Hey guys, hows everything going? I missed the VapeNail launch apparently!

Been trying to search for the the FC coupon codes, coming up empty. Is there one for FC for the nails or general buying off VXL site that is active?

- Hydra foot - sold out still?
- Hydra foot 2.0 - sold out/ discontinued / any update?
- how many nails are you guys getting, 1-3?
- Any tweaks to the $15 shipping? Seems high for EZ loaders and the Nail

OMG so you guys turn the dials DOWN for the attachment? Nice, no more turbo mode needed?

I dropped my IGG hydrafoot about 4 feet onto hard tile and it shattered. So I'm currently using my IGG Grid/Circ/Icepinch HT without any feet! It's a footless tube, blah.

-----

I'm in for 2 nails @ $15 shipping... no codes worked so whatevs, need those VXnails.

Hydrafoot 2.0 may be discontinued or will be released some time very soon. Here is what I know: I was told at the end of February that they would be available by the end of March. At the end of March, I was told they would be available by the end of April. Toward the end of April, I was told within a few weeks.

Also, everyone on this website is awesome. You guys provide a lot of great feedback/input for the Evo which has definitely optimized my experience with this product.

VXNs arrived today! WOW.

Oh, and my bad, the box was not too big... it was the local USPS that held it over.

Anyway.. WOW. Yes, that is nice. And, yes.

Okay, hubby shot video which I will edit and post later. I am AMAZED that it cooked off completely clean on MAX, after just a minute. And, it was good. Really good.

I'll get on that video in just a little while...

We had some issues getting the right tubing and such but it is very much alive. We will be getting them either later this week or early next week.

Seems the answer is yes. Thanks for the confirming responses (@ fluffhead, Roth, Seek).

Best, /jd
I've just tested this some more and wonder if these results also match up with others' experiences.

TESTING STEPS:
1) Set the dial to noon on a fully heated EVO and wait for LED to go green.
2) Add an empty VXNail and start timer.
3) Mark time when LED turns red
4) Mark time when LED turns green again.

RESULTS (after 3 tests):
Average time to go red from green: 18 seconds.
Average time to return to green from red: 38 seconds.

Do you also get similar times when following these steps?

Thanks very much,
/jd

jimdee,
I have concerns about my new VXN, VXNail, VapeNail... Most importantly, what happens when resin gets inside the glass chamber of the EVO? It's going to happen, my wax bubbles up fiercely. I've only used it a few times and the slit is already coated. I can mitigate the risks by using very small amounts, inhaling slowly, and tilting the EVO so it has to fight gravity to bubble out the slit. Even with these precautions I'm scared continued use of the 'nail' may diminish the purity of my expensive vaporizer.

Can we also talk about how unsafe operating this thing is? The game is to get super high and then quickly attempt to pull a tiny, molten-hot tube out of a thermal core. If you make it past round one without burning yourself (unlikely), you get to play the 'guess when heat levels aren't skin blistering' waiting game. Over exaggerations aside, for $25 how does this thin, tiny, piece of glass not come with a couple O-rings and a simple stand? (a bottle of aloe would have helped too)

Look. I own cloud #70. I was one of the first kickstarter backers for the EVO. I like your company. I'm not going anywhere. The nail is a cool idea, but I need someone to convince me it's safe around my EVO before I continue using it.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
I re-tasked a "roach clip" (alligator clip) to use to remove it and then put it in a small glass jar (a shot glass would probably do too). I can put it on the window sill to speed cooling.

It does seem like having two would be of use to have one cooling while the other was being used.

It would be nice if they offered a discount on more than one like 2/$45 or 3/$60. (Hint, Hint)

As for the bubbling issue a lot depends on the purity of what you put in and has been stated before a smaller amount than you'd expect is all you need.I did have some bubble out and bake on the outside of the VXN which worried me about the bamboo also. But I can't see any evidence visually of stuff stuck on the bamboo. I too would be interested in what others thought about this.

You didn't say how hot you ran it so you might experiment with that. I've been working my way down temp-wise and am around 10 o'clock now. It was around 1 o'clock when it bubbled over.

From someone who has heavily soiled the bamboo all I can say is If I couldn't scrub brush and flush it clean with ISO I would have been screwed a while ago and had to send my EVO in for service. After 2 small fires, melting a brush, and enough oil to completely clog the unit, I have cleaned it back to new condition several times now. So far the best brush I have, that I didn't melt, is the small end of a keg/faucet cleaning brush I got at a home brew store. As long as you are patient, and don't get any ISO down through the crumb shield, your good. I use a plastic funnel but a wash bottle would be even better.

