Yeah, I have been waiting for my EVO all day, tracking has been saying it would be delivered today via FedEx. But after checking it a bit ago, now my estimated delivery time is N/A..

So, guess I won't be seeing my EVO today afterall. What's the point of tracking information on signature required packages if I wait around to sign for them and they never come?

Hey Everyone, a long time lurker here and would first like to say thank you to everyone on this forum and especially this thread. This is the most helpful forum I have ever come across and a great community!

I came here searching to upgrade from Vapor King that I got off eBay years ago and, after reading the forum for several months, ended up getting EVO + SSFG Hydraline package during the 420 sale. Words really can't describe how happy I am with the EVO! It is so much more efficient and I can now actually taste the flavor of the herb! I am still learning how to use it and just wanted to ask a little advice from the current EVO owners.

There have been a number of posts about vapor being wispy and I am having a similar issue. I was able to get a decent vapor density when I followed Fame Is A Vapor's advice but even after 20 minutes preheating on max, the vapor is not quite as dense as from my friend's Solo and that can't be right...

The top of my EVO gets extremely hot so I know the heating element generates lots of heat and I don’t think there are cracks in the bamboo. Based on what others reported here, my bamboo is on the narrower side (~2mm the narrowest part) but if anything, that should only help to heat the air as it passes through, especially if the pull is slow. I still have to experiment with different strains and techniques and just wanted to ask people who had this issue and sent their units for calibration – did that make a difference in the vapor output? Was it really noticeable and worth not having EVO for a while?

Also, a different but possibly related question for SSFG Hydraline owners – a friend noticed that only four slits are firing at the same time, no matter how I tilt the tube, how fast/slow I pull, and how much water there is. I usually add just enough water to cover the slits and, of course, different slits fire at different angles, but it is always just 3-4 of them. It is certainly very different from what I see on this video (also, for some reason there is no Soul Shine label on my hydraline). Did anyone notice anything similar with their hydralines? Thanks in advance.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right

As I recall the Hydraline is designed slightly differently from the others in that it is meant to be tilted towards you (as opposed to vertical with regular HTs) so the slits are cut at a different angle. Try using a little less water perhaps and then tilting it so the water covers the slits.
Also I have to tilt the whole thing slightly to the left to get all slits going for some reason.

AndI feel that vapor production is best achieved with smaller, looser loads. Don't pack it. Vapor production is enhanced by the air flow through the loose material. Along with that goes clean ELBs. Dirty ones block the all important air flow.

So I ordered myself one of these off of Etsy (cost: $18, shipping: $11! kinda pricey IMO, but my GAS requires it) to hold my hot vxnails (once FedEx frickin' delivers!). There's several available for anyone that wants to snatch one up. They're supposed to hold 13mm test tubes, which I figure is perfect for the vxnail.

In the meantime, I was at Lowe's and saw this "Build and Grow" kid's project
Cost: $5

and thought to myself, "Hmmm, now what can I do with this if I drill some holes on top?": Viola!
mod note: TIFTFY!
Just got 2 more nails in the mail, along with my test tube holder from Etsy. Even got refunded $4 on shipping for the test tube rack, so just $25 total! VapeXNails and ELBs fit perfectly. The only modification I've made is to sand grooves below the center three holes. The nails vary just a little in length, and some rested lightly on the bottom wood, so grooves will prevent burn marks and increase airflow around the hottest area. (To make the grooves I just taped 80 grit sandpaper to a broom handle and went to town, careful to go in a straight line each time, of course) Tomorrow, I'll finish sanding the entire rack and then re-stain the wood. It's gonna look good! But for now I'm dropping the hot nails right in, with no fear of breaking or burning anything. I love it! I highly recommend you get one of these things. And the "Build & Grow" locker has become an excellent place to store Skilletools and concentrates.

Edit: @Spaceballs , my SSFG Hydraline looks and functions almost exactly like the one in the video you linked. Wish I could help you out more. All I can think of is that maybe you, like me, purchased your Hydraline during the sale in early December? At that time, they were clearing out all glass, including those with slightly flawed percs, etc. in return for $75-$100 off. I decided to roll the dice. Maybe you did, too? I ended up finding a couple small bubbles in my glass, but no flawed perc.

Really ridiculous packaging. You could have put 500 of them in the box one came in.

And what's with the styrofoam chips? Shouldn't such a responsible company be using more environmentally friendly packaging?

A small priority flat-rate box would seem to be perfect for these vxn's, and is free from usps.

I remember I had a similar experience in the beginning, but I've been following something I saw SM say and it's been working for me ever since: turn tthe evo on to 3pm, then when green turn down to 12pm, then when green turn back up to 2 or 3. In the combined time is takes for each step to turn green the evo should warm up to vaping temperature, but 20min on max does sound a bit off...

