And is true, "some" "really expensive glass" "sometimes" is "overpriced".
Notice I'm quoting my words.
And "some really expensive glass" is not for everybody, it's for people with the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to buy it.
If you don't have the $$$$$$$$$$ to have those, you don't need to call others that have it names.
I'm telling you this story because I used to think like you guys, but this forum helped me to rearrange my way of thinking and learn and keep learning a lot.
So, do your research. Try to learn to blow some HQ or heady glass and make a living, and then come back and told me your experiences.

I've owned A LOT of glass over the past 10 years: dirt-cheap, high-end, and everything in between. As long as the glass is durable, functional, and easy to keep clean, I can fully enjoy the cannabis, and (no matter what my GAS tells me) that's gotta be priority #1.

The online glass market has changed so much since I first got into it and (for me personally) it's REALLY nice to have options like dhgate with such reasonable prices. I can remember spending WAY MORE on thin, fragile scientific pieces. I love that I can invest a minimal amount of money and get multiple pieces with the qualities I look for. It's nice not having to worry about how much money I have tied up in glass or how much I can resell a piece for once I get tired of it. These pieces are cheap enough that I can give em away if I'm so inclined.

Anyway, dhgate pieces may not be for everyone, but I think they're great. If you've got the budget and want a super clean piece, PLEASE support individual artists, but if your priorities are similar to mine go ahead and indulge in a few of these pieces.

For the record:
I'm a newbie glass person.
Just a student learning along my merry way.
I design stuff all the time.
Right now I'm only learning what I like and dislike in a glass piece.
To experient these $30 pieces including shipping are perfect for this purpose. To have a HEADY PIECE and spend 1,000's of $'s I will at some point.

@mvapes @PhotoRider are 2 people I look up to and know they are light years ahead of me.
@Frederick McGuire is the one who also had a big influence on me personally. I never liked glass before. Maybe because in the 70's when BONG's and BOB MARLEY were popular I never could use a bong? So I just kept rolling joints. Bob Marley I could handle.

For now I use this cheap glass as I learn.
When I have my dream piece design finished I will have a US Glass Artist make it.
$2000 for a piece of glass!
This will be an art piece.
My motive has been made transparent as we say in SOUTH AMERICA.

Just enjoy CANNABIS!
So please don't hate!

Yeah, this is what I was afraid of. Not the turbine issue, but mating it with the LOTUS. An extender will make the LOTUS head too high for good viewing.

So, it is looking like the 20-T may well be the guy. Of course, a successful delivery of the colored HC version from Kathy had to enter the mix...

But safe matters. Where is that 20-T vid we are waiting for... :)

EDIT:I have been corrected that this is NOT the 187 Ratchett was talking about, so we still need to hear about whether the 187 pairs OK with the LOTUS...

Come on folks, there are lots of you with 20-Ts out there. We haven't heard from @Stu either. Where are those Vids? ;) ;)

Looking back in the thread I see that @Stu got the 187, not the 20-T, but Vid on that is just as anxiously anticipated... :)

What IS the device at the bottom of the 20-T? They call it a Honey Comb on dhgate, but is it still a HC if it is only around the periphery instead of across the whole surface?

Anyway, these independent glass artists don't have to use worked glass you know. That colored stuff is more expensive/harder to use, so it would actually cost much less to get a clear , scientific style piece made.

Take these recyclers made by Cory GLASS Designs for example:

$150 USD and they are made to order. Sure price can go up if you want to add color and what not, but the function will be the same (amazing).

I checked out Corey Glass, and to be honest I thought it would be an insane struggle trying to contact him. His instagram was through the roof with people seeking pipes. Do you think i'd even have a chance at getting one in the next month or two?

Also would a bong like that be suitable for attaching to a vape or is it a bit overkill?

Thanks Zango. I'm definitely trying to find that balance where I end up with a wonderful piece, but also don't break my wallet. A lot of variety out there.

This works really well.
The D020 is perfect for DABing or the SOLO
The D020-T is perfect for the LOTUS.
I beleive it's because the position of the LOTUS is a better fit on the D020-T.
I vaped a weird mix of JC OG + YODA + BLUE DREAM + GOLD DUST KIEF and the flavor and effect extremely medicating!
The LOTUS taste really good!

  • Best way to contact Cory is via email or KIK messenger (it's an instant messaging app for phones and tablets).
  • A few (3 or 4) FC members have already had their pieces ordered and (IIRC) shipped from Cory. Based off theor orders, it doesn't take him more than a few days to make one once he starts.
  • IMO a recycler like that (with the female joint) is perfect for vaping. It offers minimal diffusion with maximum water conditioning. That's ideal for vaping as well as oil.
