The silicone mouth piece does have a very strong plastic smell/taste, but soaking it in water overnight solves that.

I've had my Flowermate for three days and it certainly is an improvement over a MFLB. For one it produces a much stronger dose. The first time I used it I took the same amount of hits as I would a MFLB and was so stoned I could not figure out how to untie my shoes. I like a good indica sleepy time dose before bed this thing vaporizes at a high enough temperature to where ABV leftovers is much darker brown.

hey vapeair, that order from ebay didnt happen to be vapestix did it? I just ordered one from them and their in the united states as am I, so I'm assuming there won't be any weird charges. BTW, read this whole thread a few days ago and I instantly bought one from ebay after a couple weeks of research into others. Being a first time buyer of a vape, I really think it's the price point. Other vape mfg. should be happy something like this will hit the shelves. I know I'm going to end up upgrading to one of the ones I was originally set on, like the Davinci ascent.

PS thanks for all the work Vape Dr. and others.

was the box not sealed in plastic when you got it? that's what i hate about Ebay! people can be deceitful...

No the vaporizer was not sealed and seller does not want it back. I was worried and also thought the item should have been sealed, was even going to look and see if they come sealed. Not sure if it would be from going through customs, it was listed as brand new when I purchased. It was also labeled as perfume which may be the reason for the import fee's. Now I am not even wanting to keep this after finding that out, as seller is wanting to strike a deal and give me a discount as I was really wanting to just send it back.

No I ordered from calidepot he only had 1 for sale and does not look to be selling anymore.

BTW, here's my beginner vape kit I just bought online:
(after some extensive research)

VaporMax V
Space case black titanium 2 piece grinder
6 little glass jars from some site recc on here
Funk Fighter bag to hold it all in

coming this week:

Med Card again after a few years
5 top shelf G sativas FTP deal for $50

After I purchased everything I'll be in just under $300. Not bad, eh?

AND I'm set! any add on recommended? The sativa search is going to be medical related. And I'm going away from combustion, (joints mainly) to the vape and I feel that will be enough. Don't think I'll need any water attachments.

Just got mine in purchased from ebay not at all too happy. On top of paying a bit more I was charged import duties making this vape more expensive then the Solo I just got. The funny thing is first time I was ever charged duties from USPS. There are also a few marks on the unit and mouth piece, it also has a very strong plastic smell. Will be sending it back hopefully the duties I paid at the door can be recouped and will get one off of DHgate. Was really looking forward to using this vape. :(

Man Ebay really is a gamble, thankfully if they refuse to refund the full cost(Price of device,shipping,etc...) you can go to ebay and open a case, 99% of the time the buyer wins and gets a full refund.

I have a lot of experience in this due to used Cameras and lenses I bought(Crap I got some with mold in them....geez some people).

Also I am seeing a lot of them for around 85-100 on Ebay now.

after 3 sessions with my new arrival count me in as a believer.

Build
Feels very solid. Nice aluminum shell. Nice heft.
Some plastic at the top and bottom. The exterior, heating chamber, and mouthpiece (though some kind of glass adapter/mod would be a nice touch) are all better than i anticipated. The one area that worries me is that the plastic slider doors at top and bottom could wear out and start sliding open on their own spilling their contents or one could pop off and be lost (Already accidentally popped door off the bottom of mine but it popped right in easily and functioned perfectly). The only other immediate gripe would be the label/branding. I have seen this with other items where the company wants to market them their product as discreet and the slaps weed leaf graphics or stoner references on them. This would look virtually like a small portable charging brick if it didn't have the very non-discreet picture stamped on each side.

Use
Simple enough. Load your herbal blend (still experimenting with how tight to pack). Screw on mouth piece. Some report better experience by removing the ceramic filter inside the base of the silicone mouthpiece but after trying it both with and without i can't say i can tell a difference). There was a mild taste to the silicone mouthpiece. Probably won't get a good chance to soak it until weekend but i suspect it will make that a non-issue.

Hold button for 3-5 seconds....and it will turn red. When you let go it should remain red (if it doesn't you did not hold the button down long enough). From that point all you have to do is wait. Light should turn green in less than a minute (mine is timing 38-43 seconds). Once it turns green you are good to draw. Waiting around 8-10 seconds between draws also worked well for me (though as the bowl was more towards the end of vape session i seemed to benefit from letting it back a little longer between draws). You may need to experiment with your draw speed but we aren't talking about an MFLB learning curve here.

