Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Man, I just love setting my EVO on fire . . . did it again last night. This time it was with the dry ice kif pictured below. I was 2 capping a big blob at noon on the dial when I stupidly thought more heat would be a great idea. Actually my bubble hash can handle the EVO at max. Anyways, I thoughtlessly turned the dial to max and kept hitting. So my EVO is in the Devastator and I'm mid hit when all of a sudden I see a little star being born in my peripheral vision :o It looked like the tip of a welding rod had suddenly appeared in the top of my 2 cap, it was very bright. Once again, I stopped, pulled EVO up off the Devastator, this put out the glow instantly, but I had a partially combusted hit already and I had to clear the glass . . . :puke: which I did and then grabbed a Smoke Buddy to exhale that crap through so it wouldn't stink up the lab.

Moral of the story, less heat is more with EVO. I'm doing flowers and oils all pretty much around noon now and the kif, well I think I'll be mixing it with some flower and putting it in a regular ELB from now on.

Has anyone tried just the plain straight mouthpiece with the VXN? I would think on the lower temps (noon and less) it should be okay? I normally don't switch to the HT unless I'm past 1 on the dial.
I've used a dry glass mouthpiece with the vapexnail. You really don't need much heat, as long as it heat soaks for long enough. I've been doing 10-12 on the temp for the vxn.

Dry mouthpiece wasn't too hot. Definitely works for the tiny small dabs that maximize efficiency.

The folks at Vapexhale took pity on me and my broken, 10-day-old Swagger Puck, and gave me a substantial discount on a replacement HT. A class act, I must say. I thank them from the heart of my bottom, er, I mean to say, from the bottom of my heart.

Also got my two nails for my 4/20 purchase today. Now I've got nails for both my EVOs: an upstairs one and a downstairs one.

A little dab will do me. Brylcreem...

I have really been enjoying my VapeXNail, the dabs taste amazing and really put you in your seat. Slept absolutely amazing the last two nights!

I wasn't a big concentrate user, outside of using them for vape pens. The VXN makes it so much easier compared to having a torch and dome or nail, was never a big fan of consuming them that way. Thanks again to VXH for coming through with another amazing product. They continue to find ways to take my money.

After many tests I've improved my technique on using my couple VXN I recently acquired. I might pick a couple more for convenience with groups, rotation, back to back hits, and cleaning.
My new technique it might be similar to everyone's already, but here it goes.
By using this technique I never have that little aftertaste I was getting before.
• load very minimum dabs, IMO crumbles are very recommended. Easy load , very few residues etc etc.
• keep EVO at noon dial.
• drop your loaded VXN and hit it ASAP
• take as long as a hit as you can
• taste and enjoy your dab long enough but not too long...
• reason why: If oil remains cooking in the VXN, IMO starts degrading faster and reachs a point where you can listen inside the bamboo a mini POP.
That's actually oil combusting.
• So, if my second inhale of the same loaded VXN is done back to back, I can taste the same flavor as the very first hit. But it shouldn't take me more than 4secs to hit the same load again.

IMO, I was almost ready to drop top $$$$ for an e-nail. Thanks to VHX EVO I found a tool to vape flowers with top notch flavor, and a most than unique ALL GLASS FOR REAL AIRPATH to enjoy my concentrates.
I found my VXN to be on par with a glass e-nail taste and ease and efficiency.

Ugh... no matter how much "vape" is coming off your VXN if you can't finish your hit, do not hit it again! The taste is worse than anything I've had from a burnt vape pen... it just tastes like smoke :2c:

Micro dabs work, if you just happen to guess the perfect temperature. But the evo heats up and you constantly have to move the temp down to get close to Ti nail taste if you want to clear the whole hit.

The only way I can get a consistent Ti tasting hit off the VXN is to only hit the first 75% and then take off the hydratube while the VXN is still vaping.

I think that end-vape is the impurities left in the bowl that normally get burned off by the torch, but with the VXN it's up to the user to guess where to cutoff the hit so you don't inhale that nasty-ness...

I've pretty much got the hang of it now, but I think I'm going to have to tell people when to stop if they try to take big hits with the VXN!

I had this piece custom made just for the EVO. It just came yesterday.

