@Mynameismud So your hercules is working? just want to make sure. Also drop the voltage down a few and it should taste better. Some oils require lower temps to vape better.

Vapor > Smoke
Like @Caligula mention no dmm needed with it. I have the V1 which also checks battery voltage which is handy as well. The V2 may have a battery indicator or the voltage checker as well.

Anyway, so 71 rods came today. Thanks @nao12000 for Sorting my order out!

Switched it out painlessly, herc still loaded and same issues I had with the 74 rod, no vapor when pressing the button then as soon as I stop and release the button and stop inhaling, boom I hear a sizzle and vapor/smoke starts pouring out...

I scraped the oils on the walls of the herc to the center, loaded about another 0.1-0.2...had the same issue for the first couple hits and now it seems to be working fine...I just got this new oil which I think was causing the issue but I can't say for sure. I thought it would work better In the herc because it's like sappy but breaks apart like shatter...

anyway it's producing vapor immediately now...got iris dialed in at 6.8V with this but I'm getting a burnt taste still. I think that's cause of the issues I've been having the past couple days though with it not working, then all of a sudden smoke coming billowing up
May I ask where you bought your Iris from?

Anyone having any issues getting feedback from w9tech support? I submitted a few tickets today, but have gotten no response since the early AM. My persei won't light up anymore and am hoping to get this shipped back while its still under warranty :(

I just posted in this thread my question to @THC SCIENTIFIC about my wick in my KISS cart...its a page back, hoping he chimes in.

I had your problem when my coil would float up the tube. I cleaned 2 quarters and smooshed the coils super hard. Now they're kind of a PITA to put in or take out, but they don't move during use :)

Ive seen 1 coil recommended for thick clouds with shatter, that works awesome... Personally I like the convenience of loading a half gram of shatter with 2 Ti coils (on top of the buffer), and not having to reload for a long time... this technique is still delivering awesome quality vapor with less time unscrewing the cap

I want to be able to load something up with shatter and be good for a few days...it sounds like your doing it with the Herc? if I buy a Herc will I be able to load a few days worth into it?

I had a gentleman's vape cartridge that I loaded a grip of wax into but it always burnt through everything so fast that it wasn't wise to load big packs...

+ how does the Herc compare to the KISS?

Yes. I think it's just the shatter but I'm not sure. I loaded it up but could not for the life of me get any vapor after it melted in. I would press the button, inhale nothing...release the button and then a few seconds later it would sizzle and a huge cloud would come up...

That was 74 rod. Same thing happened when I switched back to the 71 rod today at first, but now it's working... We'll see what happens when I need to reload it...

I should also note I'm using two coils...I got such great results with the wax I just couldn't see going back to one. The two coils are the same size as my cut SS coil I used to use. I don't think that had anything to do with whatever was happening

And yes I already dialed it down to 6.2 and am getting better taste and still puffing clouds. And have not had the "popping" or whatever issue was happening occur again

May I ask where you bought your Iris from?
A kind member listed two in the forums a few weeks ago. I got lucky enough to snag one... I doubt you'll be able to find another until they release the v2

I saw it, not sure what to say other then these things are super delicate. They will break with minor pressure applied, also the the heating and cooling affects as well.

We will respond to the tickets by tonight. We are currently running 1 man operation here as we do a show in the East Coast. Sorry for any issues but we will get back to normal operations on monday.

Its been about 8mo using my herc SR71 and this thing is still puffing away. Just wanted to list out my experience since it may address some questions

- The TI coils were an awesome improvement - essential if you want to use a 3.7v herc setup
- I torch my upper chamber all the time, still the same color and I havent experienced any problems. I like to torch because I would pretty much kill a set a batteries just loading and melting down material. Now that I have the CORE, it doesnt matter.
- I use Sony VTC5s for 3.7v herc setups
- I use 2x 18490 AW (white rod) with SS tube+stock tube -this is the hercSaber. Or 1x SONY VTC5 (black rod) for portable sessions with friends.
- I used to get the blinking light problem on my first Persei top which would require me to quick unscrew/rescrew the herc, but after breaking the bottom threading on my herc and 2 replacement tops (I break things) later I havent had this issue so i believe its been addressed in most cases.
- I've run the black rod at 4.8v and the white rod at 6.3v. Black rod setup has less heat time though, but more current being applied. This is not an issue when using the Core since it can handle it.

@THC SCIENTIFIC any updates on the Triton progress? Also, will future products be compatible with the CORE (enail, vection h20)?

Riding BART into the city puffing on agent Orange shatter from the green door. Yum!

I have limited pocket space for this 10 hour trip, and I've got Hercules riding shotgun :)

Damn, what city does it take 10hrs to get to on BART? You must be brave, those BART cops terrify me. I try to stay away and stay white.

The black rod is mighty fine, I must say. Always, two tops in rotation. Well three if we count the SS kit, five if we count the hammer tops.

This is something I see across many pens, but I just bought a kiss 7.4 volt. First off, it obliterated the product and left me with a monster cloud of burned nastiness. Not a great start for a good amount of product to waste. So i moved to the 3.7 battery and although better, I still have the same question as with many of these skillets.

The oil runs off the coil immediately and runs to the sides. After a few drags you have a white coil (dry) and all the oil is on the sides, near the bottom. What is the point of this? How do I get the oil back on top of the coil? Why can't the coil be at the bottom, moreso like micro g style, where the lowest of oil will still touch the coil?

Too big of a load? I don't have much oil flowing down below my coil b/c I only place a very small amount of concentrate on it. Literally one hit at a time. Pulsing the button also helps avoid burning your oil and maximizes the coil's lifespan.

actually, i put little amounts directly on top to eliminate the stuff running down inside, not outside. I mean if I have to scoop down each time to pull back wax, that's not optimal. I mean, do you guys jam it full? there is a large drop under the coil on both sides. wax pools up there and the coil cannot reach it.

also, i should get a video of the 7.4. I have never see a dab poof into nothing that fast.

So my Persei and accessories are on the way! I woke up to a shipping email from w9 this morning :D

Excited to try this out!

Gary just let me know he swapped the colour of my Persei/SS kit at my request (since I ordered just before the new ones arrive). He's stayed in contact every step of the way!

This is great service, as good as I've ever gotten (and Andy from EpicVape has spoilt me in the past!) and I don't even have the product yet!

Don't wanna sound like a nutswinger but I like to give credit to the good guys around these parts who both produce vapes and really look after their customers ;) Glad to have found two such manufacturers now (especially one for portable and one for desktop)!

I have been using both the 3.7 and the 7.4 kiss carts and you have to really learn when to pump the power button to heat, but also not hold it too long so as you do not overheat the oil. The 7.4 definitely has a learning curve compared to the 3.7. The main thing I notice with the higher voltage cart is it will get really hot really fast. Where the 3.4 can take a few seconds or so to get to a good temp. Also the glow from the 7.4 is much brighter meaning it is burning a lot hotter. I have ran both carts sloppy full and also conservatively and I prefer to load the 3.7v carts lower as it can pool under the coil. Where the 7.4 will re melt whatever is under it and with a toothpick you can scoop whatever is under your coil and re coated and ready for another round with a couple of carefully placed scoops on either side of the coil. I am still learning and I am sure there are many different techniques to optimal usage of your persei. This is just mine so far and it has kept me very well medicated in the process =)
