Arizer Solo

In my experience, it definitely does extract as thoroughly and evenly, but now "they" are telling me that my HerbalAire may be defective, so the verdict is still out on that one from where I sit.

Since you own both, like I do now, can you answer a question for me? Do they both use the same size gong adapter? Please say yes.

I've been away for a while, catching up in my favorite thread!

Glass what's glass
My solo has some class
Wood is how I rock the solo
I have a tube with a few buds and a stem ready to go
Solo is all ways fully charged when I'm home
I only use the solo at home when someone is round then I will give them the solo to use
:) Thought you were going to author a new Solo Rap!!!! Nice start!!!

Is there a certain grind consistency that should not be used in the Solo? For example, I have some herb that I grinded in my MF Finishing grinder. I have used it in my HA with no problem, but I did add an additional screen to the crucible.
I use the MFLB Micro Grinder (with EQ and Solo vapes). Find grind works best for me...

Some is just gooder.....

Here is what I do for what it's worth?:2c::2c:
Dry Flower = Fine grind Loosely packed
Moist Flower = Course grind Loosely packed
Wet Flowers are not cured correctly anyway!

Play around and see what you like?
I'm just :whoa:!

I forgot to write I put whole flower nuggets when I just want to chase flavor. (kind of wasteful)
It's never a waste to chase the flavor!!!!!

I use a fine grind, cornmeal consistency loose pack. Usually i get 2 sessions to a bowl. I use the shorty PVHES stem with my older model Solo and use the stock stem with my newer model. Either way it's all good. You really can't go wrong with a Solo.

Also I have a wooden Granadillo by Ed, for on the go or yard work. Another black wood Wong trimmed in turquoise on the way, can't wait.:lmao:

Buy from Puffitup quick turn around time if you have to send it back and no cost for shipping.

Hmm... I don't think so. The Solo doesn't come with a way to put it on glass via GonG out of the box, you'll have to try and get one of PlanetVape's adapters or check out the JoDa glass thread, VapednConfused is making some gongs and glass stuff for vapes and will be starting to do some Solo GonGs hopefully soon. If you have one of those silicone ecig/Omicron tips, you can put that on the end of the stems and cut off the small restriction part at the end (to open airflow) and that will fit into a 14mm female.

I haven't used the HerbalAire but found that placing a small nug in the stem will vaporize it thoroughly. You won't get clouds like with a ground up stem but when I crumble my nugs they are dry and evenly colored throughout.

I just gave my Omicron to mvapes today, so that's not an option anymore. I'll figure out something. :)

I wonder if it would extract as thoroughly as an HA. I can't wait to get my Solo tomorrow. :)

By all means do. I managed to convince myself that the HA couldn't pull any more out after a max run in the Solo, but when not using water with it I often don't push that far. Even then 'the HA test' shows there's little left of value. For the most part it doesn't make it to the ABV jar (not enough left to worry about IMO), if I'm in the garden it gets recycled on the spot......

Using my solo with stock stem and a d020-d bubbler with a glass reducer. to get milky hits I have to crank the solo up to 7, the vapor isn't harsh at all tho with the water filtration. the hit size severely reduces after the first 2 hits though, from then on I can barely see any vapor in the chamber even though I'm pulling like my life depends on it. still got to a really nice level but I'm not sure I like it more than just using the solo naked.

This is somewhat dependent on the strain/batch, I've had a few strains that don't seem to produce much vapor (the Platinum strains [Platinum Bubba, Platinum Cookies, etc] and some Hazes) and others that just won't quit, even after a good 12 minute session. Not sure what your tech is, but I prefer dry herb to moist/fresh out the bag herb, medium to fine grind. Load my GonG and set it on my piece, turn my Solo on to preferred temperature, place on GonG, and let it heat soak for 15 seconds or so. Usually if I keep an eye on it, once it reaches temperature, I don't hit it until it goes through a "heat cycle" (when the heat light turns on for a bit). THEN I take a pull. First hit's tasty but not much for vapor, 2-5 seem to be where it's at. Also, vapor is thinner than smoke, so don't be surprised if it doesn't look like you just milked a cow into your glass ;) I've found myself surprised when shining my iPhone light right next to my glass, seeing how dense the vapor actually is compared to room lighting. I can get satisfying vapor production through glass as low as temp 3, but usually if I'm using glass it's because I want to cool and inhale a significant amount of vapor, so I'll maybe take a dry hit or two on 3, then go 4 for a hit, 5 for a few, 6, and then 7.

....... but does a wonderful job of medicating on 7. :smug:

I have been very happy with it.

