to offer them for under $50 each from Hong Kong, I'm sure Randy doesn't want to try to explain that to even more 'sharp buyers'?

Yes, there is indeed a lot of differences in stems. Larger and smaller is common, sometimes out of round. As has been said the maker does not consider this a problem. They are designed to 'break in' and loosen up more over time, they fully expect the stem to fall out if you turn it over. And have said so numerous times. Which is why, of course, so many of us use the rings (which must be cautiously installed). Arizer doesn't supply the ring on purpose I believe. PV does for reasons that suit them and their policies.

I suggest you first try using as designed and built. Give it an honest chance, despite your expectations. I think, like most of us, you'll come to appreciate it. Then, when you understand how it's intended to work, you can research and decide if you want to experiment with a 113 ring. Or PVHESs. Or GonGs........

Good luck with it, given a chance I think you'll be pleased.

Yup. You get what you pay for literally in this case. PIU FTW!

Good point, but in this case PIU provides a lot of extra benefits in addition to good prices. For instance excellent service and extras (I just got a nice 4 piece grinder with velvet bag and a couple dozen screens 'thrown in' with mine. Even more useful than the free chips from PV....which are also cool.

And I'm still amazed that Randy confirmed my order in an hour, shipped it out that day and it showed up at my house 25 hours after ordering to the minute, about 80 miles only, but it was the PO. And shipping was free.

All things considered I feel good about giving my money to Dealers like PIU, we need more supportive outfits offering us more choices.

Oh, no, of course not. And PIU's service was fantastic; I definitely wouldn't have gone anywhere else, and frankly that good service and peace of mind is worth more than $30. It's just one of those situations where you can't help but kick yourself for not thinking of it!

I'm not particularly bothered by the looseness of the stems, it was just a bit of a surprise after reading so much about how tight they are and having to break them in, etc., etc. I really just wanted to check that what I was seeing was normal. If it is, then good! I'm going to give it a decent month or more before I consider fiddling around with O-rings, I think. As you say, you need that time to become accustomed to the device. I definitely wasn't complaining: even a noob like me can tell when something is quality!

Has anyone tried using a powerbank to charge the arizer solo?

Standard ones don't work, but you can buy 3 and put them in series for 15 Volts and have it work (at least it did for me).

However, 3 18650s in series will do a bang up job:

That's the original (made for Purple Days in fact), the current version has a shorter cord and lives in the side pocket of my 'traveling Solo bag':

You have to be able to solder to build one, of course, but it's easy and you can always get someone to do it for you I guess.
