Discontinued Sublimator XLR

I am making the move to replace the sublimator tube kit with a water tube. I am going to go for a 45degree EHLE tube. EHLE says the joint size is 18.8mm. Am I correct in assuming I need the 18mm teflon adaptor? Is there anything else I need to consider getting? Any advice on how to keep everything in working order with a glass set-up?
Also am I understanding correctly that the atomizer has been changed to be shorter? How much shorter is it now? And is the shorter version better/safer for using with glass? Has anyone just cut their atomizer to the new better length?

Thanks for the help!

That does look kinda cool. Does the TI Apollo heat up quicker than the SS version? I find mine needs to be on for 20 minutes or so to get a really good rip.

Okay I want to buy the stainless steel base and all that... with the glass.. but what I do not understand.. is what to pick.. there are so many options and I don't understand them..

What is a ring tier?
What is choke tier, 45mm tier, and Titan tier.. I can't find information on what they are... I am sitting with these in my wishlist until I can figure it all out..

PV.. please hook up the info.. (or anybody)

IIIQBIII,
I got a fatboy base at home, if you want to use the fatboy base with the (plastic)tube the LE Edition comes with or with the fantastic glass tube offered by PV, then you additional to the fatboy base will need the titan tier (comes with a choke), if you want to use your favourite 45mm joint glass device, you will need the 45mm tier, and if you want to use a choke with the 45mm joint glass device, you will need the 45mm tier and a choke tier.

It's too bad that the ss tube cap kit is out of stock. I need that in order to buy the fatboy base and glass tube otherwise no point in buying the base at all.

Hi, you should contact Planet vape, i was able to order a stainless steel cap with a high temp high quality silicon whip with the fatboy base , although the SS cap was listed as "Not in stock"

Just ordered titanium xlr dabmaster. Really excited for when it comes in the mail and will write a review. Am really interested to see how it compares to ripping bong and hitting my solo through a bong. I have had an extremely high tolerance lately, smoking over 7 grams most days. Smoking has become more of a chore so I am excited to see if it will get me back to the level I want to be at or if its time for a serious tolerance break lol.

wow smoking 7 grams a day is very very much. I think you know that.

Please try to vape 7 grams by 0.1g pinches so 70 loads through sublimator and tell us how it was and how long you made it.

Well speaking about tolerance, have you ever seen a rocket? heavy vapes make it rocket tolerance through the signature wall (which is the point you need to increase the size of load to feel the same effects).

At first honney moon when you cannot stop kissing each other and live a vape dream. Then you realize 10 days passed and then the level of overmedication you are to switch to another vape.

Whenn the cash will be avaible for you @neogitus , try another vape like e-nano, lotus , hammer and report back too.

While waiting for Vapodudule's concentrate update, can someone with experience speak to the Sub's functionality using either the Dab-Master or E-Nail attachment? I no longer have access to buds, only to concentrates. Fortunately I learned about my bud situation before placing my order. Now I need to order one of the two concentrate attachments. Any thoughts anyone? Thanksrdudule's review of concentrates in the Sublimator,

Hey guys I am going to upgrade my 1.0 to xlr 2.0, few questions A)Is titanium worth the upgrade? Significant reduction in heat up/cool down time? Finally is the dabmaster best of both worlds or get a Titanium enail / apollo combo?

Hi Guys,

I have been studying the configurations, and I would like some users to give some opinions on the following:
1) The 3 inch chamber vs. 12 inch chamber, does it make much of a difference? The 3 inch model just seems a lot more portable.
2) What is the difference with titanium heaters? Do they perform differently? They cost quite a bit more.
3) Steel base vs. aluminum base. Does it make a difference?

Hi, IMO:

1) it is sublimate and scrape ability in game here but you can cut the 12 inch like i did. same portability, come one, a big pile of metal 3 or 12.