Guys.... guys.... :( Still safe to use? I accidentally hit it with my Swagger Barrel

IMO, unless you mouth hit it, or use a dry mouthpiece, you're good to go. I'll softly polish it, to see if more chips peel off :(
Using an HT, IMO is impossible that any glass could go through it.
I don't really know what can happen if it breaks inside the bamboo
That's why I'm ordering an extra couple VXNs soon. Thin glass tends to break.
Any discounts or offers anywhere??
Stay vaped...

Does anybody besides Vapexhale stock the VXN's yet? It's almost $40 shipping to Canada.

I asked PV if they would get them in and they said they have an order for vxl accessories. Unfortunately they didn't seem to know when they would get it. So I ordered straight from vxl and shipping for two nails was $26us. Maybe it is more for you based on location? At least my order came in two days from the us instead of the almost two weeks it takes using usps.

Also, while the packaging we've seen in this thread has been excessive, I wouldn't have trusted the vapexnails to the $10 shipping option to canada they have for elbs. While I wish I could have ordered from pv and gotten next day shipping for under $8, ordering from vxl wasn't a bad option. Especially since I would have had to pay tax if I ordered within canada.

We typically use smaller boxes but we were clearing out some storage space of existing boxes and packing peanuts and decided to just re use some existing packaging while the new ones arrived.

Forgot to give @mlo4sho props for his tubing attachment for the vxn.

I have a question for anyone who knows anything about this. So, when changing temps on the EVO, there are areas on the dial that keep the light green even though I'm adjusting the temp (one the thermal mass is heated up). A good one is between 2-3 o clock. Is that because the temp range is small enough that the EVO can adjust the temp that quickly? Or is the light not sensitive enough for that small a temp change?

I think the LED green range is linear, while the temperature range is not.
On the lower heat (2 hrs or lower) the green range is very narrow around the dialed. But as you go to the high heat, the heat difference per dial difference gets smaller and so the green LED range gets wider. When on max it can show green at 3, because the difference is not so big to show red, but the difference is there and it will cool down a little to get there.

Hey guys, hows everything going? I missed the VapeNail launch apparently!

Been trying to search for the the FC coupon codes, coming up empty. Is there one for FC for the nails or general buying off VXL site that is active?

- Hydra foot - sold out still?
- Hydra foot 2.0 - sold out/ discontinued / any update?
- how many nails are you guys getting, 1-3?
- Any tweaks to the $15 shipping? Seems high for EZ loaders and the Nail

OMG so you guys turn the dials DOWN for the attachment? Nice, no more turbo mode needed?

I dropped my IGG hydrafoot about 4 feet onto hard tile and it shattered. So I'm currently using my IGG Grid/Circ/Icepinch HT without any feet! It's a footless tube, blah.

-----

I'm in for 2 nails @ $15 shipping... no codes worked so whatevs, need those VXnails.

Anyone have any links to posts or direct tips for ways to stabilize the EVO? I was thinking about lining the bottom four stands with silicon cut tubing. Any other ideas?

Greetings all,
I have a question regarding the VXNail in use with an EVO. I've noticed on my recalibrated EVO that placing the VXN inside it at any temperature causes the LED to go from green to red within about 15 seconds each and every time. Is that normal? Does it happen to yours as well? Every time? I'm still concerned that my unit is not calibrated correctly and wonder if this is a sign of trouble. I've asked the support team and they have indicated that it is normal. Still, I have some concerns as I have not noticed this behavior in the videos you folks have been posting/linking here.

This is an easy test. Just place an empty VXN inside your fully heated EVO and wait 30 seconds. Does the VXN absorb enough heat to cause the LED to change from green to red?

Thanks very much for sharing your experiences.

All the best,
/jd

I have the same experience with my VXN too. I put it in and it will cause the Evo to go red briefly and then it will go back to green. My Evo is also recently recalibrated and works great with both flowers and the VXN.

Yes, my EVO does this as well and performs beautifully still.

I was actually quite surprised the VXN absorbed so much heat, so quickly.

Actually, in many videos of StoneMonkey hitting the EVO, the EVO is red. Was always curious why this was. I guess he was just giving us a sneak peak of the VXN without telling us ;)

I think its normal. When my EVO is heated up and I start pulling on it hard repeatedly just to suck out the heat, the unit doesn't expect that and goes red quickly, but it also cathes up and heats back up quickly.
I'm not surprised putting a cold mass of glass makes it go solid red for a while, when even sucking really hard on it repeatedly can make it solid red for a brief moment.
There is never so much airflow in normal use so the heat retention is sufficiently good i think.
The unit just can't expect that, but it does everything to get to the dialed temp every second and as fast as possible even if it overshoots a bit.
When heating up rapidly from cold start to hot temp, my EVO even sometimes overshoots sligthly (the LED goes red after green and then back to green) just to heat up faster.