Edit:
Sorry this might be a dumb question but whats the best way to clean these VXN? All that black build up stuff makes me want to clean it.
Right now I'm using Simple Green in an ultrasonic cleaner, sometimes a little ISO float if necessary. Some of the Beta Test Crew are experimenting with an enzyme based solution called purple power, its their OIL/710 solution I think. I might mix some d-limonene with ISO to make a home version of orange chronic but have not found the need yet. http://www.purplepower.com/

I think dabbing all this shatter is making me stoopid or careless. Put a cleaning brush down the bamboo while it was too hot . . . blech. Burned hair smell all melted inside, took hours to clean . . . :bang:
LMFAO I did the EXACT same thing with my Cloud! You could really say you were wasted!!!
Its crazy how fast that brush incinerates LOL

Clean it with a bottle brush and iso, just be careful that iso ONLY gets inside the bamboo.

It's going to happen, my wax bubbles up fiercely. I've only used it a few times and the slit is already coated.

Perhaps look into a different source for concentrates? I've never had anything bubble up fiercely like you describe when loading a proper sized load.

I can mitigate the risks by using very small amounts, inhaling slowly, and tilting the EVO so it has to fight gravity to bubble out the slit. Even with these precautions I'm scared continued use of the 'nail' may diminish the purity of my expensive vaporizer.

I believe that's the intent of the VXN. You ideally load just enough that you can finish it in one hit. Many benefits to this. More efficient with your oil, always that pure first hit taste, no mess.

By no means do I have extensive experience with my VXN's yet, but from my use so far, I've not had the issues you describe. I load a small amount in, and inhale. I do inhale slower then I do with flowers, but I wouldn't say it's a significant difference. There is definitely no tilting involved.

Can we also talk about how unsafe operating this thing is? The game is to get super high and then quickly attempt to pull a tiny, molten-hot tube out of a thermal core. If you make it past round one without burning yourself (unlikely)

I've yet to burn myself on the VXN, but yes, it is certainly possible. But then again, you'd have that same risk with a blow torch. Even after leaving the VXN in the EVO on max to self clean, the top does not get hot. I can easily pull the VXN out with no issue if I grab it by the rim.

You get to play the 'guess when heat levels aren't skin blistering' waiting game.

This is exactly why Stonemonkey and others have suggested getting two or more VXNs. That way you always have one ready to go.

Over exaggerations aside, for $25 how does this thin, tiny, piece of glass not come with a couple O-rings and a simple stand? (a bottle of aloe would have helped too)

Yes, a VXN stand would be a nice accessory, and one that I'd definitely buy. For the moment, I'm just using a shot glass to put the hot VXN in.

Honestly, I think you're worrying a bit too much. Can you get your EVO dirty with a VXN if you're not careful? Sure, but just clean it if you need to.

Can you burn yourself if you're not careful? Yes, but that's why I NEVER pick up a VXN from the bottom, even if I think it's cold. I could be super stoned and forget that's the one I just took out.

I don't know, I'd suggest you load a bit in and relax :)

Have you guys ever tried just using a torch to clean the VXN's? I torch all my normal quartz and boro nails clean, so why not this one? Just would have to slowly move the torch in so as not to apply too much thermal shock to the boro.

Mud,
I like the shot glass idea. I also grabbed my infrared digital temperature gun to test the heat before touching it.

It sounds like the worst case scenario is I have to buy some of the tools posted above and clean the bamboo tube. That's not a project I want to take on. I think I'm going to go back to using a torch or pen when dealing with concentrates. I've never had a problem just sticking a little oil on a bed of flower in an EZ Bowl.

.....maybe I shouldn't be too quick to laugh t-dub......might be me next time......anyways, I only purchased one vxn and I believe that's helping to keep me properly focused on the "task at hand"...probably if I had another one "ready to go" while the 1st was cooling I would get too fucked-up and the fire trucks would be on the way to my house...I'm not using the high temps for my shatter use, so my evo is not any hotter than with flowers....I'm just more loaded....and if I'm doing shatter (as opposed to crumble) my fingers are sticky..

I am the Vapor King--I can do anything
Gotta chime in and say that I'm another enthused advocate of the VapXNail. The flavor and smoothness is remarkable, and the power is there to go really as hot as you want, which has been about 2 on the dial for me (usually I just heat it to 12).

I've been hitting my buddy's enail the past couple months, and this thing is superior IMO. It's way smoother, somehow. It's hard to say why this is, because an enail has full temperature control and there are some out there that are all glass just like the VapXNail.

EDIT: How hot do you all think the nail gets when on max? Maybe that's the beauty in the VXN--you clean it off after each (or a few) dab(s).

DAMN YOU All WITH ACCESS TO CONCENTRATES!!! I'M SUPPOSED TO BE THE CONNOISSEUR.
I've never even tried them, thank God my wife reminded me before I bought the 2 Vxnails I was about to buy. Its crazy the cultural barriers I run into. Ok sorry folks for the rant, I've got to find better friends.:disgust::bang: until then GSC will have to suffice. Thanks Vapexhale for making me feel better:mental::disgust::rofl:
P.s sad part is being in the city there is probably a guy one street over with a shitload of shatter trying to dump it, just my luck