2) titanium have a higher temperature characteristic (Cp for thermodynamics) as SS. The inertia in temperature changes is increased with Ti, heats fast, higher, but colds fast too, for prone to take on meteo condition around your units which is very important

3)Aluminum is not food grade material at high temperature (cook pot) but is used majorly in food industry as soon as there is an inerted surface. ALuminum is toxical for body unlike Iron. steel is food grade even at high temp.

You don't want to scrape the plastic tube, trust me on this it gets scratched easily. But using a bit of cotton/hemp fiber with iso cleans the tube nicely and gives you something to vape

1. The larger the chamber the cooler the vapor. I have the short chamber and I'm happy with it.

3. The steel base is a lot heavier and provides a low, stable center of gravity.

Anyone here also have an Evo? I really want to make a move to ths guy, Id just like to know if its worth it if you already have an Evo.

While they both hit very big and taste great, I would say that the sub hits a bit harder, while the evo tastes a little better. The differences are subtle. I've only used the flower 1.0 sub and have not tried a vapexnail. And I should qualify this by saying that nothing hits bigger than the sub (tied with infinity), and the evo is the taste champion. This is just opinion based on experience, could be different for somebody else.

Does it take a standard 18mm female water tube like the Evo? Maybe my buddy's Recyclo-Tube would be a good match for this guy. Im really considering ordering one.

Take a look at this great review http://www.vaporreviewblog.com/sublimator-review-incredible-power-price
It has very nicely done photos and descriptions of how all the parts / options work together. Sub would be very difficult if even possible to use with a hydratube. Bit of a shortage on Subs currently, factory can't keep up with orders.

Update on my sub after a few months of owning it (xlr titanium dabmaster):

-It's still ripping like a champ, I often leave it on all day if I am at home and it has no troubles keeping up with the speed that I or any of my friends load bowls.

-There is nowhere I can really buy the actual "sublimator screens" except for online, which is doable but 1 dollar for a screen that will only last me a few days isn't really worth it to me (don't clean well in iso, not worth the effort IMO, especially with kief). I have started using regular pipe screens and shoving them in, and other than having to slightly tweak with the temperature ranges, it seems to work as effective, and I can buy 5 screens for 2 dollars each, and they don't fall out every hit I take.

-It is very easy to clean, but my atomizer has stuck together many, many times and it is extremely difficult to unscrew and at the point being I'm pretty sure my 2 parts are stuck together for good, since I didn't clean mine for a few days. I have tried knocking it and un screwing it super hard (worked in the past) but it doesn't work anymore. There is only so hard i am willing to smash a 200 dollar piece of metal to try to dislodge burnt on carbon. Its harder to clean with the 2 pieces together but still less of a headache than a bong. I just use the tool that came with it and scratch along the edges to get the hard gunk off and it looks like new every time.

-Another thing I have noticed that is kind of annoying is that in both the bongs I use to sub through, the atomizer/heat injector slightly lean towards the direction the cord is pointing. I don't know if this was part of the design but I don't really like the feeling of movement on my bowl especially when it's piping hot. I would think that something so heavy should be supported better especially that I have the short newer atomizer, my bowl rocks back and forth when it should be solid and not move.

-When it comes to the sublimate, I have experimented with it and it is pretty decent. The way my bong is set up, there is a dark, almost red oil that drips down from the atomizer and into the bong stem. This stuff has little to no taste aside from the hashy taste, but is otherwise pretty potent for a free product. There's another oil that builds up in my bong water after awhile that is blonde/light brown in colour. I think it builds up from the actual vapour being in the bong rather than slowly dripping down from my atomizer and is less exposed to prolonged heat. This oil is stronger and tastes like the bud that you were smoking, not as tasty as bho but just about, which is pretty great.

