Waiting for a final response from Gary to place my order for a Persei, SS Kit, Herc SR74 (3.7v and 7.4v rods), 2 x AW IMR 18650 2000mah, 4 x AW IMR 18350s, Bender/Hammer, PTFE sleeves for herc and an extra ti gr2 kiss cart for good measure!

Also got a good 3 oz of the finest herb I have ever had in my life, with .5 oz going to make some QWET wax/shatter specifically for my Persei. This is going to be a lot of fun!

BHO is impossible in my situation. No outdoor area for the wash/not willing to risk life and limb for concentrates.

I have had many FC members in other threads tell me that they produce waxes/shatters that they prefer to BHO. I think it'll be much like QWISO - a lot of it is in the technique.

I am looking to pick one of these up for my persei and I am wondering which model is better the
SR -71 or the SR - 74. I understand the 74 is the newer model. But have also seen people saying they preferred the 71 over the newer model. Just looking for some pointers before my purchase =)

I have to ask what's with all the hardcore Persei-ites selling off tons of gear in the classifieds. Did I miss something here lately? One of the two people selling, even called the new Thermovape, the best oil vape.

I know I haven't been around much lately due to some other obligations, but after seeing these posts in the classifieds, I have to ask, WTF is going on around here?!

I know what is VAS but i attribute GAS to Gun Acquisition Syndrome if im not mistaken.

They probably found something that works better, is more reliable, and has fast customer service. There are a ton of devices out now that all do the same thing. The $20 pen will get you just as medicated as a $200 pen.

That doesn't sound like an axe being sharpened on a grinder at all. Didn't you used to do business with W9?

Anyway, I dont think "how medicated" I get comes into play with these devices. One can get "just as medicated" with an apple and a Bic lighter as you can with a Mothership WT and a pricey desktop vape. The question is which one would you prefer to use and why? Yes, I could get just as ripped using a G Pen as I could using a Hercules cart or a TV product... does this mean its just as good a product?

@Silver420Surfer FWIW, @Sleepin in CA stated that he is just selling extra equipment to get funds for some glass. He specifically said hes not leaving the W9 train anytime soon. As for @ataxian IDK... I just saw his thread however he did mention that hes having medical issues which makes it hard to operate all that stuff (this is in his FS post). Poor guy even had issues making the hand written sign for his FS thread (BTW, @ataxian I hope you're doing well my friend).

...just keep in mind Im not them, and this is just what I've gathered from following their recent posts.

I'm sure if either one of them cares enough they will chime in soon.

As for me... Im mot going anywhere anytime soon either. Having a powerful and reliable portable oil vape is a must for me. If I buy another oil vape i'll be an E Nail for my rig, or a standalone plug in device like the VB2. Regardless, neither would be a replacement for my W9 gear as neither is portable/cordless.

Hey guys

I am having issues again, it seems like the rod is not heating up properly. I hold the power down through 2 full cycles, the SR-74 gets extremely hot on the outside but it doesn't seem to produce any vapor? I see the concentrate just bubble but wont produce vapor.

This happened the first time I set it up, and then once I cleaned it.

Nothing has changed, rod in the same position and everything. Im not sure why but the product is super inconsistent for me. Should I buy a new rod? Should I try the SR-71?

Hate to say it, starting to get frustrated with this thing.

You sure the coil is seated all the way down? Sounds like its not.

@caporoot try this take the coil out, take off all the black pieces and then power the stainless section of the Herc. See if you can do this in a dark room to see if the rod is faintly glowing.

Or open the mouth piece and power the Herc on, see if it's creating vapor.

Yeah, it finally glows after 3 full power cycles and thats with fully charged AW IMRs. With the cap off, I just see the concentrate bubble but barely any vapor is being produced.

Could one of my AW IMRs be faulty? maybe not giving it enough power? or would it just not work completely if one of my two batteries were faulty?

Yes, up until almost half way through March. I called and asked where my checks were and was told I quit in November. It was news to me, obviously.

I still have all my old gear and use it time to time but if money gets tight I'm sure I'll have a nice dump too.

Two possibilities bad battery or charger, but before you purchase a battery. Is there anyway to test the herc resistance?

Only way is we test it out, or it would be faster if you just get a $5 dollar unit from Harbor Freight if they are around.

We do have the tester that will check the hercules for you but will not work on the Persei body to test the voltage.

LOL! Im actually looking at a coupon I got in the mail from Harbor Freight... for a FREE DIGITIAL MULTIMETER (MSRP $7.99 lol). No purchase necessary either.

But yeah, without being able to test resistance of your cart to see if its running properly, were at a dead end unless you want to try random things to see if it might fix it. FWIW *every* Hercules owner needs something to check resistance with, be it a DMM, an Iris top, or one of those plug in cart testers.

@DubCRider Thank you for being upfront about that.

You got a break here at FC because we never asked you to register as a commercial account since until now, you didn't let it influence your posts. Now that the connection is terminated, you don't have free rein to post innuendo and invitations to others to ask you for dirty details. Whatever issues exist between you and W9 do not belong here. Please don't bring it up again, not even indirectly as in your first post above.

This applies equally to @THC SCIENTIFIC, but I am pretty sure he understands that.

Just placed my order! Also just noticed that the 8 is being listed on w9tech's website! When is it gonna be out, does it just attach to my persei like the test video I have seen of it online? I want one! :D

@Sleepin in CA I had already noticed you mentioning in the classifieds that you are sick of the concentrates market in CA and this was why you had gone to all flowers. This would explain your shift away from w9 gear, yes?
