Discontinued Thermovape Cera

... in my opinion it s the core or the switch...

Sorry you've having troubles. There have been very very few core failures, basically none since the process for winding coils was changed a year or so back I'm told.

There's a chance it's a strap connection problem, but most likely a switch based on history. Here's an easy test to try to confirm: Stuff a walnut size wad of Aluminum foil in the end instead of the cap/tali switch. Press it in firmly enough to connect the bottom of the battery to the metal threaded ring. If it fires up OK, you too have a switch problem. Contact TV and have them send you a new switch to put in the tail cap (it screws in). You can continue to use the foil until it comes.

Don't discount the battery completely. Cera puts a very large power demand on the battery, many wimp out under the load but do just fine at lower levels. The 'ball of foil' test will confirm the battery of course, if it then works normally. In general, if it gets warm but not hot enough I first look to battery/charge/charger.

Good luck.

so what are your plans with your cera... if not using it...

Perhaps make a little shrine?

thanks a lot . .. i tried that also yesterday but with keys and so on... had no alu foil at home... ok... switch shouldn t be the problem... i also tried now only battery and core (with the alu and without the cera body) and it worked (the core (wire) glowed)... so the problem have to do with the body...

yeah a shrine or an expensive paperweight or maybe a gift for the girlfriend ;)

... so the problem have to do with the body...

Bummer. Almost certainly either the welds at the top (the ones on the bottom are well supported) or a physical break in the strap where it takes the right angle turn at the top. The tube has to go back and get stripped since the screwplate/end sleeve/strap is all one welded piece. And needs careful fitting making field repairs impossible I think. Although you might want to bring that idea up with them.....

Good luck with it.

Luna or Cera?

Yup, I too assumed he was in the wrong thread (no big sin IMO), no silver plating in Cera......that's a Luna switch part thing.

so i have to send it to tet?

I strongly suspect so. The only way out I can see is to talk to them and see if they are willing to send you the welded assembly and have you try to fit it there. Not at all easy, you'll probably have to torch the ring off the end probably (very tough epoxy there) then carefully lay in the new one after cleaning everything up, it has to be carefully aligned. Tough job, one I wouldn't personally take on. Then again the factory is 25 miles away and 'the guys' interesting to visit with and watch in action.

You can ask or not, but if you can't do it there the only solution I can see is sending it back. Sorry to say.

Mine is on it's way back from tet, not even going to touch it when I get it back for fear of getting more burn marks on my silver contacts and for something else to go wrong

What sort of repair or failure was yours sent in for?

Good Morning!

My name is Rich and this is my first post ever. I just want to thank everyone's input from the Luna thread and this Cera thread. The vast amount of pertinent information is beyond what I thought I was going to find. So again, thanks doods.

Okay. I'm in the pre purchase decision phase and I'm a stickler for this. I've spent HOURS researching on here to try to understand to the point my head wants to explode.

Is there a definitive answer to say one is better than the other (I apologize if this is not the right thread when comparing both. Please delete or handle accordingly. I just couldn't find a comparison thread on here.) I just am a little weary to make a high effort purchase decision and have issues with it in a couple days.

Also, vaporseller is selling the Cera Ti Kit for LL and EO for 334. Good deal? Or is there any added benefits going direct to TET?

Welcome Good Citizen! First off grab that deal!! (or I might:2c:) Secondly, the Luna and Cera are just like all the people in the world, The Same, but Different :D. The Luna core and Cera core for EO are the same. I have the Cera and was interchanging the cores for a bit (LL then EO right after) The Luna is a good purchase if you are a moderate to heavy oil/concentrate user because it is quick and easy to bust out for a nice session or a quick blast. The Cera is tops for taste and weed efficiency. If you only have the funds for 1 I'd definitely go with Cera for the versatility. But since I'm a sucker for great products I got both! Also TET will continue to service that bad boy so no worries there bro

That was the fastest reply. I was actually going to message you. I see you involved in both threads and I enjoy any thoughts you share. Especially you seem to be having a great experience. But awesome. That's all I need to know :)

Definitely getting both. Go big or go home!

between which vapes do you want to decide?

In my opinion there is no definitive answer to say one vape is better then another (perhaps the vape is really crap)

Tastes are different one is more after clouds another for taste another for stealth and so on...

but in my opinion you should make a list which things are important in a vape for you and then ask here...
maybe look also who had a lot of posts or is long time member in fc... because to really judge between various vapes you have to own them or at least tested them (vapes are expensive)... and maybe thats also a place for people who paid alot for there vape to dissminish there kognitive dissonanz...and praise what they bought Psychological tactic (and thats why they praise there new bought vape)

in reality the only way to find out if a vape is better then another for you is to test them but yeahh thats a problem for most people...

in my opinion (and little bit of experience) there is until now no portable vape which is in all points (vape quality, taste, vape, used products, easyness of use...) best...

Thanks for the kind words and that is the best decision you could make. It saves so much time not having to change the cores back and forth. Plus I find myself getting fancy at time and vaping both Cera and Luna at the same time:science:

3 days ago someone handed me a portable toothbrush that changed my life. Lol it was the Cera.

I did get the opportunity to session the Cera for 20 minutes. Only downfall I've experienced in that short time was the body becoming extremely hot.