-I think someone should make a case for the sublimator, for people who want to travel with it. Since I got mine, when I travel to friends houses that have dirty crappy bongs, I usually bring my sub with me, but when you are having a good session and have the head right out the door, you cant just throw the sub in a bag and go it would melt through your bag. Would be a good idea to have a durable case that can withstand the heat of the injector/atomizer at full heat/somewhat insulate it, so you can just pack up your sub in 20 mins and leave, instead of waiting an hour for it cool down (or throwing it freezer like i do LOL)

I also made some pain relief avb cream with the sub avb that seems to work very well. It is with coconut oil, I threw like 13 or so ounces of avb into 3.75L (estimate) coconut oil and simmer in a crock pot for a long time, strain and put a small amount on affected area. I have given it to people who don't even smoke and they said it works. Love how the sublimator doesn't really waste anything. useful avb, free medium quality oil with no solvents and great multi purpose smoking device. How long is lasts will be the deciding factor whether it is worth the price or not, but so far so good.

If I think of other things I will come back and edit this post, Ideas welcome

Hey guys, long time reader first time poster, had my sublimator xlr 2.0 stainless steel apollo since jan and love it. Use it every day. Only thing thats annoying is the 1 hour shut off timer, but for dabs its awesome, and has the added bonus that i can do flowers in it and extract all the deliciousness :)

@neogitus, the 1 dollar screens that you're referring to which i believe are the ones with the metal heat sync are good, but PV also has/sells the screen without the metal casing which can be pushed down about 1-2mm in the atomizer and it stays lodged in, doesn't fall out every time you tap out your spent flowers :)

I am really tempted by the sublimator in a lot of ways. I dab slightly more than I vape flowers, but at the moment, this is because it is not particularly convenient for me to vape flowers due to my having broken my e-nano :( .

I have been looking at the Sub xlr 2.0 adapt a dabmaster kit. I have noticed Australian Vaporizers sell them, so I can get one quickly when the time/money comes.

I want to know a few things though:

Will this fit both of my rigs well? I assume this will work well with my 18mm female jointed Luke Wilson 15 arm tree perc piece. But will it fit my Ryu Wilson custom worked oil rig for when I want to dab? With a female to female adapter, this piece has 4.5 inches from the top of female gong joint down to the bottom of the tube. Is this enough height to adapt the sub?

It seems like the titanium is worth the spend for quicker heat up/cooldown. Is taste much better on ti models vs SS though?

Also, is the dabmaster the best option for me?

I generally dab only particularly high end shatter, either nice clear first run pull n snap shatter, or winterized absolutes.

I also tend only to deal with high end flowers. On that note though, what is flavour like here? Is there any other vape that delivers better flavour (aside from Cloud Evo, which is not an option for Aussies due to the infamous power divide)? I am also given to understand that this thing gives the biggest hits from flowers of any plug-in vape? Is this an accurate observation?

Can I get all of the good stuff out of my herb in one single hit without having to work too hard to inhale it out? I don't have to stir the bowl or anything do I? My priority is to be able to load a bowl quickly, and get the goods out of it in one single delicious big hit with minimal lungwork to produce vapor (ie: no huge draw resistance).

Cheers in advance for answering my 20 questions! I really wanna do my homework here as this setup will cost me $700 AUD lol

Oh, one more thing:

I wanna use this with my own pieces, I do not want to buy the sublimator base/glass. Does the heat conducted from the heater to the atomizer and metal stem beneath it heat up your glass at all? Could it break your glass? I really don't wanna jeopardize either of my pieces lol.

Haha. Good set of questions Herbivore. Looking forward to awnser ' s as I see myself also intrested but never had the spare money so far. :)
Cheers, it seems like the only realistic high end vape option for people on my side of the pond.

I really want this to be the vape which has me vaping buds again, rather than combusting them which is just not doing me many favours. ;)

Also is the 1 hour timer still a thing? If so, has anyone managed to take the relevant electronics out of the circuit on the presumably present pcb in the dimmer box (I assume this is a variable resistor dimmer or something similar in the monkey control - please correct me if I'm wrong)? I know already I will probably want to use this vape non-stop all day. I don't wanna have to attempt to remember to turn it on again every hour lol that shit is for stoners with personal assistants.
