All you really need is a sr74 rod and Ti coils... I would suggest that because the essential upgrade kit turns it into a 74 so you can't use the 71 rod anymore if you wanna go back.

I'm okay with that as I have bad luck burning oil on the 71 rod and do not wish to have to check the resistance of my device every time i take it apart to clean it because someone didnt cool it properly (a lot)

What are the correct resistance readings i should get for the 3.7v ti gr2 kiss carts and the sr74 at both 3.7v and 7.4v when assembled and functioning, properly?
On my gear:
TiKISS 3.7V 1.7ohm
SR-74 3.7V 0.8ohm
SR-74 7.4V 2.2ohm

@Boilerboy51 my biggest issue with the SR-74 is keeping the rod in place. When you screw the upper and lower chambers together, the spring loaded connection pushes against the rod forcing it up into the upper chamber. This reduces the area of the rods negative electrode that is held by the collar, and results in a poor electrical connection. I haven't had a problem with this since I started torquing the retaining nut of that collar down hard with a pair of pliers.
Do me this favor, just to make me happy. Install your rod. Screw the upper and lower chambers together. Unscrew them, and observe the rod. Is it sticking out just as much, or was it pushed in some?
I wish I had bought a Nibbler XL instead of an Okeanos, but that said I get pretty freaking medicated with the Okeanos. Like that new guy said, I can repair my bicycle.

What I did was extend the rod with the retaining nut loose, and put them together, then I split em, saw where my rod was, and pulled it out a little and locked it, but just finger tight....maybe I'll torque it a little more...don't want to F it up....so is that where most of the problems are? The rod contact with the spring loaded pin?

To be honest...I'm digging this KISS cart with shatter....a quick flick of the button and its instant...:brow:

How is the taste?
I can definitely still taste the wax with the rebuild at 3.7v, the ti2 is probably the best for taste. this is more durable since it seems like i can hold the button without worrying about this ever burning out. I got too lazy trying to get the wax out the sides after it melted so I just kept adding more on the top to soak the coil. after the coil gets soaked, you can pretty much not even add more for a couple hits and still get decent rips. nice backup for those trigger happy friends chasing clouds. was too medicated to soak the 7.4v coil, first few tries tasted like coil but seems like I should try shatter for that since it vapes everything practically instantly, maybe it'll taste better after i get around to soaking it. Thanks again Sleepin in CA!

I'm getting the dim lighting on my shorty again :( but I won't have a DMM available til tomorrow.

This is why I want another SR74 upgrade

Can you show me your rod placement?

This would not work well on my Hercules. The natural placement of the rod, against the pressure of the positive spring-loaded pin, does not result in a good connection for me. Find the right rod placement, torque it down good (thank you @Caligula for the flame-the-nut tip), then put them together. My rod placement looks like @itschad
so is that where most of the problems are? The rod contact with the spring loaded pin?
That is where most of my problems are. My second biggest problem is a result of overloading. My other issues are user error, like using two coils on hard waxes when I should use just one. I go through batteries quicker than I like, but that's what I get for chain vaping.

yep pretty much my story with usps. No wonder there going under
Everything I have bought using USPS priority mail international (tracking number should start with EC) I have received packages from Cali to Australia in 5 business days or less. I am surprised to read that you guys are having this issue! Fedex is way, wayyyyy too expensive for international users, who are the reason that USPS priority was added as an option (and major kudos to @THC SCIENTIFIC for doing this!). :)

Not sure if anyone else had tried this but while pre-road trip cleaning my herc, I absolutely FUCKED one of my ti coils. So bad, it didn't even look like a coil anymore. Desperate to recover it, I took two needle nose pliers and formed it as dense/close to original shape as I could (not as close as I'd like but...). The end result was a coil (kinda) about the size of two stacked but A LOT less dense. AMAZING. The clouds are not as dense, but now I have zero sliding problems and the harshness is dramatically reduced. Maybe this is a one time occurrence, but the herc is so much more enjoyable now.

When you adjust the surface area of your coils (substrate), you are changing it's properties with regard to heat conduction and others. You may have altered your coil to conduct less of the heat generated by the herc, enough to remove the harshness and some of the cloudage you were getting before :)

If you mean you have some of the rod poking up through the center of the coil once its seated, then thats normal... if you're using 1 coil.

No the diameter of the hole around the rod

If you torch the rod/nut real quick before you tighten things down, it helps. Be sure to wrap the nut with a shirt it cloth then crank down with pliers.

You do not want to torch the upper chamber if thats what you are suggesting. Its SS and i ruined mine doing that. Ive been begging for a Ti chamber but its not practical money wise or something

@Boilerboy51 thats normal, i think... There not a huge space around my rod but it also doesnt touch the coils