My first session was great. Good draws....good flavor...though the silicon taste was definitely a background presence. I did only get about 10 good draws out of my first load (maybe i didn't load enough or packed to tight). 2nd session was a real disappointment. I think it boiled down to drawing to hard possibly but i couldn't seem to get anything flowing at least not as smoothly as the first session. 3rd and 4th session both outstanding. Great draws...decent clouds. Loaded a little more this time and didn't really pack just screwed the mouthpiece in allowing it to compress it slightly. Long steady draws and ending with a couple slightly harder shortened pulls. So for 12 good long draws off session 4 and still some life left in it...though i don't see getting 30 or more draws like some others (could be a quality difference in herbal blend or possibly i am just taking longer draws and more vapor with each draw?). Haven't had it long enough to really test battery yet.

Comfortable to hold. I used to have an iphone 4 in a otterbox defender and while the flowermate is definitely heavier the feel in the hand is similar. Never got to hot to hold or pocket. The metal adapter at the end of the mouthpiece will get hot and may surprise you if you accidentally touch it. But, 1. It is hard to touch it while using (you almost have to try to touch it). Mine never got so hot it worried it would burn me. Even at its hottest i could press my finger against it for a good 5-7 seconds without significant discomfort. At least with my unit it was more of a "wow that's hot" than a "holy shit i just burned the flesh off my fingers".

Smell - didn't notice much smell during or after use. On par with the MFLB in my opinion in term of discreet low odor which is next to nothing with my MFLB.

The build quality seems above average especially at the price point. The question in my mind aside from hearing about the internals is the long-term durability. What kind of lifespan will the batteries get on average per unit? It seems to be non-replaceable (maybe via the breakdown we will see if it could be replaced by a user and what level of effort involved in replacement). The durability of the button could be a future issue i suppose....seems sturdy but who knows how many pushes it will last before wearing out. These haven't really been around long enough to get gauge of how good their quality control was but if these aren't all dying in 6 months and the vapor path is safe then this unit should have a big market.

As i had hoped this is going to make a nice change of pace/addition to my MFLB and will probably be my primary driver with MFLB reserved for when just a quick draw here or there is desired and when the flowermate is charging.

P.s. - One thing i can say with confidence is that this unit does not combust. Even light to mid-brown AVB all 4 sessions even tried to overcook the last load. Kept cooking and trying to draw after i was no longer getting vapor and still came out a lighter brown than my MFLB avb

Well I ended up working out a deal as I do believe the vape is new and was opened by customs who also roughed up my unit at my expenses thank you very much Canada Post.

Before I get into my review I think Flower Mate / Smiss should look at a few of these suggestions
- Include an extra pack of screens or 2nd mouth piece
- A storage location for the stir tool so in a week it's not lost
- Longer cord on the power adapter
- When used in charging/Plugged in mode you can't retrieve or store away the mouth piece without unplugging the unit, making the rounded door flat on the one side or even just a smaller door would fix this issue

Pro's
- Very nice boxing out of all the vapes I have this is the second best packaging I got (1st is The Magic Flight Launch Box)
- Heavy and well built
- Design seems to have been thought out
- Easy to use

First impressions, I like this more then my Solo, yes really. The unit heats up very fast I did not count but around a minute or less like others have said. The unit roasts your herb nicely I do often remove the mouth piece and give the herb a stir, with this vape it is a must IMO to get a good roast.

The Vapormax V seems to be able to roast as little or as much herb as you want but you will not get clouds with a small pack. Although there is no heat control herbs are very brown when done, they are more brown then my Extreme Q 205-210c elbow pack. The herbs do look comparable to a Solo's session on setting 2-3 to me.

The ceramic filter in the mouth piece is best removed as it does add some resistance and I found it to not work that great with it in. The only other issue with it is the actual screen at the end of the mouth piece is very tiny so be careful when cleaning. Overall I am happy with the performance of the unit, finally a cheap vaporizer that well actually vaporizes.

I just hope when Vape Dr. opens one up the air path way and parts used are not going to cause any harm. It does look like the heater in the chamber is connected by silicone tube hopefully food and heat rated tubing.

---------EDIT--------------------------

I ended up dismantling the Vapormax V it is held together by 4 small screws all you need to do to get to these screws is pop both doors off and slide down not up to remove the cover. Here is the inside this is as far as I go to taking it apart. Battery is not easily replaceable as it is soldered right to the board. Here are the pics held together by a lot of tape lol and vapor path is right under the bottom of the ceramic oven.

Well I got the vape today. Tried it out just now, mind you this first time vaping, and I love it! I think it's stealth and easy to use. Thing rips too! I only hit the thing 3 times, each pull being larger and larger and on the last one I got a fat rip. I'm pretty good right now, didn't want to be too baked so I like the amount I took. I used an indica that I was using previously with a bubbler. I took the same amount of hits I do with the bub and in no way am I as baked as I get through combustion. I actually prefer this! I don't like the stoney effect of indicas and vaping it seems to take that away. Can't wait to vape some choice sativas! vape vape vape vape!

