Hi everyone, first post (although I've been reading up on vapes for a while).
Here are the pros and cons of each as I see them so far:
Vapor Bros
(+) while both have ceramic elements, the VB one has been 3rd party tested
(+) super cool blue lights, which would go perfect with the blue waterpipe I have
() heating element points upward; stuff looks like it could fall into the heating element?
() I've heard they sometimes give out after a while, but I don't know if that's been fixed with the newer ceramic element model.
Da Buddha
(+) metal construction looks sturdier
(+) entire air path is visible
(+) I read a comment on here somewhere that the Buddha gives better hits?
(+) I haven't heard of the SSV (same element as Da Buddha) element ever giving out
() whip points sideways, and looks like it could fall out of the vape?

So what do you guys who have owned one of these (or better, both!) think?

get DBV. i have never had a VB before so i dont know my facts on that
i own DBV still going strong, and you can also buy other special adapters to attach to other things like ice chambers and bongs
i get massive hits on my unit
the ground glass keeps the wand from falling out of the unit. i say get Da Buddha

I have a DBV and want for no other. I never had anything fall out or any issue with the angle or whatnot. Its a hands free connection so it grips the glass, its not an absolute secure connection but it holds the wand in place without any assistance.

VB, is an older vaporizer compared to the DBV and I would view the DBV as addressing some of the shortcomings in my opinion of the VB such as hands free angle of heater cover but that is subjective and im sure some others would dispute my view on that.

Personally, I dont believe you go wrong with either choice.

I would get the DBV. I've used box vapes and they offer no real advantage. The two pluses you list are very minor IMO. And if I were considering a wooden box vape, it wouldn't be a VB. You really only have a two year warranty, as far as free repair. The VB is still going on name hype from years ago. You'd be better off with a box from Vaporstore IMO-much better warranty.

The DBV's horizontal angle is a plus. You do have to be careful with it, since you can yank it out accidentally, but if the whip just falls out of the GG connection, it's defective and never should have been shipped out-a warranty issue. As for better hits than a box vape, it's debatable. I'd get the DBV for the solid weight of the unit, and the horizontal angle. Not to mention it comes with a really nice padded storage/carry bag. $140 delivered from Dieselvapors (with FC coupon code), and I wouldn't be surprised if Vapenow would match the price.

Sounds like Da Buddha is the clear consensus. One thing bothers me though... how can you tell the heating element is actually safe? They don't mention any sort of testing, other than having a good design. Although at the moment I can't find the report on the VB element either, so until I do I'm leaning toward DBV...

Also, I watched a youtube video of it, and it looks to me like the whip sticks out awkwardly farhas anyone noticed that/does it contribute to possibly falling out?

max, that $140 is very tempting... what's the FC coupon code? just fuck combustion?

You're probably referring to this from the VB site:

"Natural Mineral Heater is the only ceramic heating element custom designed for safe inhalation and tested by independent laboratories. You will enjoy quick warm ups, exceptionally smooth taste, and no toxins from our 100% Pure Ceramic element."

I'd view that as advertising hype, since they don't offer any proof that other ceramic elements are unsafe. And just because theirs has been tested (by some unknown lab), doesn't mean that others couldn't also pass. I'd say stick with well known name brands and you'll be OK.

has anyone noticed that/does it contribute to possibly falling out?
Nope. It stays put unless you yank on the whip. You do have to be careful, especially if others are handling it, but the GG connection is good. If it slips out too easily there may be a quality control issue and warranty service should be used.

what's the FC coupon code? just fuck combustion?
You need to browse the forum a little. Top of the General section-List of Recommended Resellers.

