yes I did. What is the difference between the SR74, the GR2, and the normal KISS cartridge?

I don't think you'll get much out of it, Are you planning to switch to the black rod once you have it primed? I don't see how what you are saying would work.
Sr74 is the Hercules. It's the beast. It uses an all ceramic heater, and titanium sponges (also called coils but that can be confusing with the kiss cartridges. It takes some work but once you get the hang of it you should be set for a long long long time unless you break or lose something (all of which can easily be replaced)
Gr2 is the Ti Kiss cart. It uses a Gr 2 Ti wire coil as the heater around a ceramic rod. These are a bit more fragile. If you mess with the wire or don't keep it soaked in oil it will die on you. Also they are load as you go. While the Hercules is load and your good for a while...
Normal Kiss cartridge is pre Gr2. Not sure what wire it uses but it's more in line with the rest of the pens out there. Except it uses a ceramic rod for the wire instead of a wick...
The kiss and Hercules are two completely different cartridges. So don't expect to get the hang of the kiss cartridge and then be able to instantly master the Hercules whenever you get it

Ditto man...exact same issues, and after reading through these posts.....I am seriously underloading....guess I'm being a little too stingy with my stash....these little quick rips with my KISS cart work well for me....I'll keep the Herc around though, I probably need to stock up on some meds soon...I have a nibbler comingI also have this issue with the Herc, just so inconsistent. Maybe we were the unlucky ones and were sold faulty products? Who knows but I'm not willing to spend more money to find out tho especially after the post that was made by @Sleepin in CA.
One minute its producing huge clouds, the next I'll be lucky if it produces anything. I've tried different consistency of concentrates, different mod recommendations to improve performance on here, and I even tired with two coils and the "runny" concentrate wouldn't even melt properly yet the device was so hot I could barely touch the outer shell lol. Very frustrating.
As much as I want to love this product, at this point I think I'm ready to jump ship for something more consistent. I'm honestly getting better hauls off the Ti Kiss 3.7 on a gpen mini battery no joke lol
It also seems like the Hercules NEEDS "The Core" as the batteries die within a day.
Even when I'm using the KISS 7.4 and have it absolutely packed with concentrate it still gives off pull thats extremely rough on the throat.

Im not sure what's going on with you guys. I want to say not enough oil, going through the buffer like @Caligula mentioned but now I experienced a similar scenario.
Cleaned out my Hercules, snapped the sr71 white rod in the process. At the time I was using 2 coils and wax. Running it on my iris at 5.7V which is closer to the black rod with a little extra power...
Anyway, cleaned it up, switched in the sr74 rod. Still 2 coils and loaded some expensive shatter. Probably 0.8 total. Tried it with the sr74 rod at 7V and couldn't really get anything good going. Switched back to the hammer top and still nothing great. If I try and hit it like I have been, I get nothing or whispy vapor. If I take the top cap off and watch while I press the button it takes a good 10-15 seconds. At around the 8-10 sec mark it starts bubbling and then out of no where it like "pops" and bellows of smoke/vapor comes pouring out. When I try hitting it using the same timing to get visible exhales it tastes burnt and not good...
I'm thinking it's a combination of the shatter, 2 coils and the 74 rod just not being up to the task. I put the herc away. It still looks pretty loaded to me. I should have my sr71 rods today so we'll see if that makes the difference

I had your problem when my coil would float up the tube. I cleaned 2 quarters and smooshed the coils super hard. Now they're kind of a PITA to put in or take out, but they don't move during use 
Ive seen 1 coil recommended for thick clouds with shatter, that works awesome... Personally I like the convenience of loading a half gram of shatter with 2 Ti coils (on top of the buffer), and not having to reload for a long time... this technique is still delivering awesome quality vapor with less time unscrewing the cap

I had no idea you could get a white rod to run at under 6 volts.
@Mynameismud , part of what you described sounds like a pop clog. If that's the issue I can see that the oil under the clog gets super-heated because the clog blocks the vapor. When you get the 'pop' it starts producing vapor, right? Like a dam that finally breaks?
Just a theory...
Question for those that use 2 coils. Doesn't the amount needed for the buffer double with two coils?