I use a very similar technique. It is quite interesting as I am starting to see a divergence in the way people dab. Much like vaporization, in the early days many people just want the white wall. With time, flavor and smoothness of experience seem to take over and I am currently around the 11 position with a similar technique. I found that as long as there is constant airflow, you can keep the temp from getting too high so if you load up more than one lungful, high probability that the second hit will be much harsher. Some people prefer that lung buster but I personally don't. Thanks for the feed back @Zangano Cruel

I found that if you exhale quickly and start inhaling again, you can keep the temp from rising but most of the extractors I have spoken to say the same thing as you, the last stuff at the end is the bad stuff. I typically take in about 80% of the hit but once it thins out, I just stop altogether to avoid the end nastiness. If you get the more pure stuff ie, Pure Gold or Ice Wax, that ending taste is minimized

Am I the only one who prefers the higher ranges for dabbing with the Evo? I've had the most satisfaction & success at around 3:00 on the dial with higher quality oils. I find at noon and even 1:30 the vapor is just too light, it takes too long to finish the dab, and the flavor isn't as pronounced as it is with a higher temperature dab. This strikes me as odd because I should be getting better flavor from a lower temperature, but that is just not the case. I've found 3:00 to be the best balance between thick vapor and best flavor. Perhaps my Evo runs a little colder than others, it's my concentrate, or I'm just different? For reference, when I dab with a Ti nail I prefer low temp dabs. The nail never turns red and I need to carb the dome to consume most of the dab.

I don't think I'm just after the white wall... a small load still has impurities and you taste it even at 10 when fully warm.

IMO it's healthier to let the tail-end of the hit burn off in the air, not in your lungs :2c:

EDIT: sounds like we agree!

Yes, sorry if I was unclear but I def agree with your sentiments. Writing is a bit more difficult after R&D sessions.

I have found through some more experimentation that I can get a lower temp to behave like a higher temp (and vice versa) by how soon and how fast I inhale. This is a very unscientific observation/technique but for me, I know what level of opacity I like by when I start inhaling. At the higher setting, I can inhale just after a few seconds but at lower settings, I can wait a little longer, say 10 seconds. There is more room for error at the lower temps because if the vapor is too thin for you, you can wait a few seconds to let the oil warm up and then begin inhaling. See if any of this helps with your technique.

FWIW - I have mastered the one inhale/dab for myself but keep in mind everyone has different lung capacity and control. With my technique dialed in, I almost never have any type of dark ring on my unit after the self clean. Less is more and slow and steady are my personal style.

Thanks for the tip, SM. From my use at the high ranges, I've become nearly petrified of waiting to inhale after the nail is placed in the joint. I've noticed the dab completely combust so I've always tried to start inhaling no more than 2-3 seconds after the nail is placed in. It sounds like there's much more room for error at the low temps, something I didn't necessarily think about. I was basically using the same technique at 3:00 and 12:00, a very very slow inhale but very soon after the nail is inserted. I'm going to experiment with the lower temperature techniques later on and see if I can get some thick vapor.

Couple of things:

First, I have FINALLY had the long-awaited telephone interview with the "Oprah" thing... New You Magazine. I have NO IDEA AT ALL how long the process takes, or when to expect the article to appear (and, how much I will be mis-quoted. Should be entertaining). Updates when I do get them.

Second, My hubby has FINALLY gotten comfortable with the EVO. If you knew him, you'd understand.
Last night, in the middle of the night, he got up, turned EVO on, made an ELB of sleep herbs, got a drink of water, EVO was then ready, he got two really nice hits, second being thicker/warmer, dumped his ABV, turned off the EVO, and wandered back to bed, and relaxation & sleep came back.
This is EXACTLY the kind of usage that I was hoping for! :)

... and now I, too, am very disappointed.

Apparently my two VXNs were also shipped in a way-too-fucking-large of a box, which would not fit in my normal-sized mailbox, and now I have to wait until Monday to trek to the main Post office, and wait in line to get my package.

Process improvement, people. It's an on-going endeavor, not a one-time thing.

For clarity's sake: At the beginning, it was something connected to Oprah, and then, time passed, various interview requests were made, and now, I have had one... for New You magazine, which I think might be one of the O network....

It's okay, cuz I have no idea yet even what pseudonym they are pinning on me...if they misquote me enough, I may never own up to it ;)

Really ridiculous packaging. You could have put 500 of them in the box one came in.

And what's with the styrofoam chips? Shouldn't such a responsible company be using more environmentally friendly packaging?