I purchased a vaportower 1 month ago, and recntly got a vaporbrother a week ago. I traded a vortex gravitybong for the vaporbrothers a few days ago. It gives good hits just like my vaportower there both hands free. Only thing i like better about the vaportower is the wand design. The bud goes between the two screens so there is no way u can spill any herb at all. Other than that they are both great vaporizers. I cant talk bad about da buddah cause a friend of mine has one and its great looks diffrent than a box style thats another thing u have to concider. I LEAVE MY VAPORTOWER IN MY ROOM AND VAPORBROTHER IN MY KITCHEN ,,u wont go wrong with any good known vaporizer specialy vaporbrother or da buddah.. cant go wrong

Well, after careful consideration, some further browsing of the forum, and emailing both companies, I've decided to go with Vapor Brothers. Just put through my order a couple minutes ago. :) I got the dark coffee hands free vaporizer, plus an H20 adapter which should be loads of fun! (Pics will definitely follow when I get it in a few days)

The main issue that decided it for me (although everyone else seems a little more casual about it... possibly my attitude is from being in science) was the safety testing. I emailed both companies asking for details, and the vapor brothers people were way more helpful. This is what I got from them:
"Hello, thank you for the interest!
This is JP from Vaporbrothers' R&D dept. We'd love to have test data be public but the laboratory doesn't want their name publicized for this purpose :( So we have to work out how we can make that link you are talking about. There are also a zillion recent reports on all our parts, and it will take me some time to make it presentable. For now, I have to answer your questions myself:
The verifying you mentioned is for chemical off gassing from the parts that get hot. This includes VOC's and metal ions. We look for anything that could be harmful when inhaled.
You mentioned combustion- we don't test for this. Basically, if you have the temp set low (9-12 oclock) you are getting "pure vapor" which has no smoke particles. If you set our unit to max temperature, there will be slight charring, but not enough to set the herbs on fire.
NORML or MAPS are organizations which test the output of vaporizers compared to smoking.
Let me know any more questions,
-JP"
Now, it seems kind of sketchy at first glance that they don't have the report available anywhere, but I think that might be a recent development; I semi-remember downloading it when I was looking for a vaporizer a while ago (before I knew how awesome they actually are), and it looked good. I like that they referenced the NORML study, rather than claiming "no harmful combustion byproducts" or something, and they got the most important part - they tested for stuff coming off the heated parts.

This, on the other hand, is what I got from 7th floor:
"The ceramic heaters are individually tested three times before they leave our building and have a great warranty
Thanks Haley"
When I asked specifically if they've tested for harmful compounds in the airstream, they never replied. :/

Another minor thing was that a headshop near my house, which has always sold the vapor brothers, got the SSV and DBV in stock too. And suprizingly, I found them large and kind of ugly looking in comparison.
So anyway, thanks for helping me decide and showing me around the forum everybody!

My vaporizer came the other day, and it's great. :D
The only problem I have so far is that, as expected, stuff tends to fall out of the whip while in use. I think it could be because my herbs are good (Seattle yay!) and I'm kind of a lightweight, but I don't use much at all in a session, and I don't think it stays in as well if it isn't full up to the narrow part of the whip above the screen... putting a few drops of water on the screen before loading it seems to help the herbs stick on there better, and I suppose I could set something under the back of the unit or turn it sideways or whatever, but has anyone come up with a better solution to keeping things from falling out?

Just put a book or something under it bro.

Though that will mess with the very stylish desktop your brandishing atm :D

Haha yeah. I didn't even notice until I took those pics that everything on my desk matches... I think whenever I have a color choice I choose black things. Looks like I'll just put something under it.

highonlife chose well but keep your glassware in order cuz it don't work the same if you have clogged whip. I keep extra wands for my SSV and VB ready to go.

I love my vb too. As for the stuff falling from your whip, if you use handsfree just put a book under there or if you don't, just never raise the whip above 90 degrees when you hit it. This is why I don't understand ppl who buy the ssv. If you don't want your herbs to fall and you don't want hands free just buy a non hands free vb!. Also on the airpath going though the box, I just wanna say that this argument makes absolutely no sense. The air goes through the box at a room temperature so how could this do anything? Also as for stuff falling in the heating element, there's a ceramic screen on the heater that prevents it. But the dbv is straight open, so if you blow into it prepare for a cleaning! And I've heard ppl who've had their vbs for 5 years with no problems! Anyways the dbv is made in china! You think that's tested for safety? I'm not sure but I'd rather be sure with my vb. Just my :2c:

Even though the air path is angled on the SSV, the heater cover still is horizontal at the top.

If you think the DBV being built in China makes it equivalent to the crappy, generic, no warranty vapes being sold on eBay for $50 or so, you are very much mistaken.