Yes. I seriously fell In love with the sr71 rod at 5.7V. Huge clouds, amazing taste, no preheat needed and no burnt or harshness whatsoever. I was using wax though with 2 coils and it was a beast. The wax wasn't the greatest which is why I tried cleaning it out cause the new shatter taste phenomenal...
But yes what you described is accurate. It doesn't so much make a popping sound as it just kinda gets hotter and hotter, then starts bubbling then all of a sudden boom smoke!
Yes, 2 coils you need about .4-.5 buffer and then another 0.4-0.5. I usually load one coil then the other then just top off as needed. I have about 0.8 in it now, I just don't feel like wasting anymore oil cause it was really expensive and I should have a new sr71 rod coming today

Someone show me how to install my new Nibbler on my Persei/Herc
@THC SCIENTIFIC my wick is snapped on my Ti-KISS cart. It is hard to tell but the two pieces move independently but it still works and heats up. The coil is still in tact throughout both pieces if that makes sense.
is it still safe to use? when I cleaned it I noticed small pieces of what I think was the wick floating in the ISO. are these particles of the wick safe if they are being vaporized?
This was the replacement for the DOA Ti-Kiss cartridge that I had. I think I just have really bad luck with your product. I did not use a metal device on it and did I use excessive pressure...I have used less than 2 grams on this cartridge.

Hello everyone, I love my Persei & Bender @ home, but I'm looking for a portable herb vape for out & about. I want battery operated, no lighters. Can I get some suggestions? Off topic but I trust u all . Firefly looks good? After some input I can go check those threads
D r vape, I love the original Cartidges, I mostly use 2.4,1.5, & 5.0 ohms, nice to load and forget, the occasional clog is no big deal, quick fix. Double top great too, hope helps in your purchase, can't go wrong with any of their products IMHO

So today is a Hercules Hybrid* day! Taking the wifes car out to get detailed and smogged (fucking California smog Nazis), I brought along my light saber aka the Persei with SS long tube and 2x AW 18650s! Threw about .35g of Jilly Bean x Blue Dream shatter in there and off I went!
Well, Im almost done with the smog. Just waiting at the moment, hitting my light saber in broad daylight (with all the douchey hipsters running around the area with e-cig mods, it belnds in well enough). Decided to take the bottom chamber out to check for leaks just cause...
Now, mind you that ive already run about 2 grams through this thing since Ive last disassembled/cleaned the Herc...
You know what I found? NOT A GOD DAMNED THING. No oil, not a drop. Shit is bone dry and perfectly clean!
...and sadly my top chamber is starting ti get dry as well. Lame.
Anyway, after squishing my Ti oil coil and refining my draw/cool-down technique I finally got repeatable results with zero reclaim leakage!
Just wanted to throw that out there since it seems we only hear from people with issues. Its for sure not easy to learn how to use correctly (shit I have one of the first SR71 carts and Im still learning) but when you do its a beautiful thing. And internet being what it is, those with issues are typically the most vocal. That being said I just wanted to share something positive with my recent experience here.
@THE KISS FREAK Arizer Solo or Firefly depending on your needs for stealth and battery life.

Like @Caligula mention no dmm needed with it. I have the V1 which also checks battery voltage which is handy as well. The V2 may have a battery indicator or the voltage checker as well.
Anyway, so 71 rods came today. Thanks @nao12000 for Sorting my order out!
Switched it out painlessly, herc still loaded and same issues I had with the 74 rod, no vapor when pressing the button then as soon as I stop and release the button and stop inhaling, boom I hear a sizzle and vapor/smoke starts pouring out...
I scraped the oils on the walls of the herc to the center, loaded about another 0.1-0.2...had the same issue for the first couple hits and now it seems to be working fine...I just got this new oil which I think was causing the issue but I can't say for sure. I thought it would work better In the herc because it's like sappy but breaks apart like shatter...
anyway it's producing vapor immediately now...got iris dialed in at 6.8V with this but I'm getting a burnt taste still. I think that's cause of the issues I've been having the past couple days though with it not working, then all of a sudden smoke coming billowing up

I got so high last night. I want to kiss the Hercules design engineer. When this beast works, it works so good. Do you want to know how well it works, when it works? I'll say this. When it doesn't work, I forgo medicating using a backup device. That's right. If I get wispy hits, do I pull out my old rig? I thought I would, but it has been sitting in the box ever since I got my black SR-74 rod. No, I just sit there and say, its chill, I'll give it a try in an hour.
