The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Yes, I am aware of your test tube clamp, and I've even found an affordable one on Amazon. I think I like the heat shrink idea a bit better, but can always do the clamp if all else fails...

I don't use the F/F adapter like a cyclone bowl. I use it with the SSV wand and whip. I didn't like the adapter when used like a cyclone bowl. The SSV/silver surfer WAND is the KEY to making this a success. I feel like a broken record.:myday:

( I keep repeating myself because everyone wants to take short cuts and get the same results.)

So I did try all this glassware, although my results are at best preliminary because the herb I got was some autoflowering weak shit. I doubt it had 10% thc, what a joke. Ah the joy of prohibition! On top of that dealers here moist flowers with some kind of sugar ("brix) solution so it barely burns - even AVB!

Anyway, I tried f/f adapter elbow pack, wand style m/m adapter elbow pack and native wand hit. I placed screens inside f/f/ adapter and m/m adapter, I also used the elbow screen to keep herb from falling down. I found 240C not harsh at all(!), which got me thinking could it be the screens that block heat someway? Or maybe I should put another elbow cap on the other side of m/m adapter instead of placing a screen in the middle?

None of these settings seemed to produce more vapor then regular elbow pack, nor was herb more equally burned. When using m/m adapter ("wand") I found herb gets stuck to the screen in the middle, but that could be cause by poor herb quality.

Overall the hassle of using all this extra glassware is extreme. I can't touch anything because its hot. If I am to refill the 'wand' I have to 1)remove the adapter 2) remove (hot) elbow cap 3) use a stirrer to remove herb. Even if there was any performance improvement I probably would stay with f/f adapter elbow packs. Just for the sake of looks.

I will try again with some decent flowers when I get ahold of them. I have basicly one question: do excess amount of screens (in f/f adapter while wand packing) somehow contributes to _poor_ vapor quality?

BTW I also have ELBs, but those also get really hot and clog easily, I don't see how they can be better then regural bowl. On the other hand I have never had any issues with vapor quality using stock Arizer's glass pieces. If I pack just right, preheat all glass the results are very good, very far from coplaining. I have no idea what to do with ELBs but f/f and m/m adapters make for cool straight upward baloon station.

All the methods work, some better than others. The elbow pack and ELB's were the road to success! Here is where the road led me. It led me right past those methods and to the one that works best. The best results, for me, is the silver surfer wand and F/F adapter. You are trying the things we tried to get to the end result. Skip the road and go to the results of DDaves hard work and others. Get a ground glass wand and put that into the adapter. I loosely suck up enough herb that when I put the Q screen on the bottom of the wand there is a gap of air above the screen. This is what works for me. Your results will vary with temps and herb. It sounds like some users are speed reading through this discussion and missing some important stuff. I was guilty myself and probably wouldn't of spent 25 bucks on the ELB's. In hind sight the learning curve probably made me a more educated vaporist. So don't get frustrated just get the right stuff.

I have had no luck with this thing and it is getting annoying. I honestly bought it because of the number of posts in this thread, making it seem like a popular vape. But it seems that all those posts were trying to get this thing to work properly... I too have tried every adapter and wand and it is just a pain to get this thing working right, and a waste of money. At this point I have taken the EQ apart, minimizing it's size, and I am sort of using it like an e-nano. It sort of works better but still not great. I think it is time to just get something else.

Now that I know you went McGovern on it and you say wand but I don't see you say SSV wand I'll just say... good luck to you with your next vaporizer.

And I never watched the show. Let's not get petty. Did I spell that right? I don't use that word very often. I read your post and did see you say wand. I wanted to make sure we were using the exact same thing. When I see you remodeled your unit it takes that equation right out of the picture. That's what I was saying. You made me type a paragraph on my phone are you happy? :argh:

For the DDave mod you need 2 (two) things: an F/F adapter that will hold a screen, and a standard or hands free silver surfer wand. Thats it. You dont need to try every adapter and wand. This mod does work with the EQ as advertised. Good luck

I just ordered one of these for non-psychoactive plant/herb vaporising. Me and my partner will use it for remedial / aromatic purposes :) Does anyone use it for that purpose? I think it's going to bring some amazing experiences and relaxation to my life and it looks AMAZING. The blue light is going to match my whole computer setup and i've got 30+ different herbs/plants/seeds/roots in labeled jars ready to get vaped.

hey guys i got a couple of questions. :)

1) my ssv wand and ddave adapter arrived a few days ago , do i still need to wait like 20 mins or so from turning it on?