Let it be known, I go to a lot of music festivals and live concerts. I do like stealth, but I am more than happy to be raging stage side with a Cera. I have an Atmos Jewel for the stealth Oils, but I'm looking for a portable LL vape that just so happens to also convert into EO when needed. I'll be using more LL especially being in NY.

Thanks for the kind words and that is the best decision you could make. It saves so much time not having to change the cores back and forth. Plus I find myself getting fancy at time and vaping both Cera and Luna at the same time:science:

I too started out with an Atmos for oils, and let me say that the Cera took me to a whole different plane of hashexistence. Don't discount the usefulness of the EO cart until you give it a fair shot. It has the power to give you MONSTER nailish hits, and it will be kicking major ass long after your Atmos has gone to its eternal rest.

Let it be known I have finally accepted portable vapes. Used to watch my friend throw his G Pens at the wall in frustration. So it's safe to say I am a nOOb and going through the same path every new vaper experiences.

I keep wanting more. I thought the Atmos Jewel was perfect, but now I have a rush for something better. Also, getting to play with the Cera was a huge plus. I think a majority of people who purchase the Cera did so based on the input here and what we can find on the on the interwebs. Just happened to be at the right place at the right time :)

But yes, it took me to a whole new level of vaping I never knew existed...

Update: Okay. Pulling the trigger tonight for the Cera.

Can anyone enlighten me with a more in depth explanation on the SS Cera vs the Ti Cera?
I've been digging thru this thread for hours and just haven't found anything yet.

I obviously read the FAQ on TET's website, but their explanation does not sufficiently justify why it is 250 more. I understand Ti is lighter and more durable, but SS is quite non corrosive in terms of being in an outdoor setting like I will be a lot (hiking, festivals, golf, etc).

"Either way, both are extremely high quality for use in a portable vaporizer..."

Also, does the Ti have any functional benefits over the SS?
Ex: Does it last longer?, does it have a better taste?, does the Ti LL and EO cartridge handle better than the SS?

Sorry to overwhelm with questions. This is the longest pre purchase decision I have ever made.

IMO, in addition to the reduction in weight...the Ti EO cart has the benefit of being able to be torched clean repeatedly. If I recall correctly, torching wasn't recommended for the SS EO carts. However, since you're looking for LL use, I do not see much of a benefit to using Ti over SS other than having a lighter weight vape.

Keep in mind, if you choose to go the EO route in the future, a Ti cart will be twice as much as a SS cart (200 vs 100 dollars) and they should not be mixed (ie SS EO cart on a Ti Cera body is not okay).

With the newly adopted $25 cart rebuild option it may not be worth it to upgrade to Ti.

But...that vapor seller price at 334 for a Ti LL cera is pretty appealing :)

Maybe let a few others...who've been around these parts a lot longer than myself...weigh in first?

Thanks for the feedback. I know. I'm literally sitting here watching Game of Thrones, but this Ti SS dilemma is still driving me crazy and only really because of that vapor seller price :D . 200 for a cartridge is rough though. I truly do not see the added value in regards to torching it.

But all said and done the SS with a car charger and extra o rings is $415 vs buying the Ti version on vapor seller for 336.99 and then buying the Ti cartridge off TET for 200 comes out to basically $565.

Point: I'm buying the SS lol. Gonna use the money I saved by not buying the Ti and get a nice skilletools travel kit. Gonna wait and call TET tomorrow before I officially send my monies over to see if I can get an ETA! So torqued right meow!

While I had most of my Thermovape parts out before I send Cera to repair I was experimenting with some tops and I came up with something pretty slick, if i don't say so my self... Yes, it is sturdy and fully functional, I can even throw the T1 top back on with , no fiddling, and use it as usual, and I can also throw on the Custom Ceramic MP without switching O-Rings.

(Though, i highly doubt it) Im hoping we can see a new LL set up that has similar aesthetics :science:

@Rocco Very nice. Sleek!
Unfortunately they haven't produced the T1 in over a year and a half.
They have unfortunately discontinued it from their lineup.
I just talked to Zeki a few moments ago (I was about to purchase one rather cheap off my friend) and wanted to see if anything changed.
He also informed me the only parts they have for T1s are 510 mouthpieces.
He said the only vaporizers they sell as of no are the Cera and the Luna and do not plan on bringing the T1 back.
I don't know why, I rather like the T1 switch.

Yeah the T1 is a great device, has its downfalls but I can easily look past them. IMO it is or will be a collectible, if you can get one from a friend at a good price I recommend, and if you don't, ill get be glad to buy it from your friend! haha

Thermovape did the right thing in discontinuing it from a business standpoint, but id love to see them combine all 3 generations of their vapes together for a Luna Flower hybrid of sorts (Or at least Cera Mini for flowers)..... Pipe dreams i suppose....

A Ti Cera "mini" with a Luna button would be phenomenal! (catching the Cera before it rolls of the table gets old fast)!

^ I like where your headed there!

I like the Switch being somewhere on the side as you mentioned.
That or a tweaked version of the T1 thumb slide switch. The slide switch (I'm sure the Luna style does too) helps you counter balance the top heaviness of the vape during use.
