Can anyone tell me if the seller vapesandparts from eBay is an authorized seller for Solo? They claim they are, but I want to be sure before buying. I hear some new units can have issues after a few months. Trying to play it safe.

Thanks!

You can contact Kevin here and ask him yourself .
But keep in mind , it is a Long weekend up here in Canada .

@Vicki
I would use the Pa for the 1st hour in the morning , therefore
conserving as much Portable battery power for the rest of
the work day , away from a power source . You made a good
choice in getting the PA .

Enjoy your New Solo .

Ariser is sending me a replacement solo! I'm kind of worried about these new models, but they're customer service has been amazing. Now that I have a nano, I'm debating whether to sell the new solo or keep it. Tough decision. I want something more portable since i'll be using it exclusively outside, but the solo is a beast. Anyone here have/had a pax before the solo and just put away the pax for good?

You could buy a wooden stem to make your unit more portable. Unless you just want a smaller vape.

IMO the Pax is a bit harsh like the Pinnacle Pro with the original mouthpiece. I didn't own a Pax I tried one out from a friend. I had it for the day but I only did one session with it. He tried my Ascent and I tried his Pax. He had the better trade, the Ascent is a great vaporizer. Just my 2 cents worth.

The Solo's quality and taste is sooooo much better, others may feel differently.

Cawshook, just keep it, use it as much as you can, be happy and stop worrying. Your replacement Solo either works or it doesn't work. If I was a betting man I'd bet your new replacement Solo will work just fine. The odds are in your favor.
I've been using my "Hamster Special M104" since October 2011 and have had absolutely ZERO issues with it. Ever.

Don't worry, be happy!

OK, first off and new/old difference I don't think has been reported: The beeps on the new model are shorter? Anyone confirm/deny that? TIA

After having charging stall out (charge light went out, current dropped almost to zero) on my PA, I switched to the normal charging dock and it took off charging again. Current about 200 mA and falling until the charget light finally went solid (and it dropped to 9 mA, I assume for the LEDs?).

It's getting a couple step 7 burn offs, then I guess I open it up and poke around some.

I also noticed the bowl has a different finish (or lack of one?) and while well finished has tool and fine polish marks, perhaps as a result of the larger holes??

More when I know more.

Its not that. I'm not worried about that because their customer service is great. I just can't carry the solo around with me all day. Its too big to fit in my jeans pocket.

CarolKing, looks like the PNP off yoyokid is an option as well. I don't want to derail the thread any longer so i'll just post in the designated thread.

Gentlemen (and Ladies of course) I think we may have something exciting by the tail here. Vicki hang onto that PA. I'm getting the feeling that a very useful 'invention' (a careful tune on the PA regulator Pipes and Tim sold) might come out of this. I could remove the danger of 'leaving it plugged in all the time' by automatically stalling charging at a high (but safe) level.

Sort of an 'old style PA becomes a new style smart charger'???

Is this a great Forum or what?

Something else to test out when my new Solo is fully charged........

Regards to all.

EDIT fuck hongkong
As an ebay power seller since 1998, I would not bid on that auction.
I see you already changed you mind.
I also noticed that the artwork was "highjacked" from myrubberneck who actually is a reputable seller ebay seller. I know-they honored the warranty after almost a year and sent a replacement. Multiple red flags go up:Hong Kong(out of US),zero feedback, borrowed artwork, wrong description.
Save your money people.
SCAM!!!!!
Probably the same jokers who did this on ebay a couple of weeks ago.

The problem with me is, I have never heard that beep. My wife has to tell me when it is on.
Not too stealthy when you don't know it's on .

Gentle Friends,

A few 'first reactions' and thoughts. First, the oven is different. It's now soldered in. The PCB with the cable connector is gone, but the bosses remain to mount it (same over part, different assembly). The leads are now Teflon insulated all the way to the main PCB.

It does seem to heat faster, but uses the same power over all so 'something's not right there' yet. Perhaps tapping into the temperature sensor will tell something? Based on cold current draw the heater is also less powerful, meaning it should heat slower..... Down by maybe 25%? More to look into.

The heating is handled much differently I think. For openers when the light goes out again, the heater isn't off as in the original, it drops in current from 1.39 Amps down to about .60 Amps. Heat is being delivered even though the step lights and 'heat' LED don't indicate it. This links with the different power heater I think in that now part of the heat for each cycle can come from the 'off' time (they just don't indicate it). This explains the erratic nature of the heat LED I think. It says off much longer than the old style at the same setting and cycles on for shorter times, sometimes only flickering a bit (because part of the total is 'off the books').

To the main point, yes the battery is being 'worked'. Not as extremely as it might be (part of the reason for the partially on still heater off part) but the charger can only safely supply 1 Amp still so when the heater is off (by the indicator) the battery charges at about .30 Amps (basically what's left of the 1.0 Amps). Even though I'm running it on a 6 Amp source. When the heater kicks in the battery goes from charging to discharging to supply the 'missing' power, .52 Amps the other way.

And to confirm what has been said, without the battery it goes a little nuts trying to charge the battery that's not there, but eventually drops into 'pure PA mode' and runs completely on the old style PA.

I'm not sure what all this means yet, but now you know as much as me.

Do you need a o ring for the gong or is there 0 wobble now? cuz my stock stem slides out no resistance after being heated.
I think it depends on the unit and the glass with possible slight variations in fit, as well as the age of the Solo's seal. For the past month or so I've been running the bent stem and a pvhe gong pretty heavily, all stock with no added o-ring. It's stayed reasonably tight to date.

Is that the 14mm wong? If it is.. how much hotter is the vapor using that compared to using the regular glass stem. I know its meant for water attatchment but i would also like to use it dry sometimes too.

In the picture is a 3 inch shorty. It could be used to pair with water, but I only use this one dry. I don't find the vapor any hotter at all. Matter of fact, seems cool to me.