2) me and my girlfriend use the vape, is it better to fill the wand up for us both or have a go each with a bit of bud?, or does it not make a difference?

many thanks

1) let it warm up for 12-15 minutes for best results
2) i dont think you ever want to fill it up. For 2 people, half a wand should be more than enough for a nice session, going back and forth

Listen to @Newcastle, he has this down!!!!

Important point! DON'T OVERSTUFF THE WAND! Leave that gap! A fully stuffed wand doesn't work well at all!

TIP: When you check how full you're loading the wand, after whatever method you use to get your herbs in there, turn it upside down, so the mouth faces the ceiling. The inside of the wand itself near where the flat screen sits is much wider than the mouth where you put the Arizer Elbow screen. That is the way you can properly check the gap your leaving after loading herbs. It's accurate, as when you draw from your whip, the herb is pulled up into the larger portion of the wand and the true gap can be seen.

For the DDave mod you need 2 (two) things: an F/F adapter that will hold a screen, and a standard or hands free silver surfer wand. Thats it. You dont need to try every adapter and wand. This mod does work with the EQ as advertised. Good luck

Agreed! And hope all these reports of success will save others some time and $$$ in researching other methods/configurations. Don't get me wrong, experimenting is awesome! :science: But there are those who seek immediate success, and if you're one, don't overlook proven methods.

TIP: If you will solely use the SSV Wand to hold your herbs, there is no need for a DDave F/F adapter that can accomodate a screen. The wand is loaded away from your Arizer Tower and the double screened SSV Wand completely encloses your herb. There will be no fallout of the herb from the wand.

Thank you @DDave I had a great teacher. I agree with your tip but if you have ever snagged the EQ screen and pulled it off you will will wish it was there. I have said before I use a 1" screen that is loose. I don't worry about it because like you said it isn't used. It is just a security blanket for IF I dump a load in there. If I had an adapter and was waiting to get a screen I would go ahead and use it but be aware when you pull the wand out. You always want to be careful when it comes to pulling out!:o

It was all about quality, of course. Got some nice flowers and even f/f bowl is amazing. I have never filled my bubbler that quickly :leaf:

@Newcastle, Yes! Very true! I kept the screen in the middle of my F/F for just that purpose! Security blankets are a good thing!!!! Great Point!!!:nod:

In regards to Pulling Out: ;)

Anyone here have the DDave Setup (18mm to 18mm adapter + silver surfer wand) and also own a LSV? If so how does the LSV compare to the DDave Setup in terms of efficiency (conserving herbs) and effectiveness (nice dense clouds).

I currently have the EQ + DDave Setup and love it to death in terms of efficiency and the huge clouds I get from it but am considering getting an LSV as a more portable unit (because as of now, every time I have to travel with the EQ I need a whole backpack designated to my bubbler + the EQ :\).

@YetAnotherUsername Is that whip just the one that comes with the EQ? And then is that a custom adapter for connecting it to the bong? I want to eventually have the same setup but with a different bong I guess, but I know very little about the lingo of these products and all of the possibilities/options available.

Also how does smoking it compare to just hitting the vape with a whip or bag? Does the water filtration of the bong enhance the experience or complicate it?

Nice setup!

Hey, is that a film container for the herbs? That's something that comes from back in my day!!!! :myday:

.

Thanks Dave! Yup, it's a film container for AVB. I've got a litte jar for fresh herbs =) Not everyone has gone digital

It's a silicone whip, I got rid of the stock PVC the 1st day I got eq. I broke one elbow piece and I have a m/m adapter in the bong - elbows work better but they are kinda expensive. You can use it with a water pipe out of the box! About filtration. It takes away some flavor (good ones and burnt ones) but it makes huge hits very smooth. I don't have iron lungs for sure. A lot of people complain on efficiency. Mods aside, used with a bong EQ knocks me out in 2-3 hits.

hey guys, my adapter got dropped :(

anyone got a UK or EU seller? can order from US if not but prefer not to wait that long.

thanks

To the rescue! Write at unikatowebonga@gmail.com. Polish glass blowing company, makes the smallest adapater so far (pic on the previous page). Piece cost is 8$ + shipping.

Now something that got me excited about bags again, although pic is taken with a potato and whip is ofc too long. I have also managed to find a way to handle all this hot glass. The key is to 'twist out' instead of 'pulling out', saved me lots of hassle.