And well you should be happy with it, IMO. It's pretty hard to put a negative "but...." on the end of "does a wonderful job of medicating" that doesn't involve fire or going to jail (or otherwise 'getting busted')......

I tend to look at it in terms of there's a limited amount of THC in the load, the faster you strip it out the sooner the party is over (and it's time to reload as needed). I tend to think you get more effect taking it in smaller doses, but understand there are results oriented guys who have other priorities.

Anyway, glad you're enjoying your Solo. Assuming it's working OK and you have at least fair quality bud to feed it it's hard not to I think?

What I look at with cannabis is not the strain name.
How was it grown?
Did it frost?
If it's not frosty there's not much medicine to vaporize.
I need to stop giving advise because I'm a CANNABIS snob.
It's a issue with the CANNABIS not the vaporizer.
Let's blame the vaporizer first?
What about the quality of the medicine?

Oh don't get me wrong, sure there wasn't much vapor to the Lemon Haze I got last time, but it sure as hell got me lit. I like @OF's reasoning, if it's 1 stem and it gets you where you want to be, vapor production shouldn't matter that much. Hell, you and I both know that you don't even need to see much vapor to get going. Low temp, little vapor, still gets you droopy-eyed ;) I only mentioned strain names to give a relative idea, I know that the cuts of GSC I get likely have a different phenotype than the ones you get. The places I go to are surprisingly consistent with their selections, sticking to growers that know what they're doing. I've mentioned it in the Stash thread, the J-1 I got when I first got my rec and the one I got a few weeks/month ago had the same flavor and effect.

I think the harshness depends on the weed. I find 7 is only harsh for certain strains that are also harsh when smoked.

Don't get me wrong I'm just ranting!

Some dispensaries are more expensive than others.
$120 1/2 oz will last 5 days.
$150 1/2 oz will last 10 days.

Jolly farms has good quality so I use them if I need to.
Jade LOTUS is the most expensive however the quality is up there as well.

Hello,

Yesterday I tried my solo for the first time. It functions very nice!
But, a question:
Does the solo also produce vapor when you're not inhaling?
I mean is it better to take all your draws in a short time or is it not a problem to wait a minute between draws and keep the unit on?

Regards

Yes, I believe it does, but only to a minor degree. Once the airflow stops the only part still being heated enough to produce is against the glass or at the mouth (the bulk of the load cools off pretty fast), and that herb is rapidly stripped anyway.

You can watch vapor production 'resume' by looking at the stem where it leaves the oven. You'll notice not much at first (meaning there's not a lot in the bowl at idle) but the density picks up in a few seconds as the air starts moving the heat through the load. Watching it can teach you a lot.

The unit takes too long to heat and cool to make shutting down between his practical. I wouldn't make a habit of dallying (in fact I don't come to think of it.....) but neither do I think rushing the next hit for fear of losing vapor is a good plan.

Enjoy it as the spirit moves. You can worry about optimizing technique when you're better friends?

Regards back at ya.

Hello,

Now I put the unit into the charger. It sounds like it turns on but it doesn't heat up. Do I have to do something to let it work while charging?

Our friend, if you recall, chose the Solo as an easy-to-operate machine for his eyesight ;) Also I think the easier route would be to remove the stem in between hits to minimize conduction vaporization... that being said, I'm far too lazy to do that, plus I'd be armed with a hot glass stem... Lord knows I nearly took out a damn eye one time :o

Hmm. There's no point in asking what model number you have since they don't mean anything to us... do you know if you got the most recent revision of it? Who did you purchase it from? If you put it on the charger, and it turns on, but you cannot select temperature, then it's one of the older models that does not have the use-and-charge feature. Otherwise I guess you would just press the up button to start moving the temperature if it's a new version.

Guys what happens if I sent the solo for repair, and Canada post fucks up and loses the package? I have a feeling that's what happened.

Hi,

I bought it here:
http://www.grasscity.com/eu_en/arizer-solo-portable-vaporizer-silver.html#.U3RuhU2KBjo

Hmm very stupid it doesn't work while charging!

I read there is a charger for old units but that's an extra price to be!
You know, you say that now, but I noticed that a lot of the newer charge-and-use models seem to have failed after a month or three. I know correlation does not equal causation, but I'm not the only one that has brought that point up.

Yes, you'll have to get a separate power adapter cable to use the "power adapter" feature, if your model does not charge-and-use. Kind of a bummer, but the way the new Solos are using the power adapter feature is harder on the batteries than using it normally.

So you think its better to keep this unit?
Is the power adapter good?? Is it also a charger?