I've heard ppl who've had their vbs for 5 years with no problems!
Not many. Their ceramic element hasn't been around that long, and the previous metal one had a very unreliable life span. Manufacturers didn't move from metal to ceramic for safety. It was for heating element lifespan. 7th Floor has had one of their elements going non-stop for at least 7-8 years, so they're the ones with longevity to tout, not Vapor Brothers.

Thanks to all the great information on this board I went with Da Buddha. I just ordered it last night, but from everything I have head it is efficient, long lasting, has tons of accessories and looks pretty good to. I cant wait to get it!

That's not what I was saying, just that if you use a vb handsfree, you never have to raise your whip above 90 degrees.

Your taking my quote out of text. I was just saying that I know the vbs tested but I don't know that the dbv is. I'm just more sure with my vb and I enjoy knowing it was made in the US.

I never said 7th floor didn't have a good lifespan. I'm just saying my friend has had his vaporbrothers for 5 years and its still going strong. I just vaped from it yesterday and its still good. I mean no disrespect either way man just stating my opinion.:)

I like how this guy has upwards facing air path as a negative and an angled on as a negative as well, what do you want here? An upside down air path?

Just recently purchased a dark coffee hands free Vapor Brothers vaporizor. Been using it for a couple of weeks now and the unit functions flawlessly. I love the elegant design as it blends in with the speakers and tables. The DBV was my second choice but decided to go with the US made glue free ceramic heating element. The angle of the VB heating element is way overblown. A minor inconvenience as turning the unit upside down removes any material. Very happy with purchase and the retailer Vapor Warehouse.

You mean it's overblown to you, don't you? For me, it's the reason I would avoid any vapes with this downward angle. It's certainly something potential buyers should be aware of. It's importance is going to vary according to the individual.

Max.....agreed....the angle on the VB could be a deal breaker. However; properly packing your herbs eliminates most fall-out. This is a minor inconvenience for ME.....it wasn't even close to a deal breaker for me. I still stand by my original post as this unit functions flawlessly and is in good disguise amongst the furniture. I don't even store The VB anywhere......stays right on the coffee table begging to be used!

SkunkBrigade,
Hi everyone, first post (although I've been reading up on vapes for a while).

So what do you guys who have owned one of these (or better, both!) think?

I've had an easy vape machine for several years. It has worked extremely well from day one. I do want to buy a vapor brothers unit soon (mainly due to the extremely safe ceramic coil). As far as all the other vapes out there? Dont waste your time/money/energy, they are all a piece of crap.

I owned a DBV for a while and ended up selling it because of what a piece of crap it was compared to my EasyVape unit. Yes, no comparison. I know this may sound weird cuz all the newbies/merchants/marketers make such a hype about DBV. But trust me, from someone with long term experience with both machines. It is the truth. I speak simply. I have no economic associations with any vaporizer out there.

Log-vapes are supposed to be one of the most efficient vapes. I've owned an e-nano for about 3 months. This is suppossed to be one of the best ones out there because it has variable temperature built in. I believe after 3 months of daily use 5 times a day I have completed my learning curve with it. Let me tell you: It is not even as efficient as my Easy vape! yes you heard right.

The EasyVape/Vaporbrothers machines have a much more accurate temp control allowing you to vape your material much more slowly and producing longer more efficient draws. The diameter of the chamber where you put your material is larger. This allows for more surface exposure to hot-air-flow. Material in chamber is held in place by two ceramic screens, this eliminates the necessity of using any steel screens at all.

As far as the "angle-problem" on VB/EV trust me that is plain ignorance. Those who speak about such "problem" are either in complete ignorance of the existence of the VB Ceramic wand
whip with dual ceramic screens or their are deliberately ignoring its outstanding excellence due to commercial interests.

Bottom line: I get much better medical properties in my vapor from 0.015 gr of material on my EasyVape than I do from 0.045 on my enano (even when split into three 0.015 sessions at once) You heard it right. Now deal with it. Your either have zero valuable experience with easyvape/vaporbrothers machines or your profiting from the advertising of these other machines.

Anyone with intelligence long-term experience using VB or EV dare contradict me with facts? Please be my guest.