@Sir-Vapes-Alot Toss the ceramic screen away and soak the mouthpiece. I fill up the "chamber" loose to the top with a 1/2" of space to the top (don't pack it) and I get atleast 30 hits with fresh sour D in (3) 10 hit sessions.

@VapeAir 2000. The unit should have come in a shrink wrapped boxed, I feel your cons are a bit weak. When your charging it you don't need to access the MP holder (moot). The cord may be shorter than you like (use an extension cord if necessary). and at least you can use it while charging (which was not specified)
As per screens, DaVinci screens are dam close.
IMO your asking quite a bit from a $60 vape (storage for stir tool? to stir it, take the MP off, shut the lid and shake it, there is a half inch of space in there. all you need to do is dump it out and blow in the chamber when finished)
Since you've taken it apart, please give us your review of the inside! I'm sure we would all like to know your opinion. I for one would!

P.S. @HillaryClinton, I Found a link for $62 from DHgate

@VapeAir2000 please share with us what you can about the inside! Also thank you for tearing into it so quick, your a beast:evil:I will deffinately look into the internals once I figure out my Persei.
Thank you good Sir.

I didn't really tear into too much, that's pretty much the naked Vapormax V. I just wanted and I am sure many others just wanted to see inside this thing to see what is up. I think so far it seems like a good vaporizer but I don't know much about the part's used inside. Don't like that the battery is soldered in but again it's a cheap vaporizer. The heater is wrapped in an insulation and taped. Looks like tape used in laptops to hold parts and cables down, no idea if it can off gas but so far it seems fine no one is posting a bad smell or burnt parts so far so good. Like I spotted before removing the shell the heater is connected by silicone tubing maybe the reason why it has such a strong taste the first few uses.

@Vape Dr. Yes the cons I do have are small for the price of this vaporizer. Like I said I can fix the door myself by removing some of the plastic it's an easy fix. I still think it would be nice for a small hole or slot for the cleaning tool to go like the Ascent has IMO. The extra screens would be nice because I have not seen spare parts for sale, so if you lose that tiny screen that is it. How well do the DaVinci screens fit?

They are very close in size @VapeAir 2000.
I actually got some stainless steel screens from the hardware store, and with a slightest amount of trimming, they fit perfectly.
It's pretty sweet that the only downsides you found in the vape are easily remedied. From the feedback from all the vapormax owners, it seems the only negative response was from customs messing with your package (no fault of vapormax or yours, sounds like customs were bored that day!) I'm sorry to hear about that.
If you paid with paypal, just file a dispute that the item was not as described and they will refund your money in a few days (paypal keeps buying on ebay safe). If you don't hear back from the seller within 30 days I think, you will not only get your money back, but get a free vaporizer (they should contact you and pay to have it sent back, normally they don't).
I say give it a weeks worth of use and give us another review. IMO you will find you got your moneys worth and will find it to be super convenient and it may be your go to vape (virtually no maintenance which is awesome!) I would love to hear a follow up review after at least a few days of use.
Please keep us posted, as will I.
All feedback from owners, good or bad is what we all want to hear. The only complaint I have is that it cost me almost $10 a piece more ordering my 2nd batch. But that's all good. It's still well worth $70 to me anyway.
How about the LED! I was like WTF is this at first, now I love it! It's super easy to moniter your herb!...Who knew that light would be so handy! Plus its easier to tell if the unit is on or not.
As I stated before, it does have a 10 minute shutoff time, but that's just for the oven. The unit (light) still remains on... I can deal with that though!
Cant wait for more reviews!
Big thanks to all the members who have the unit and given us your thoughts on it, so far so good I would say!
Keep up the good work guys, and keep the reviews coming!

Thought I was done with VAS, but joining your GD club you vape pushers you. :disgust:

I ordered from DHgate paid $71.43 shipped to USA, this was the cheapest I could find (that $62 dollar one mentioned above is minimum order of 5). On the following page, this seller only shows the purple color, but I asked them if I could request another in the comments and they said yes, EXCEPT that they are out of Black and Silver so I asked for Blue. If they send me the purple in the picture, I will be disappointed. Strangely, this seller had a different listing for the same product, but the price was 4 dollars higher, so I went with this listing:

http://www.dhgate.com/product/1pc-lot-usa-designed-top-technology-portable/185597391.html

And I hate you all for making me want this. But the price is so right. For goodness sakes, don't any of you wander into the Cheap Glass thread, for your own sanity.

Got a message from seller that Blue is also out of stock, I chose Green, could also have had yellow or purple, did you use the same seller @paytonpenn ?

So now I'm on my 4th color choice, am I allowed to knock off a star for that?

Good you may want to refrain from posting until you're approved by a staff member, welcome to the community. When you're approved we will want a material list ensuring what we are inhaling is safe when heated. Also information on what is all in the airpath, that is really the main list of materials we are interested in.
